Ben, start again with Walking Dead. It seriously gets fucking awesome. Season 2 did have a dip, but it's well worth plowing through. Ask Shammy if you need more witness statements.
Oh yessum. Finally got around to watching the third season recently and was a good 'un. Am a longtime fan of zombidom and Walking Dead is an excellent example of the genre
Porn on the Brain channel 4 tonight 10pm
Just watched that. Was quite interesting. Although the presenter was an utterly bellendical, hypocritical tosser. Kinda surprised at how strong the evidence was that pr0n is a legit addiction with the same brain changes as drug addiction. That 19yo fella they followed was a bit of an eye-opener too. Couldn't believe it when he stopped the car and nipped into a pub for a wank cos he saw a girl in hotpants he liked. That's definitely addict behaviour. 28 wanks a day
The counsellor they sent him to at the end was spot on, I'd say. It seems as though folk "addicted to porn" have totally divorced sex from emotion. Or, more likely, never made the connection in the first place. The way he talked about having sex as opposed to wanking said it all really. That he preferred wanking cos real women could never be as "good" as pr0n chixx. And the way he focussed so exclusively on body parts: "If she's got a nice arse it has to be anal, if she's got nice tits it has to be missionary so I can see them". Call me old fashioned but good sex really is in the brain: the connection with somebody. Not saying there can't be a more visceral - shallow even - side to it sometimes but if that's all you know of sex it's no wonder he feels so low. Kinda sad really. Actually really felt for him in the end after initial doubts.
Obviously the reactionary politician/Daily Heil approach of "Ban this sick filth!!!" could never work. I think the local authority peeps towards the end had the right approach, bizarrely enough. Teach kids about sex from a young age - younger the better almost - and create alternative sites they can use to satiate curiosity. Even pr0n sites specifically aimed at adolescents that they can crack one out over that show more realistic sex.
Pain, Pus and Poison: The Search for Modern Medicines
Medical history series. Michael Mosley discovers what pain is and how we were able to control it with the discovery of morphine at the beginning of the 19th century.

Watched that earlier too. Like Michael Mosely and this series looks to be another decent one. He seems to have the best job in telly. First episode of this series and he's huffing nitrous and being shot up with sodium pentothal. He took 4-AcO-DMT on camera (supplied by Prof Nutt, of course

) in one of his previous series too. Didn't seem overkeen though. In fact it seemed to scare the shit outta him :D
Been watching Brian Cox and his 3 part series on science. Some of it was over my head...
Seriously?!? Have you never watched a science documentary before? Was my only real criticism of it: am sick of seeing the same stuff - the same scientists, same discoveries, same experiments, same principles - over and over and over again on ever single science documentary there is. Wish they'd be a bit more adventurous rather than just retelling the same stories each time however interesting they are. My last science lesson was age 13 but man is all this stuff basic
