what do people from france, the u.s. and other places think of british people when they meet them. do they confirm to the stereotype? how would people feel if they met an annoying/stupid/ugly/whatever adjective and assumed all people were annoying/stupid/ugly/whatever as a result?

I have a good friend who is a NYC artist...married to a Parisian fashion designer. You know what? Coupla twats. But I love em the same. (fuckin uppity bastards...)

Edit - @alasdairm - the first time I went to the UK in the mid late 90's I felt quite at home. All I had to go on was Irvine Welsh, madchester, the factory, etc etc......but I loved how prescient most were, and with a lovingly cynical sharp wit.......something far removed from a good portion of America. But that first trip was dealing with a rather distinct subsect of the UK....further trips revealed the Brits to be the drunken louts I was raised to believe they were ;)

I had a french girlfriend who often nagged me for being 'So English' in my habits. Wtf of course i am. Needless to say that relationship did not last.

I'm a lot better than I was this morning thanks mate.
For some reason I woke up feeling depressed,angry and with a burning urge to get off my face. No idea why I woke feeling like that but had a few vallies to try & chill me out and this evening I feel a bit more like my normal happy self.

must of been something in the air mate because i was just the same just didn't have any vallies to kill it with so just went back to sleep guess having hardly any bacca aint helping with things got counselling in the morning well 2pm have to get on at them to get me on some kind of meds as the doctors haven't got back to me yet

Yeah, it's not the best way to start a day is it? Thankfully I did have tobacco & vallies otherwise the day would have been a lot worse.
Good luck with your appt tmrw,I hope they can give you the help you want.
I've got my keyworker coming around on a home visit to see me at 9am in the morning so I hope I wake up in a better mood than I did today.
