Keeping Bupe on Receptors:

Anyone have any good tips on keeping suboxone on your receptors during an opiate binge? I know in theory it works... so you eliminate the transition period and don't feel sick for the first day or two, but what have people tried as far as dosing goes? The doses obviously have to be small enough to not induce PW's but taken often enough to maintain a level of bupe on you receptors that makes hopping back on it from a full agonist seamless.
 
I'm not sure scagnattie. In the past I would often switch between suboxone and heroin(this was while i was mostly doing heroin, though) I would snort some sub if i was sick and couldn't get any dope. Usually within a day of this I would end up getting some and doing it, and if it was necessary for me to start the sub again I would just wait until I was in heroin withdrawal. I could get away with taking the sub like 16 hours after the dope, but it's different for everyone. The transition wasn't that bad though as I would only have to go through very minor withdrawal.

I suppose if you wanted to keep some bupe on your receptors the best ROA for doing so would be sublingual, as it seems sublingual lasts significantly longer than if you were to shoot or snort your bupe. Honestly I wouldn't even try what you are talkin about as it will probably end in PW regardless of how much bupe you take. I've never heard of anyone being able to completely make the transition seamless. Your best bet would be just not to do a lot of dope so that when you do go to switch back to sub it wont take as long for the H to completely leave your receptors.

I'd like to chime in on the whole less is more theory. I know all about the theory and have seen it explained numerous times on here. While I think it may be possible it usually isn't really in my case. I can attribute my getting better effects from less bupe simply to my tolerance going down from taking less each day. I find if i taper down to 1mg/day sublingual, i can take 3 or 4mg another day and while i wont really feel pronounced euphoria, i will definitely notice it sedating me much more than if a had taken my normal 1mg. This is just my experience though/
 
Hey. I'm Canadian been on subs for 2 months starting 8mg and been on 1mg for two weeks now. I have to leave to work in ten days for two months at a mining camp. In Canada we have to pick up at the pharmacy daily to begin but afger clean drug tests I can pick up twice a week now. I'm worried about WD at work since I do 84 hrs a week. Would I be better off dropping to .3 or so now and save my pills so I can last a month at work then jump or just quit when I start work. How bad will WD be from 2 months use? Also does anyone know if I do get a standard drug test will bupe be tested for?
 
Hey friends...I think I finally turned the corner last night.

It's around day 16-18 of jumping off suboxone after a 6 day taper of 1mg to .25mg (so about 22 WD days so far). I was on suboxone for 8 months and had a 3 year OC habit prior.

I slept last night from 10:30pm-2:30am and again from 3:30am to 7:30am. When I woke up for the hour my bed was soaked in sweat (which is odd other than the first 4 days I wasn't sweating) so I moved to the other side of my bed and same thing when I woke up at 7:30am..it's 6 F degrees out (wind chill -11 F) so I'm cooped in the house...definitely not going anywhere today.

The withdrawals are very mild to say the least, when I'm with my friends I barely notice them besides some anxiousness...it was my friends birthday and we went to some EDM event, after a night of partying I was very drained (and still sore!). Lack of energy, tough to sleep, I'm actually very bored as I can't do 1 thing for very long at all.

Definitely excited that I got some sleep, and my body doesn't hurt anymore today but I still have no energy. i backed my car into a tree yesterday lol, it was snowing bad and I was in the city and didn't even see it, oh well just a minor dent, I hate my car anyways.
 
Had a sub doc appointment today, sub doctor was chill about the weed an didn't even care, so happy.

Anyway, been at 4mg of subs for 4 days and 8mg for 2 weeks before this. I hate being on sub maintenance so I wanna get off...my question is after 4 days at 4mg can I go down to 2 or 3mg tomorrow? Would 2 mg be to much of a drop so quickly? Any advice? Thanks guys

Scags- are you planning a relapse man? I remember seeing your thread on the awful withdrawals you had when you went off a 4 bundle a day habit. Come on man, think it over again don't do it I know you don't wanna hear it but someone has to say it bro. Goodluck.
As for the bupe would the concept of taking .25-.5mg before full agonist opiates to potentiate the high leave enough bupe on your receptors to prevent pwd when you take the bupe next?

