Opioids The Kratom (Mega)Thread v2

Oh man there is plenty on the nightly news, at least a couple dozen local broadcasts demonizing it as the "new bath salts". Pretty uniformed hysteria. I have a google account that just scan media for "kratom" and it is all over the place lately. Sad to see. And Indonesia supposedly just banned exports until they could figure out a proper export tax, they want their cut. Several states have pending legislation lumping kratom in with cannabinoids and cathinones. I'd say it's days are numbered, at least in terms of availability and price.

I may be wrong but i read elsewhere that the above (indonesia) is false vendor disinformation as a move on another vendor. At least i really hope so.

Guys could anybody help me with some tolerance reduction advice. Im desperate. I cant even get effects from a propular vendors strongest extract on the market at 0.1 normal active doses. I took the whole gram and just got sick (its not bunk). How long to take a break for? I am also going to try DXM, nigella sativa, Ashwagandha.

Cut your daily doses in half for next 2 to 3 weeks

I dont take daily but still experience issues after a week when doing weekends. Im cool to stop for a while, have since Sunday but how long. 2 weeks? If i start again and its still fooked and i need to start all over again ill go batshit. Its not easy starting at a new shipment on weekends unable to take part. The myths where true, extracts just cock your tolerance until nothing works. Maybe i should go back to meth instead. I hear its wispers calling to me, I hear you old friend...

I would quit the extracts altogether for 2 to 3 weeks, and then go back to kratom powder

blight12 how long were you taking extracts for before your tolerance got that high?

Yeah, if properly stored most kratom powder should last for 1 to 2 years.

Properly stored means away from light, heat and humidity. A cool basement is best, and always use glass storage bottles

I've always stored it in the freezer. Is This bad? I thought freezing might cause the remaining moisture to rupture the cell walls, making it more readily absorbed, as well as reducing any chemical degradation of the psychoactive chems due to the lower temp. I'm sure it probably absorbs some moisture, perhaps using vacuum sealed bags for quantity, while keeping a smaller amount out of the freezer would be best?

Prob about 4 months or so but only used on weekends and often only 1-2 weekends a month. There is another factor at play though since i needed higher doses, 25g of leaf or so for effects from the start with no tolerance or experience, even to opiates. I think its related to enzyme inhibition caused by my paxil medication.

Contact a few suppliers and ask them.

I dont know aboot kratom, but I do now some herbs should never be stored in a fridge or freezer

No need for.a freezer. . .just a cool dark place. Pretty damn stable stuff, I've had stuff for years stored half assedly that loses no potency. A freezer could be counterproductive as they inevitably have a way of condensing and introducing moisture. Plastic is quite breathable.

Not to detract from the coversation here but I want your guys honest opinion. Since we're on the internet and don't know each other, honesty should come pretty easy.

Long time kratom users, do you consider yourselves addicts? I've been taking kratom since I quit suboxone and I do consider myself one, an active one. The withdrawal is much easier, yes, but it's still there and can be grusome if you don't taper right. I've been through real opiate withdrawal a long time ago, and kratom withdrawal can be bad.

My rationalization of it is this, without kratom I would not have had 2 years to get away from pills and get myself together. I'm not a mess like I was but the problems that were with me 2 years ago are still there. I imagine life would be in a whole other place if it weren't for kratom. Regardless, I'm still an addict active in addiction. I've just chosen the lesser of other evils. It's still a disruption in my life but one that isn't as bad.

Do you guys agree? What are your thoughts on this?

Please, I'm just looking for some intelligent discussion on this whole addiction topic...

No, you're right. Its still an addiction, but its the lesser of all the other opiate evils.

But then you could argue everything in life is an addiction. Food, sex, booze, weed, shopping, work.....etc.....etc. They are all addictive, where do you draw the line??!

i received 4oz of thai kratom a week or two ago, and i am actually q uite happy with the potency of effects, even on bupre. i find that if i dose below 1mg bupre in the morning, at night time if i take 8-10g's kratom tht the kratom will really enhance the dopey feeling from bupre and i get that nice stoned oppie feeling :)

the first day, i did toss and wash and ended up puking it all over myself and my shirt, i just laughed.... now i got used to the taste and smell and texture, dont get me wrong toss and wash is a bitch to do, but i find that with some strong tasting liquid like orange juice or gatorade to be able to mask the flavor, but the texture is what kills me!!! i immediately pop a peppermint in my mouth after doing toss and wash and that really seems to help get the grainy feeling out of my throat..

kratom is nothing amazing, but definitely is a nice tool for my drug-toolbox.

Try yogurt lacaster, I always recommend it to people who complain if the gritty texture and sticking to the mouth stuff. If mixed properly the texture is that of yogurt, slightly more bitter and a tiny bit grainy but it doesn't stick in your mouth or throat at all.

For sure. Where i see Kratom as different is that i can go 3-4 days straight using decent doses and being nicely high most of those days with zero side effects or withdrawals after stopping for a week or two (im not a daily user) and also there is no craving and weird situations where you suddenly think about it with desire at random inappropriate times. Where i found opiates the opposite or way worst in those situations without an appropriate increase to the upsides.

Real opiates made me appreciate Kratom way more in terms of positives compared to negatives including the addiction side of things. Yeah it has its addiction related issues but imo its effects vs addiction related negatives are amazing compared to other popular drugs. Now this is not using daily which im sure could have a totally different plus/minus profile.

What other opioids or drugs would you compare kratom to.it doesn't seem to be like your normal opiate.interesting is my only word for it now?

Hey guys, I just ordered some Kratom in the mail. I got it and tried my first dose by just mixing it with Gatorade. It really didn't hit me as hard as I had expected so I tried more. I eventually had done about 15 grams and only experienced slight euphoria. Do you think this is because I have a ridiculously high tolerance to opiates?

I still have about 15 grams of the powdered kratom left. Any tips as to how I should take it?

I'm quite new to kratom but from my research apparantly its very fickle.....one day the same dose of the same powder can have a different effect from feeling nothing, to feeling euphoric. Kratom effects are quite subtle so u need to experiment with kratom alone, with days of in between and with at least 4 or 5 different powders before you can experience some of the range of effects that it has to offer. Join Kratom connisoirs and read around those forums and you will soon get a feel for what kratom can and cant be.
Ive used about 15 times now and 6 different high quality plain powders and I've experineced: nothing: tiredness: evergy almost like amphetaamine: but mainly I get an instant antidepressant effect which I love.

I'd say the w/d's are mild compared to most other abusable drugs.

Addictive? Yes.

Dangerously so? Hell no.

The withdrawals/cessation of long term use/abuse are mild at best from what i can compare them to from personal experience (gabergics). Can't speak much about other opiates, as that's not my forte. But long term usage cessation from a few grams daily wasnt shit compared to what i got from alcohol/benzo's in a fraction of the time i was abusing them. And from what i've read/heard from opiate experienced users, its a walk in the park, relatively. Though still not fun, but the w/d's are what make those drugs so habit forming imho. That simply isn't the case with kratom.
