a bowl of thrillingly exciting porridge. No sweeteners, its meant to be a health "SUPERFOOD"; extremely good for your gut, it can even soack up and remove some excess cholesterol, and is warming and filling for an hour or 2. I actallu quite like the stuff, which helps, and its something thats possible to eat on comdwons or when on stims when you loose your appetite and your stomach shrinks.

Oats are Oats whether they come in a big fancy expensive box saying Quakers finest oats, or a paper bag from Aldi costing 79p, ther isnt the slightest difference between the 2, except for the price. God consumers are mugs, maybe they are time poor and money rich to be fair, where as im the opposite.

I had chicken tikka / kebab - had that with some salad and a Raita.

Tikka was take away (I bulk buy and freeze it) takes a few mins to defrost / heat up in the microwave.

Son in law ? or just two eggs :D

I don't get it :? please help.

edit: google explained, I'm up to speed now :)

Popularly called “Son in Law Eggs,” this little deep-fried, savoury egg dish is traditionally cooked by Thai mothers for their soon-to-be son-in-laws as a grave warning that if they decide to get a little promiscuous with their beloved daughters, their precious gems will end up boiled, deep-fried and served with sweet sauce.

This is a new one to me too.

I didn't eat much today. Club sandwich at lunch time then some fried chicken a few hours ago.

Some dried peas and some type of nuts that I don't know the name of covered in salt, chilli and spring onion from one of the Indian blokes that hawks them round the pubs. So fucking good when boozing.

Had a thick and creamy cappuccino after that which made me kinda full.

I need to start eating healthy again all I do is eat deep fat fried food, fried chickem, salted nuts, junk food and other shite. Time to go to the super markets and stock up on fresh salad and veggies, stick to grilled meat and eat lots of fresh fruit.

Most Thai food is so unhealthy, deep fat fried or stir fried in tons of oil, packed with salt and MSG, loads of soy sauce, loads of sugar, coconut milk in lots of stuff and tons of sweet chilli sauces and other condiments that are packed with more shit. Tastes so fucking good though.

I am sure many probably do. Best not to think about it. Seen loads of dodgy shit.

Vendors dropping their utensils in dirty puddles of rain then picking them up and using them in the food without cleaning or even wiping.

Sweat dripping off them into the food.

Using khlong (canal water - where the shit from folks houses goes) water to cook.

Taking a piss then washing their hands in the water bucket full of bean sprouts that are getting cooked.

Food falling on the floor then being chucked back into the containers to be served.

Meat falling on the floor and a dog licking it before being chased away and the food kept.

Chicken that's been sat in the sun for 12hrs (the place outside my apartment does this) being kept for the next day.

Then there's the fact there's cockroaches, flies and rats everywhere.

I've never been seriously sick thankfully and don't know anyone who has. Doses of the shits every now and then but still nothing too serious. I have a bad stomach back home often enough anyway and isn't any worse here.

I eat street and cheap restaurant food all the time. It's cheap, quick and delicious and I'm not going to stop. Plenty of stories about people getting poisoned from high end restaurants and hotels too.

Stick to places busy with locals and you 'should' be OK.

I'm usually fairly immune to dirty food as well, had a bad case of the shits a couple of weeks ago in Jerusalem but was sort of asking for it, ate at one hole in the wall type of place that had the chicken and lamb skewers sitting out in the sun like you described, didn't think about it at the moment. The chicken did taste a bit off even through all the cumin and other spices. Felt awful for a couple of days

Some food stalls here are open from early morning to late night and the food sits there the whole time often in the open in the sun.

I try not to eat at those places and stick to the ones only around for a few hours.

Tonight I ate a pork lasagna (cold) with shit load of salad, veg and pickled veggies out jars. Going to try and up the vitamin count this week as been eating shite for weeks now and feel crap for it.

Lots of fresh fruit from the stalls, veggies and salad, lots of fruit juice, fresh coconut water, fresh and steaming hot pumpkin, sweet potato and corn on the cob, grilled meat and no fried chicken or junk food. Hopefully less beer too.
