Higuain is rank average and is asking for 150k a week, he was great 2 years ago but has developed into something of a flat track bully and wouldnt represent value at this point IMHO

This year is the year of change. Higuain is a class player, don't agree with you. He's 24 and has years in front to improve. Like the look of him. And if there's anyone to further nuture his development as a player it's Arsene. 150kP/W for a WC CF when there aint many about is value IMO, considering Andy Carroll is on similar money and a similar transfer fee. I want Cavani but it aint going to happen.
 
Well big andy has gone to West Ham for 15.5 million and 6 year contract.
Not sure what kind of wages he will be on, but it doesnt seem like value either.

Lot sof better strikers around than Higuain for what would probably be 20-25 million.
I bet Wilfred Bony of Vitesse would be half that price.
Jovetic is better as well.
Could probabaly get Dzeko for less than 20 million.
Matri of Juventus could be had as well. Very good player

I mean wouldnt you rather have Benteke instead of Higuain? I know I would

Higuain only scored 17 goals in 44 games last year, and this is for a team that averaged 4 goals per home game.
Not worth it for 150K a week

I understand sometimes that clubs need to hire people, its always worked for Chelsea to have that structure in place.
Roman cant be at every board meeting , so others take charge

But I always got the impression Levy was the don at Spurs, So why do you need a technical director?
Who does the scouting there since Arnesen was poached by Chelsea.

We all know Levy would drag out a player negotiation during a window till 11pm on August 31 in order to save a fiver. So you have to wonder just how much power AVB will have with this bloke Baldini coming in.
 
Alan Shearer's fallen out with Newcastle. There's a bar at the ground with his name, Shearer's Bar. So the management have renamed it. Official word is that they wanted something more 'street'. So they've called it Nine.

That's not a joke btw.

Anyway I reckon Pardew is safe for now, Newcastle are having a good season. They're 12th on alphabetical order.

Dzeko is not better than Higuain IMO. Jovetic is a completley different type of player, more like a #10... Juventus wouldnt sell Matri and I don't think he's better than Higuain either. Bony is the only exception and I bet he does not go cheap. He's ripping the Eredivisie apart but again, it's only the Eredivisie. I'll be interested to see how he does wherever he goes.

No I do not rate Benteke as much as everybody else does. Everyone in the world daisy chaining for a player who smacks of Darren Bent. The guy scores around 20 goals for AV and is now on the same level as Higuain? Don't think so. He's had one decent season, lets see him repeat it.

Higuain is playing in a team made around C.Ronaldo. You don't score 35 goals in a season where another player is scoring 50. Benzema has a similar goal tally does that make him a poor player?

We'll see how he goes, not going to judge him until he pulls on a shirt. Think it was a good buy but needs to be followed up with more signings of similar quality.

Matri will be sold especially as Juventus have now signed Llorente, but Matri is an excellent player.
Guess we will see with Higuain.
I realise Arsenal will be excited with the signing, they usually go for a guy who scores a few in France.

Wenger is actually good friends with Higuains dad , who himself played in France and acts as his sons advisor, I reckon thats what swung the deal.
Re- Mata...Mourinho always wants his squards to be finalised before he goes on preseason , his argument is he wants to build team spirit with "his" guys
Problem is Mata has been playing non stop for more than a year and is due a holiday before meeting up. Same with Luiz

Regardless I doubt he gets sold, althought I expect Moses and Mikel will be on their way. And possibly Romeu as well.

Schurrle is already the like for like replacement for Moses. If Mikel goes I expect Marco Van Ginkel would come in to replace him and in a years time replace Lampard

Every striker misses chances and has bad games, I remember Henry bottling the 06 Final, was still one of the best strikers who ever graced the game. Cavani and Suarez are definitely better than Higuain and Benzema (though not by much), but thats why they are double the price... Benzema should leave Real if he wants to restart his career IMO, was an incredible talent at Lyon.

I think he'll be a great signing provided we follow it up with another 2 additional WC players.
