Just did another 60 mgs of that AH, so far it made me sleepy and numb, no euphoria nor proper mood lift, did take aways chills and sweats though, honestly if this were a blind test I would be more inclined to think of it as a benzo effect wise, I got more euphoria of etizolam, meh. I'll only use it keep myself sane until my kratom arrives.

^Don't know that much about your history of opiate use Kenny but be careful with that AH stuff, a couple months ago I used it about 4 times in one month and ended up with withdrawals practically as intense as when I quit 9 months of heroin use, it was utterly ridiculous. Seriously try not to use it too often.

Seriously I'm such a pathetic piece of shit, 29 and back with mom, need to move out again ASAP.

It doesnt really help to think in such ways. Allthough it may be a kind of 'tough love' and 'man up' approach to try to take with yourself, which can be a usefull perspective, being too hard on yourself is not helpfull. Im struggling with issues in a very simillar ball park.

Well he takes that approach with other people so it's only fair he takes it with himself :)

But you are right, it's not helpful.

also, the thing about moving out is you will end up moving back if you don't have enough money saved up to last a period of unemployment. So get saving rather than spending all your money on drugs, kenny.

Yeah, drifting feels like independence, but eventually, there comes the day you have to sheepishly come crawling back to your 'rents. Best to get yourself in a position where you can really establish a secure life for yourself that is really your own.

I just got paid from the last job I done, guess what I spent it on8)

The thing is I lived abroad from 2003-2008, then always had jobs that kept me away for six months at a time, so obviously whenever I was back I moved back with the rents, this time it's the longest I've been back, since last spring. I need to find a steady job instead of these short term contracts, however short contracts are pretty much all that's available in my field of work.

banks are dirt.

We don't get paid for our labour, the banks do.

Banks don't have technical hitches they holds the money longer to gain interest or do dodgy deals if they need to. it's true though. The banks are the ones getting paid, not you, the banks. It's very hard to do a job and get the cash put into your hot little hand rather than it go thru them middle men at the banks.

That feed the birds bit in Mary Poppins is right.

It's increasingly going like that across the board. I was happy for a few years with short term contracts as I got paid a lot more than I would have done in permanent employment, but now the rates are much lower than they were, and I'm less dazzled by cash than I used to be. Other things have become more important to me, like not wasting ten hours of every day doing pointless stuff. Shame I've not actually found any jobs that live up to my hope of being not a waste of time.

I feel you man.

One of the reasons why I'm always working abroad is that local jobs are so badly paid it's not even funny, with my last contract I worked as an external collaborator for a a foreign organization, the contract was from September to December, I earned as much as if I had worked full time for six months. That job entailed working from home, then a month long trip to Jerusalem

I have friends who work full time who get between 800 and 1200 a month, even the cheapest rent you can get is at least 350/400 per month, tomorrow I'll have to pay car insurance and that's 360, seemed like yesterday that I paid it, then there's road tax and that annual road worthyness test that costs like 200.

I only know two guys who are genuinely independent, one is in his mid-thirties, married and has his own business, the other is 37 and works as an IT guy at the local uni, of the people I know they are the only ones who don't rely to any extent on their parents, everybody else either moved back after losing jobs or finishing uni, has never moved out or has parents still supporting them, like paying their bills, car insurance, even contributing to rent.

If it weren't for the tigh-knit families, countries like Spain, Greece and Italy would have seen revolutions already, the only thing that's keeping the masses off the street is the fact that most people can still retreat to their teenage bedrooms and raid their mama's fridge. If we were a heartless culture like America, where people are selfish and don't share and help with one another there would be chaos.

My sister has lived in america for over 20 years and could be described as American and she's not heartless, she put a homeless guy up in her spare room for about a year. Just saying that not all Americans are heartless, fuck no not at all.

Is she European or was she born and indoctrinated there?

I also said heartless culture, never said every single American is heartless. You can't really argue against my point, collectively they are heartless culture, where parents actually kick their kids out after they turn 18, where they refuse to help them when in need.

It's a dog eat dog world there, I worked there and it scared me, obviously there are good yanks who donate to the homeless, but it's a very selfish, individualist, competitive culture, where getting ahead at the expense of others is actively encouraged.

She was born in Germany and indoctrinated in the UK :D

I've met nice "native" americans too though. I'm not going to argue about their culture, but I will say that culture within a nation state is not a single monolithic thing, several cultures can co-exist, and do, and indeed there is no clear boundary between cultures, every human expresses culture in their own slightly different way.

To use SHM's phrase, (which isn't his phrase but he's the only person I've seen use it on here apart from me and I stole it from him) I can agree that the dominant culture is heartless, and I would say that the dominant culture over here is heartless too! Maybe it's less dominant or less heartless in Spain or Italy or Greece but it's still heartless. I won't name that culture, you know what I'm saying.

the idea that "america" can be described in these terms - as any one thing - suggests the opinion is an inaccurate generalisation, likely based on ignorance.

Re: America- we are a varied lot. But I do find it disconcerting that Irony was just introduced here, in NYC, by wearing ironic clothing......seriously, savage as we may be, we have no sense of irony. It is really distressing. But I did just make a poem. ...(two sentences back for the 'mericans that missed it)

Re: America - as an American can I rag on how fat everyone is/has become? I went to jail for a few years and everyone gained a few hundred lbs (err...kg...or stone.....forgot I'm in EADD) while I was away. And IQs went down....substantially. ..I doubt mine went up.....I think those years of the Bush Administration (TM) really did a number....

Re: America - I gotta get out of this place. Again. My years in Budapest, London, Montreal, and Mexico City....fuck even Bucharest trumped this shit. Oh wait. I can't. Yeah......don't get multiple felonies kids! They lock you up. Let you out. And then you can't leave. You think they'd be glad to get rid of ya!
