We Love Cricket Thread 2nd Innings

Clarke is pissed cos Broad didn't walk . Do AUSIES ever walk there was one it was Gilchrist but with DRS even he would have stayed .

A very good start to the summer entertainment wise . Loving it .

Thank you IR Bell, you've been my favourite batsman for some time, technique, skill, and (most of the time) application. "He always gets out in the 30s","he never gets big scores when the team is under pressure"

Well done Ian, 101* currently in an ashes test after coming to the crease in a pretty sticky situation.

Fuck yer doubters.

Oh bugger, see you later StuBo :/

Blimey.. He does exactly what people say he can't, and he's still.wrong! Beautiful cover drive there, oh! And 4 more!

Yep, our number 8 only made 65, in a high pressure situation, 1st ashes test, appalling!!!!

See ya, Bell. How many balls to get a ton? 250? How many balls did the opposing team's debutant take to get to 98? From number 11, no less

bell is supremely talented, wonderful technically correct player. but tends to lose concentration at the worst times. very good against mediocre opposition, but the best have worked him over in the past. warne and mcgrath had him on toast pretty much till they retired. doesnt make scores like cook, even when he's in sublime form. give bell some of dravid's application, he'd be a great bat

I agree.

Wicket!! See ya, Swannie

Cheers for that sensible contribution BHM, perhaps this could be a turning point for him? Just a shame he's so inconsistent with regards to his temperament, concentration and application, he rreally could be a top top batsman.

Anyway... Lead just over 300. Dry, cracking pitch. How do you fancy our chances

It's going to be extraordinarily tight, probably slight advantage England, but by sweet Fuck all! Two before lunch please Jimmy

100% agree BHM, Swann will be the deciding figure in this contest, but you can never discount what Anderson is capable of with the new ball

We'll see. This isn't the "thrashing" that I have heard nearly every other English person/media going on about...

Perfect advert for Test Cricket
so well poised

Much better than those boring matches in India where the pitches are so flat that a score of 500 for whomever wins the toss on day one basically means the team that wins the toss can at least draw

Smith is a very good player, need to get him out loves to score quickly so needs to be disptached quickly.
