Public tip-off behind police raid on illegal rave party in Ingalbah State Forest near Macksville

Drugs, cash and sound and lighting equipment have been seized by police at the site of an illegal rave party south-west of Macksville.

A tipoff from the public led to the police raid in the Ingalba State Forest at Allgomera on Saturday afternoon.

Crime Manager Detective Inspector Steve Clarke said a 23 year old Allgomera man has been charged with organising the illegal rave.

He said a 28 year old from Bonville and a 20 year old Allgomera man also face drug charges.

"Generally speaking rave parties do appear to be a bit of a ground for illegal drugs and things like that," he said.

"So obviously they're something we take a particular interest in and most certainly get involved in if we're aware of them."

"People who go to raves often carry prohibited drugs in.

"It's an offence to have the drugs, to supply them, possess them or administer them.

"It can escalate and become a big problem."
