Huh. How about no one hitting anyone else and finding other ways of dealing. Sure, in a perfect World right but we are still living in caves like troglodytes in so many flippin ways.
If a woman hits a man full on, chances are she still packs a punch like a 10 year old boy. So any man saying I'd hit her back full on is a coward of sorts. He knows his punch is much stronger (sure there will be exceptions) but mostly, women are physically packing less strength in the ol puncheroo department. So hitting her back full on well, there's your test of character.
and uh, cheering on a man who's whaling on a woman in some park? REally? Wow, what a bunch of sad dicks. Seriously, sad and pathetic

The joke is what do you say to a women with two black eyes? Subtle difference I know, but one that prevents you from giving away the punch line (see what I did there?) in the lead up.

my ex complained to the police once after I physically restrained her from attacking me. Got taken seriously and all apparently.

It isn't the same generally when a woman punches a man, when my ex used to hit me it didn't really cause me physical pain (except the time she smacked me in the nuts......ouch) but there is a glaringly obvious double standard in society when it comes to the issue.

That's what annoys me about a lot of feminists, their absolute denial that there's any inequality to men at all. Yes, there is much more history of inequality to women and women still face more issues than men, but there is some areas where you can't deny there is some level of inequality to men. The fact that they can't acknowledge that when it's so glaringly obvious makes it impossible for people to really take them seriously.
 
not sure if that was a dig or not, I'm not saying we have it really bad or anything or that there's loads of inequality towards men. I understand that in most areas women have more inequality, I was just saying that in some area's, ie domestic abuse, the attitude of society is much more inequal to men. That's all I was saying.

maybe it came across strongly but I guess it's because I've experienced the utter frustration of being in an abusive relationship and most people around me not giving a fuck. But whatever.

Hey hexa, I don't deny there is a level of extreme inequality. For example, in the courts when ex couples are fighting for custody of the children. So very often, most of the time the courts rule in favor of Mummy; regardless of fair or not. I get this is unfair and I feel for the many many Dad's out there that aren't allowed to see their own babies whenever they want to. This, is not fair.

Yet when I read what Kenny yada yada says about cheering on some random dude beating some woman full on, well I had to smoke a joint right away.

We are all people here no matter what's between the legs. Beating someone is just bad form; and beating someone 90 pounds lighter and usually untrained is simply horrible, wrong and intolerable n o matter who's to blame for hurt feelings.

I've heard men, some of them old friends of mine say stuff like, " hey, if a woman lays back and decks me, I'll deck her right back. They wanted equality, then that's what they'll get".
I may not know much of the history of the feminist movement but I think it was more about having the right to vote and equal pay rights, equal job rights.

Any person that assumes this also means its ok to have a blatant lack of nice things like chivalry and common courtesies is no one I would ever want to know for myself or my Family. I'm not saying it's you I'm talking about. Certainly not; but some of the comments on this thread? youch.

Women are passionate and wonderful creatures. They are also fragile and even when they lash out with either kitty scratches or full on kaboom mode, we must breath, take a step back and rather than do what cannot be undone, grab gently her flailing rists, hold them close and give her a hug.
Most of the time, that's what they want. An old fashioned, pre feminist, wonderful fucking hug.

Most men are good. So are most women.

Hitting your loved one is wrong but when/ if it does happen, get a grip right.

You want to act like a man, then get treated like one.
