Who is your "god"?

i dont know. maybe I am God, and the world is my toy/dream/etc or maybe there is no God and the universe is some random ass science shit.

I don't have any books. I had some Gnostic books a long time ago, they were by some dead guy. His name was like "Something Von Something". I studied this stuff when I was like 15 or 16.

I disagree. You sound like a Christian that tries to prove "god" via the "Intelligent Design" theory. We are Chaotic beings, and this is a chaotic planet.

I've actually heard it(quite often) as an argument against intelligent design; i.e. if god exists than our bodies/the universe should be more ordered than they are. Again, I do not deny that our bodies are not chaotic but it's all about the degree of chaos. Maybe I should have phrased it as the universe is chaotic though our bodies, or life in general, is the least chaotic form.

I really disagree. We are not the least chaotic form. I'd say rocks are less chaotic, but even asteroids are insanely chaotic. The human body is as chaotic as any galaxy.

I see what you mean. Though, a rock or galaxy is not a functioning system per say, they just "are," interacting with its environment as the laws of physics/chemestry dictate. An organism on the other hand must not only adhere to the laws of physics/chemistry but also the laws of biology or it will cease to live, the more "laws" something follows the more ordered it is considered to be. As an example; our galaxy is on a collision course with the Andromeda galaxy, when they collide reaction will be physical collisions of the parts within the galaxies. In contrast, when a cell suffers an external attack from another cell, it is aware of that attack in a way and defends itself. Maybe chaos was the wrong term, perhaps just order vs. disorder.

By this logic the universe is not a functioning system (if a galaxy isn't the universe isn't), so all argument is now mute.

Can we now talk about gods?

For a "God" to exist, it must be an unchanging, eternal spirit, otherwise it would not be God. God doesn't have 'parts' or energy that can be added to or fall off. I see what you are getting at, but from your point of view it sounds more like you don't believe God exists. We can observe the universe for what it is, just the universe, but that's all it is, constantly changing. We can see how imperfect it is, and it falls short of what the definition of a "God" would be.

Again, nothing we do affects God, otherwise it would not be God. God affects us. We are everything in Gods eyes. He created us so that we may have the glory and wisdom that He has. Think of it like, if you were alone in existence with no one else, there would be no such thing as love or compassion, since these things only come out in relationships. In order for Him to make existence possible, the duality of everything/nothing love/hate good/evil faith/faithlessness had to come with it. God dwells within us when we are being holy people, and his presence settles in virtues such as love, compassion, forgiveness, and justice.

Our existence and human experience is the imagination of God. To God everything has already happened, is happening, when he looks upon us, He sees the beginning, middle, and end of times happening simultaneously forever and always, everything. We are only experiencing it subjectively from different points of view with our own consciousness and awareness of free will. Don't confuse this with Predestination.

As for an afterlife, if it exists, we are either already there in Heaven or we are not. For an eternal Heaven to be true (eternal meaning has no beginning or no end), it would be impossible for us to enter into at any given point in time. Since that asks the question why do we even experience life at all; we must have faith there is a supreme deity that has authority over and manages our life energy (soul). We have been given the wonderful privilege and gift to experience it "Now" , when in reality, everything in the universe has happened, is happening, and will happen. God lets us own an individual piece of Him.

We don't add anything to nor take anything away from God though. God doesn't feel emotion as we think of it. He doesn't feel happy when we do good, or sad when we do wrong. Ultimately, we ourselves will be the ones that are happy if we do what is good to others, and sad despair if we don't. It is all for us. Life can me molded into anything you want it to be without being pushed or forced one direction, you are truly free. God IS; The Great I AM.

I am interested to know. Does anyone have a chem god?

I have read here at bluelight about people treating MXE somewhat like a god.
And in the past we've all heard stories about hippies lacing their 6 year olds juice with LSD because "Everyone should have it and it's beautiful" which is basically a chem god.

Typo for "and have"...I'm using the mathematical meaning of chaotic. At certain levels of abstraction/certain subsystems, we are chaotic. At others, we completely random. (i.e. below the scale of small molecules in our body.) and in others, we are quite well ordered (i.e. the way your body responds to hypothermia is not at all chaotic, or the way you respond to opiates even, is quite linear and smooth.)

"Quite Chaotic" and "Quite Well-Ordered" all depend on perspective, and are really just opinions. I guess neither of us is really wrong. My opinion is that we are chaotic beings destroying a planet, ourselves, each other and any thing we get near. As well as a mass of chaotic cells that believe they are one entity (the "self" or "I"), which is also chaotic to me. A stomach is no less chaotic than a star. A person is no less chaotic than a universe. That is what I see when I look at everything.

You may see something different. But that's all just our opinions.

On a side note, this is my interpretation of Jesus's command to love your enemies. If one can rise to the challenge of seeing past the personal pain of being rebuffed or antagonized, and see a fallible person struggling with the pain of sentient existence just like you are, then their hostility towards you can be understood as just their misguided attempt to make life more bearable for themselves, and in this light is more sad than infuriating. Though rational and noble, this way of seeing the shit we cop from others is neither intuitive nor instinctive, and has to be actively cultivated. I'm a long way off, but I suspect that someone capable of cultivating this reaction to most or all hardship endured at the hands of other people will reap much good in their lives.
