I agree, thing is, I don't know when the date's are, so it' is sorta stopping indefinitely..

I mean, yeah if I knew when it was I would have a goal but I don't,
Also he mentioned getting some meds to help with the depression of stopping it.. I was thinking .. hooollllllldddd on, you mean, you wanna give me a much more damaging drug to stop me using a fucking benign one?! madness!!

seriously, I have kicked oxy, opium, coke, fuck, loadsa thing n they are wanting to take away the one drug I REALLY like, that doesn't harm anyone..

Yeah, it's a shitty deal and it doesn't make much sense at all.

Remember though; you're pretty lucky to be a free man, all things considered. It sucks that you don't have an end date, but I can't see it lasting too long. And that first smoke once it's over will be beautiful. :)

I even said to him that booze is a major cause of me slipping up n relapsing but no, he blames my cannabis use as it's 'what i started on'

And fuck it, he said a heavy smoker can take upto 6 weeks to be clean, well, lol I may take a few months ;)

It means you have a bit of a clueless drugworker unfortunately. Even America is backing away from all that "Gateway Drug" foolishness. Admittedly in large part cos individual states are gradually clocking on to the fact that legalising and taxing weed works out rather well for them. The times they are a-changing. Slowly. But surely.

Also, a'ternoon, all :)

Woke up stupidly early this morning. Body seemed to be primed to be up for the postie. And I was by a good hour or so. Postie came. Postie pottered about in the communal hall ferra bit. Postie walked right on by my door twice. Arsery. What is the point of first class post if it takes three days or more to arrive? :!

So went back to bed and dozed a bit. Hardly the best replacement for even minor Goodies but needed the zzzzs. Another day of caffeine being as exciting as it gets. And very small amounts of nicotine.

Good question. I don't know what I'd do in your situation, being forced to stop taking a drug is not exactly conducive to a positive mind-set on the matter. Being forced to take psychiatric medication compounds the insult.

In a fair world, they would congratulate you on what you've done and try to help you find some stability, and if that means using cannabis then so be it. In fairness whoever you're working with probably thinks the antidepressant will do that.

It's not a fair world, though, they are under orders, it has to look like they're being tough, good sense doesn't come in to it.

What happens if you test positive? How often are you tested?

I dunno, well I told him i smoke over a gram a day minimum and most likely 2g a day so wouldn't it be better to reduce n he said no, best to go cold turkey,
So I brought up tapering n he said 'no no that's for drugs that can be dangerous to stop cold turkey' so i said fair enough.. but surely taking ANYTHING for a prolonged period (12 yrs daily) a taper would be best to ease myself into it n he disagreed.. most likely as it's illegal..

Fucking pissed off! tempted to go on the mother of all binges!

I sort of thought that might be the outcome, but I can only see it getting you into even more serious trouble. It's definitely not a good idea, while you're being monitored like a lab rat.

What's the set up?

It's gonna be pretty painful quitting if you're smoking that much for a long period! Definitely TRY to start tapering down before you go into their program so that you won't get too much of the fucked up sleep-patterns and depression of weed "Wd" :/
 
What got to me the most when I quit weed after eight years of daily use was the boredom. I was used to do everything stoned, like listening to music, watching films, cartoons, whatever, after I quit smoking I literally couldn't sit down and watch something, so much energy and dysphoria.
 
Yeah, that's it, I need to change everything, I'm thinking the gym is a good plan as it will tire me out so sleeping won't be an issue, get me out of the house and it's something that will benefit me.

I think I will try a taper out n see how I get on, also will find out how many dirty tests I can do lol
