the reason i have it. criterion only keeps their rights for so long. and hulu+ actually has some criterion films that are no longer printed on DVD!

the loss of films and any media makes me extremely sad. that i may never see Pigen og skoene hurts. and i have a friend that wants to see Une femme est une femme, but when criterion lost their rights to it netflix instant switched to a different release where the image is distorted. i told her to wait; that's recent enough that i'll be able to find a copy of the criterion DVD.
 
^ What do you mean the Netflix version of "Une Femme est une Femme" is distorted? I just checked and it looks pretty decent to me (for a movie from the 60s, anyway).
 
^there yeah go! do they have the Une femme est une femme DVD? i'd start a trial just to get it and burn it.

and yeah, the version on instant is no good. it's crunched. the criterion collection preserved the original aspect ratio; the version of netflix doesn't even cut part of the picture out but actually distorts it to get it all on the screen. lesser complaints are it is not nearly as crisp and the colors are off--which is actually a pretty big deal with Une femme est une femme. the compressed picture kills it though.
 
^ Fair enough. I haven't seen it yet anyway, but it seemed perfectly watchable to me. Then again, I'm not as much of a Godard buff as yourself. :)
 
The unfortunate adventures of Todd Margaret or something like that....I thought it was really fucking funny. Written by David Cross who is also the main character.

I like the first part. In the beginning the Congressman from South Carolina (Kevin Spacey). I loved it when he broke down the 3rd wall and talked to the audience.
However, the last few shows I think Kevin's character became too evil.

We all want a JR (Dallas) like character evil but with charm. JR had charm. JR always said he was evil but he did it with a smile.

i love the show though one of the funniest in awhile, still to watch the second season.

Why aren't we talking about this? Tons of strong female leads (doi), fun flash backs, and hot lesbian prison sex. Hopefully, it will stay good longer than Weeds did.

It's based on the true story of Piper Kerman. Her past mistakes catches up with her 20 years later, while she's living her wholesome yuppie life in NYC. While yearning for adventure in her early 20's, she's sidles up with an international drug import, played by Laura Prepon. The two have a lesbian relationship and eventually, Piper is popped with a bag of money. She surrenders and is sentenced to 13 months in prison. Drama, intrigue and laughs ensue.

All 12 episodes are available on Netflix.
