Good morning fuckers!

Ain't had time for much BL'ing lately. I was traveling last week, I'm working out of the office this week, and back on the road again next week. It's friggin crazy. I am excited to see my friend that I haven't seen in awhile on Saturday. I'm traveling down to SC early so I can chill with her before the work week starts.

All in all, my life is pretty fabulous. Lots of wedding planning going on too. Less than 9 months to go now.

Things are just great in general. It helps that I'm such a fabulous person :)

like how low are we talking? and when will they begin to rise it? can i expect to be well enough to go in and wait tables for 3-4 hours?
 
I would hope they would at least increase the dose until you feel well. My concern would be you might feel well at the moment, but you gotta go 24 hours before a dose, so you want enough to stay reasonably well for that long. I assume they try to find the lowest dose that does the trick, so they might low ball you off the bat and you end up sick towards the tail end of the 24 hours.

Also if you don't mind telling, how much is it weekly for the methadone clinic? Are you paying out of pocket or is insurance helping out?

Theyre going to test you and this is a test you want to fail. Go there right at opening, like 5am. Youll need ID and my clinic takes a 100$ deposit but puts it towards your monthly doses, they dont want people juat coming in for one or two doses. If you go there after opening it may take more than two hours, but i rarely see new patients being intaked so it all depends on your clinic. The first day they usually start you at 40 and increase you over the next couple days to where YOU feel comfortable. I know 40 doesnt sound like a lot but it is. Good luck, i love the 'done and strongly advocate it. Its nice not to worry about finiding dope and getting well first thing in the morning!



You will be surprised by how well their minimum dose works. You might even catch a nod, at least a buzz. Methadone is one powerful opiod. But over the next dew days just tell them you would like an increase and the firat few days are all about tweakin it to make you comfortable. I know someone that went right up to 60 and BAD IDEA. He was on his face, couldnt even function. So you will definitley be well enough for work, youll be feelin good!

Also they figure out how much you pay on a sliding scale. The more you make, the more you pay. But their goal is to make it affordable so i doubt it will be more than 250/month.

Rtrain: I pay 225/month for my clinic. You can pay 10/day for 25 days, pay all at once however you like. I pay 50/every tuesday. Private insurance generally doesnt cover methadone but a lot of state low income programs cover it. W the obamacare, californias low income insurance eligibility broadened so im applying next week and it will cover my methadone. Thank god cos ive been on it a year and thats more than 2k a year i can put back in my pocket this year.

the one i am going to is $158 for the first week and $98/week after that.

you mean piss test me? ill fail for opiates, benzos, and weed. i have done methadone plenty of times before (always been the pills) and 30mg will get me well but wont do shit for cravings. 40mg might do it....i dunno how much different the liquid from a clinic is than the pills...

I forget, do you have a script for benzos? If not, at least in Florida, It's a biiiig no-no. They used to have signs hanging up in our clinics that stated explicitly if you fail for them your treatment would be immediately terminated. It's too dangerous to risk for them.

They up your dose pretty fast. Maintenance doses are usually around 85mg. There is different types of liquid methadone too.. some more concentrated than others.

And yeah, if you're on benzos, a lot of clinics wont give you methadone.
 
^ I almost got kicked out of my clinic for using benzos, finally I told them I had a script and ended up getting 3-4 take homes almost instantly. That was 2 years ago and my counselor was a dick. He quit a couple weeks back and everyone that worked there was excited about it. He was one of those people who you had to explain simple things to 2-3 times before he would understand it. Thank God, I have a cool counselor now and he's real laid back.

Memphis, you should feel good enough where you can go wait tables. Dose increases at my place take a day or two and are typically 5-10mg. Your clinic sounds about like mine in terms of price. It won't take long to get you up to a decent dose, maybe a week or two if your clinic is one that cares about the patient.

Damn, is everyone that's an OCD socialite going to a clinic? That's actually a good thing and kinda shows that all of us are moving on in our lives or at least trying to do that.

I couldn't handle 85mg of methadone, I would probably end up in the ER. 40mg makes me nod and I was doing 180mg oxy at a time prior to getting on bupe. I guess heroin really is that much stronger than oxy and/or I'm sensitive to methadone. I was on 20mg for a year, a while back, it made me able to function, but I would be in withdrawals at night. By the time I woke up to brush my teeth, I would start dry heaving. I didn't wanna end up on the liquid handcuffs forever. After a year of being clean, I relapsed because I honestly felt just as shitty as being a week clean from opiates.
 
What dose do they start out people? Are they strict?

Mine for example makes me wait until the bupe is completely dissolved. I have to open my mouth and show the nurse before leaving. Which is a pain because it can take 20-30 minutes.
 
^ Yea I take bupe. I plan on going to a sub doctor, but going to a clinic was the quickest/cheapest way for me about a month ago. It may be the cheapest way if my insurance will come back and pay.

at one time yes I did. For 120 bars a month. These days my doctor is the dishwasher. I normally dont do benzos and but I find them to be great for my job.
 
I always wondered how much methadone it would take to get me feeling nice. I've never really had many opportunities to take it. Always been curious about what methadone feels like when you take a solid dose. I'd probably start around 40mgs.

On another note, for the second time in my life, I was a passenger in a car that hit a deer going about 35-40 mph. Shit is pretty fucking scary cause they have some weight to them. The things just run right out in the street in front of the car at the last second. Both times I was in a Nissan Maxima, but with completely different people. It sucks for my friend from tonight cause his car was a 2013 and the front right is pretty fucked up. I have to imagine the deer in both incidents died (or at least got some permanent damage) after hobbling off the road especially since the first time, it happened on the night of 4th of July and I read about a dead deer reported on the same street in the police log.

I can only imagine what hitting a moose would be like...

pretty stoked for this snow tommorrow. suppoosed to get 6-10 starting around 11am or so till tommorrow night. When wednesday morning comes around im gonna go shovel some snow and see if i can make some weed money plus more, even tho i get paid by unemployment wednesday or thursday. I already know a few people i can shovel and there should be more cuz i live in a neighborhood.

How about your areas, guys? How much of that white powder ya getting? (pun intended)
 
Not sure how much were getting, but my friend who plows for the DPW told me he's getting ready for tomorrow and needs to grab a couple bags to get him through the long night. I can picture someone nodding out while trying to operate a plow haha. I know it's dangerous and stupid, but the thought of him knocking over mailboxes is a little funny. I know he just means enough to be able to get through the night without being sick. He makes some pretty damn good money plowing for the town. He's lucky his dad has connections. In life it really is all about who you know... most of the time anyway.
 
I had a big post a that took 20 min to do because I broke down and bought some dope and I'm nodding out from that and because it's way last my bedtime. Maybe I'll try it later.
 
^ Too high to post.. wish I could say the same. But yea at least your scratching that itch you've had the past couple days. Even if you 'broke down', at least you got a plan to get on MMT.

I can understand the guilty feeling associated with copping dope after you promised yourself or someone else that you wouldn't. Not saying that's the deal with your situation, but it sounds like your not too thrilled with the way shit is going for you right now. Not trying to play psychologist, just saying I can relate if that's how your feeling
