Loperamide isn't something that will be noticeable. I don't even consider it an opiate although i have terrible stomach problems and have used it in low doses, like 2 or 4 mgs a day for 4 to 6 mos. At a time.

What works for me is using loperamide at doses under 10 mgs, then i get some colon health pills, because I personally believe that when i do opiates it hurts the balance of bacteria in my stomach. A cycle of colon health bacteria gets it back on track if I am clean.

Eat a lot of cheese and other foods that naturally bind you up. Although you aren't going to get high of lope, lets not get into that argument. But its not a mood or mind altering chemical as far as I'm concerned.

i used it at the end of my taper and i experienced a second loperamide withdrawal. i dont want anything to do with it. ive been eating lots of cheese... i should get more. what else naturally bounds you up? im trying to stay away from juice but its hard.

i tried lots of meat but that just went right through and it was pretty nasty. i saw two layers in the toilet... =\

You know you wont have any opiate like effects, or withdrawal, from ONE loperamide right?

Aside from that you're really shit outta luck. Also cheese goes right through you (fat). Meat goes almost right through you (fat and protein). Drastic changes in diet (such as randomly eating a lot of cheese or meat) will ALSO go right through you.

Fiber is what you most likely want. But you'll still probably be shitting liquid for a minute.

You need to just ask your girlfriend rather than sneaking around trying to "catch" her. There is no such thing as a good relationship with out trust. And also its your girlfriends recovery not yours, relapses happen during recovery the thing is to figure what triggered it and to work on better ways to deal with the triggers if anything the pressure it seems like you could be putting on her might be a cause. Finally what the fuck would it matter if it was prescribed suboxone or suboxone from the street its the same...

Shit sorry just read your other post sinewavesoldier and I understand now why it would matter if she is getting from that chick with the other drugs, but still you should just ask her because when it comes down to it you cannot force/guilt anyone into quiting and it will be better to have an open relationship for both you alls sake

The average half life is 36 hours. It varies from person to person depending on their metabolism and individual body chemistry. So, if you start getting strong withdrawals 12 hours after your last dose, you're clearly on the fast side.. I'm like that too. And yes, it means that a lot of the bupe is no longer on your receptors.. Some people need to wait literally days for the bupe to leave their system and be able to feel withdrawal or get high again on an opiate.

Our fast metabolism is good when we're trying to get high after taking bupe because we can do it a lot faster than most people... but where it burns us is in the fact that we get sick so much quicker. A lot of people are able to take a dose of bupe and be good for 24 hours. Not me. And with H it was really bad..it's short half life an everything, I'd start to get sick just 6 hours or so after my last shot... not fun. I was hating my metabolism then.. hah.

Thanks a ton, this is basically what I thought but no one would confirm. I sort of enjoy it, can get high more easily. But I've been on maintenance over a year and have been naughty only maybe 3 or 4 times, so I'd rather just have bupe work for me like it does others, but if I tried to dose once every 24 hours I'd be in pretty rough shape

Didn't really wanna put all this out there but my girl got switched to subutex before the first of the year and I need to know (among other reasons) if she is taking the strips on top of the pills, getting shit off the street etc....

I found some empty strip wrappers with dates of jan 2014 on them. So if strips distributed before january of 2013 don't say 2014 on them we're gonna have fuckin problems lol.

IME it's a year. E.g. If you get a strip jan 2013, exp date is jan 2014. Sometimes varies, but pharmacies go through their supply quickly so it's usually pretty regular that strips are brand new.

It's possible she got them December 2012... Possible....

Well its more about she being pregnant with my child why it bothers me.

I'm fine with her being on subutex, but if she's sneaking around getting drugs from other people who can get other shit as she has a history of polydrug abuse.
This isn't just about her, this isn't just about me. There's an innocent third party involved ya feel me?

A bit unrelated but just something to be aware of: from what I understand (ie from what people I go to group with have gone through), its a lot better for a mother to be on methadone during pregnancy than suboxone.

The women or the guys S.O. docs switched them over to methadone.

definitely understand the worries with this, and the trust issue in general, but thought i'd offer a tiny bit of resassurance... i'm 23 weeks thru my 2nd pregnancy on subutex as well as a moderately high amount of adderall (of course no excuse for her to be using when it's not prescribed to her), and before i delivered my first baby last Jan i was terrified of having a newborn go thru withdrawals, or seeing who knows what other effects from the meds. my boyfriend was convinced the kid was gonna come out with a flipper or a 3rd eye or something. but everything was fine, not even minor WD's and i was able to BF for 6 months on the meds also.

again i'm not trying in any way to excuse her being shady, not at all, just offer a tiny bit of peace of mind since i know firsthand how hopeless and scary all of the official literature on these meds comes across for potential effects during pregnancy.

She's really been doing good. She was on adderall but they were cut right off when she got pregnant. Her klonopin went way down too and she is tapering quickly.

She might not even be being shady. I dunno.
She said someone left them in her car.
I dunno whether to believe her or not, it is possible. Very possible. Bottom line I'm letting that one go because she's very caring and understanding and has really put up with a lot of shit from me. I don't lie to her though, thats the one thing I care about is lying.

I don't want to portray her as a lying cheating or conniving girl cause she's not. I just hope she isn't doing the real bad shit. Which I don't think she is. Tough situation, thank you for the input.

Also I've been on 8mg bupe a day for a year, and heroin prior to that without a break in between. How long would one expect the worst of the w/d to last? 2 weeks? Over a month? (PAWS aside)

Yeah I'm talking about waterlining. I load a solution of water/sub strip into an oral syringe and squirt it up my nose. It works pretty well but for some reason it burns your nose pretty bad sometimes. I never really had a problem with it hurting when i snorted the tabs but these strips mess my nose up for some reason.

Because of this i only use my sub SL and IV. I try not to IV too often only when I am running low and want to make it last, as i don't have micron filters or anything so it's pretty unsafe to do.

it's probably because you don't use isotonic solution mate (the burning). you could make your own i suppose.

The solution burns your nose? Interesting. The buprenorphine solution I use never burns my veins. The last thing I injected that burned was DMT (and it's not even the DMT that burns, but any possible excess acid used to get the DMT to dissolve).

WHAT?! i guess the "people you go to group with" are fucking retarded. there is NO FUCKING WAY i'd condone a pregnant woman to take methadone while pregnant. i've seen 3 seperate children who were born from mothers on methadone, and all 3 had birth defects. i'm not saying that suboxone is fine for a pregnant woman to take, HOWEVER, there is such a thing as subutex! for christ sake ppl, do some fucking research before you put your child's life in danger. hell if i was a pregnant woman, i'd quit whatever the fuck i was taking cold turkey no matter what the fuck it was. a good parent ALWAYS puts their child's well being before themself.

Doctors allow patients to give birth on methadone; it's safer than heroin + withdrawal the mother is more likely to go through; keeping the child stable on a steady dosage is much safer than the fluctuations of using and withdrawals.

I think Subutex is a much better idea for pregnant women than methadone.

Tobacco use can also cause birth defects.

We're both addicts. I'm putting her under way more scrutiny and anxiety than she deserves. I'm just having a hard time coping with a pregnancy under Suboxone maintenance and a lot of other issues.
I knew who she was is and isn't before we hooked up; and I love her and believe in her. My insecurities are magnified when I have a girl who I have used with. Now she's pregnant and its hard for me. I worry way too much.

Actually it's weird, sometimes it burns very badly where other times i don't experience pain at all. With the tabs i rarely ever had a burning sensation.

It doesn't burn when i inject, either. Just for some reason when i do the nasal solution it burns badly. Honestly have no idea why.
