Which is another thing I thought got swept away with EU laws. Wasn't the Spanish age of consent 12?

Whilst I do accept that every case is gonna be different, and that there are surely shades of grey in all things, I really can't see how anybody could justify a sexual relationship with an eleven year old. If they're really that much in love than wait a few years.

And the fact that he's a social worker should've gotten his sentence doubled rather than quashed in my book. Position of power and all that. Not good. Not good at all :|

A lot of what gets discussed is about paedophile rings, and how prominent the practice seems to be amongst musicians, actors, politicians and generally people with power. Some of what gets talked about is a bit far fetched in places, but I was checking out sources along with listening to it and couldn't believe how much of it can be backed up. :/

Sorry if this has already been discussed / posted before but give it a listen if you can.

haha, me too mate (on both fronts). As I said I don't agree with everything that is said within the podcast, just that it contains some relevant and seemingly true information. It's always quite frustrating hearing things such as this because they do stray into fantastical theories, but I try not to let the bullshit affect my overall view and focus on what can be proven. Does that make sense?

For example they mention things like satanic rituals, blood sacrifices, the Illuminati and I'm not really interested in that. But the ideas about the media shaping peoples opinions and desires + some of the child abuse stuff they talk about are credible imo.

The thing is I don't have a problem with the idea of conspiracies as they obviously do exist. People plan things in secret for their own benefit all the time. I'm sure most of us have discussed things in private for our own gain? What I take issue with is the idea of an all powerful group that controls everything, as that simply isn't possible. Certain members of the elite have mutual interests and think in a similar way, but it's not like they got to the top of the economic ladder by being friendly and wanting to help each other.

The best example is 9/11. Because so many people/companies benefited from that both financially and politically a lot of people see it as being a planned event, but that's because they don't have the mentality of those who did benefit. Most people looked at that and saw it as shocking / a tragedy, while others saw it as an opportunity to make lots of money and further themselves. A good example of that mentality is the 2004 tsunami, during which not long after it happened the Sri Lankan government privatised the water supply. They clearly didn't cause the earthquake, just knew it was the best time to make some money.....
 
yes, I agree with what you've said, things like 9/11 are not planned by some secret cabal but they are taken advantage of.
 
Given my somewhat conspiratorial constitution I'm still going with a bit of both. But I'm a very long way from an Ickean or owt. It's mostly comedy gold as far as I'm concerned but I do find most conspiracy theories fascinating whether they are known to be FACT, are clearly utter arsewater, or somewhere inbetween and a mixture of both (as I suspect most probably are - grains of truth surrounded by pearls of paranoia).
