Watched last nights U21 game, the English do have a thing for making us look better than we actually are, as TLM pointed out the gulf in quality was staggering.

The thing I find distressing about English players is their relationship with the ball, you know how in the army they drill into you that the rifle is an etension of your body and you should master it as naturally as you pull one off, the same thing should go for footballers and the ball. English players seem scared by it, they don't seem to know what to do with it, that's a coaching problem, a deep one. Players from other countries look comfortable in possession and display a certain degree of confidence, that leads to try and pick off a pass and do something creative. Literally almost no English player keeps the ball and knows how to move with it.

He is a FANTASTIC Manager, if Chelsea had not gone for Jose he would have been my next choice

The blokes english is second to none and he doesnt take any prisoners, he isnt a softie like Mancini is/was

Its definitely good and needed to be tough. Especially with all the big egos at the bigger clubs. Plus a good manager can be tough and also respected , like Ferguson or Mourinho

Chelsea bound Van Ginkel looks classy , totally running the game from midfield, I can see why there is so much fuss about him

I can't stand the Dutch but I've got to admit they have a cracking new generation coming through, it seems like several European countries have new batches of very decent players coming through the ranks, Holland, Germany, Italy, Belgium all seem to be developing very skilled flair players.

I think the league next season is Chelsea's to lose, if Mou hits the ground running as he often does Chelsea will be all conquering, by far the best squad in the Premiership, matter of fact one of the best rosters in world football and they're probably going to add to that.

I really don't rate City that much, they overpaid for a lot players who are worth nowhere close the amounts they've been and are being paid. Barry, Milner, Nari, meh. If Silva and Aguero don't rediscover their initial mojo I don't see them winning the title

Not sure why Citeh spent £17 million on Navas there are far better wingers around

I would have tried to sign Bernard from Atletico Miniero instead or failing that Arjen Robben or Ben Arfa or Claudio Marchisio
Any of those players would give that creative spark citeh need , cos Silva is about the only real creativity they have

Pellegrini does seem like an excellent coach, he made Real play excellent football and only lost the title to Barca as they were from another planet that season, he'll do good at City I believe but they need to inject new motivated players.

Ive watched strootman quite a bit as he has been heavily linked with UTD a few times, and still is. Hes looked pretty average when Ive seen him but hes still very young.

Whos making all these signings then whilst city have no manager? So its the club that makes the decisions not the manager then I guess?? Isnt Jesus extremley home sick, its prevented him from playing in the national side a few times before im sure, not sure what cold Manchester has to offer him but we will see.

Chelsea and Utd so far been pretty quiet on the transfer front, but with Utd, chelsea, tottenham, liverpool all looking to improve im sure it will be a busy summer

Ill take thiago alacantara though oh and bale and I think we are set.

The level of play from both Holland and Germany was light years ahead of Englands crap last night

Mendo I seen strootman like 8 or 9 times now, he is one of those guys thats just does everything well but nothing really outstanding.( I think Van Ginkel looks a far better prospect)

Just your typical midfield general, I hear a lot of Dutch fans compare him to Van Bommel thats about as close as the description gets.
He is kinda like the Dutch owen hargreaves, a nice tidy player who would fit into any top team

"I dont need a holiday, we start work tommorow" Got to love his attitude. Great chance for Chelsea next season, with the other rivals getting new managers, Jose is the only one whos really done it before. Pelligrini is a top manager but may need time to find his feet in Premier league, Moyes is a good manager we know from Everton but Man U is a whole new level for him. Those are the only contenders as I see it

On the subject of Penarol, we have just signed there right back Varela Guillermo, some competition for Rafael maybe. £1.5m

I end up watching a lot of south american football, stay up untill 5am, betting on south american teams. Some really good games in there, keep me entertained anyway.

I fucking love South American football, there was a chatter on here a few years ago called naboa or something, I think he was originally from South America and he knew a lot about it

Thats a serious core of talent, most of which would walk into Englands team

Massive game for Belgium, if they qualify for Brazil 2014 I really fancy a punt on them to win their first world cup, they certainly have the players to do so
