Just back from seeing Filth. It was alright. Not as good as the book. McAvoy is excellent. Some of it is a bit gimmicky though. But I'm judging the film quite harshly. Compared to most films, it's excellent.

Watched a couple films recently but can only remember one so am assuming the rest were shite. One wot I recall was Buried. An American civilian contractor in Iraq wakes up to find himself bound, gagged and buried alive in a (admittedly rather roomy) coffin. Cue 90-odd minutes of shouting, screaming and thrashing about interspersed with numerous phone calls (yes he has a mobile and yes it works - blimey they have good signal out in the Iraqi desert 
) to friends, family, his captor, his boss, the FBI and a hostage negotiation service.
Would be easy to point out the silly bits (phone working perfectly (other than when dramatic tension is required) whilst buried alive being a rather glaring one) but if you gloss over that I rather enjoyed it. Dunno the actor's name but given he's the only person on screen from beginning to end (aside from a cameo appearance from a snake) he does decent enough job. Despite very little actually happening other than phone calls and temper tantrums it never dragged. No masterpiece but a nice idea and worth it for the ending if nothing else
Any good? Seen it about on a few documentary sites recently and looked intriguing. Loved Koyaanisqatsi and related ones and this looked very much of similar ilk to me. Was thinking it'd probably go well with summat gently swirlsome involved. Pretty things

Hadn't clickied the linky but looks like it's by the same fella who directed Baraka and was Director of Photography for the 'qatsi films. Should be a good 'un then. As I said, Samsara is on a few of the documentary sites so am working on the basis this linky is acceptable (should be cos linkies to everything else on that site is fine).

A Nazi-hunter and a scientist fight to stop an evil army sweeping all in its way, in this zombie horror sequel from director Steve Barker. Discovering that NATO forces are facing a seemingly invincible army in Eastern Europe, investigator Lena (Catherine Steadman) sets out to discover if the rise of an army of zombie stormtroopers can be linked to the wartime experiments of notorious Nazi scientist Klausener (David Gant). I think I mentioned Samsara the other night ? It is by the same people that did Baraka - it's not a movie/story as such but just stunning visuals / music (must admit Samsara tried a bit too hard and felt a bit shallow) Baraka I have saved and have watched it a few times. **Edit Shambles just read your post** - visually great, soundtrack is great but not as good as Baraka. With Baraka you sort of always felt like a secret spectator - Samsara in some parts felt staged?
If you enjoy the Docu/movie crossover things then 'Wasteland' if well worth a watch.
Had a quiet week on the movie front / The Millers (pretty funny), The Internship (meh), UFO - (really bad version of Skylline). Watched Hotel Transylvania again yesterday - really fun movie :D

Cabin in the woods is great - I sort of enjoyed the Evil Dead remake. Carrie comes out this year so looking forward to seeing how that goes. The conjuring was probably one of the better 'horror' movies Ive seen in a While. Need a new Zombie movie - or to buy a time machine, take too much Acid and watch 'The Thing' again :D.

Over here I get a Bollywood channel, watched a couple of films, one was called Fool N Final, a cringeworthy Indian version of The Snatch, was funny though, the other was called Baadshaw, I actually quite liked this one.