Day 2, wd is getting worse. Constant yawning, watery eys, rls, runny nose, muscle pain and aches. It's not extremely severe but its not my idea of fun. I'm hanging in though, can't wait for Thursday to try bupre and see how I feel, then its another 4 or 5 days without bupre again. Good thing I don't have much going in this next month, just going to chill.
 
its been over 3 weeks off suboxone and i had to get some imodium. the second week of school is here and im dragging some serious ass. im still sweating from my hands and feet, diarrhea, anxiety, etc. it's not as bad as the first week at all but its enough to make university classes a real bitch. it is unfortunate i had to do this. i dont want to be dependent on loperamide.
 
Today is day 19 of no suboxone.

i still have lingering effects but nothing that would keep me from the forward progress of life. Minor fatigue, minor aches and pains, still not a lot of energy but today was the first day all month I worked out (although it pales in comparison to what I was lifting on suboxone..hope I get stronger quick). I have a very hard time sleeping past dawn now, so it seems insomnia and no energy are the last to go.

Another killer at the moment for me is how bored I am. I moved back home to get clean, took a leave of absence from my job so money is tight..I've basically been watching Netflix on my iPad the whole time...definitely wish I could find a new hobby....

Any updates lacster? I've been thinking about trying to do what you are attempting right now. Im wondering if it's been working for you and was the buzz worth it on Thursday?

mr. scag'...My pain management Dr. has me on 1 mg. subutex 2 x daily w/ 90 mg oxycodone daily At first I (we, he already knew) that the sub' actually makes the rebound pain not as severe (I can make 30 mg's last 8 hours w/o near the rebound effect) The second thing I realized was that my tolerance is pretty steady now, as it does not cause tolerance to grow as many think...I'm not sure if this answers your question but it disproves allot of myths behind buprenorphine.
I have had the chance to use the 0.2 mg. Buprenex in Mexico in the same fashion and it worked even better.

IME, this is the only way I can to do it. I feel that retaining any significant amount of bupe going into a binge is just going to dull the experience. A small dose 24h beforehand will probably not impact the binge too much, but in that case you are essentially doing what Ricearoni suggested as you will have only a small fraction of a dose in your system and will still feel withdrawal setting in after the binge.

Yeah that sounds pretty rough man. But i mean if you don't use the lope for very long, and do a quick taper it wont be near as bad as the sub w/d, and it wont last near as long either. I don't know whether you've started taking the lope daily or not, though. Never used it myself as it didn't work for me. I took like 32 milligrams when i was in sub withdrawal and all it did was make me constipated, and give me a pretty mean stomach ache.
 
hi guys, thought this thread would be the appropriate place to post.

anyways, i've been battling a 3 year opi addiction and im trying to seek help today. some back ground would be taking about 60-100mgs of oxy a day (i know not much but its still a habit, at times that i cant get oxy i do around 30-40mgs of methadone/ 12-16mgs of diluadid, and too many mg's of hydro to count, done h a few times but i just feel so guilty and dirty after that. its pretty hard to actually find cheap and good opiates around here, not sure why cause im right next to a large city(or large imo). im tired of looking for drugs all the time and wasting all my money, lying to my girlfriend,friends and family. i've called about 3 sub doctors around here but i always get a response that goes like this: "sorry but dr.____ has a full list of patients". so today im going to my family doctor to talk about my addiction, im scared he will force me to go through rehab and do a rapid detox(heard of it happening a few times, even with my brother, who also uses) or just wont address the problem like i want him to. i have moderate knee and back pain but this is all unknown to any of my doctors or even family/friends, i tend to use opiates to battle anxiety, pain, insomnia and they always help me with PE in sex(embarrassing i know), and of course to escape the troubles of life, and of course...get a good nod. i would love to get some tips from everyone and i hope im posting in the right thread, i apologize in advance if this is the wrong area. help!

UPDATE: well doc wanted me to go to detox tonight and go to a very conservative/strict rehab and behavioral center, i told him i couldnt do it. im gonna talk to my mother about this as well to try to get more info on suboxone plans/maintenance. but any tips how to do this or anything would be appreciated. if it helps i also live near Columbia, south carolina. thanks guys

Man I've been through a few rehabs and outpatient rackets and am currently on subs. The subs are the only thing that have even remotely worked, and on them I've accomplished 8 months free of full agonist opiates. I know everyone is different and therefore respond differently to identical circumstance, but I know I'd have saved a lot of time and money had someone given me similar advice I'd have saved a lot of time and money. I'd stick with calling the docs until you find an opening. All the luck to ya.
 
If you're made up your mind that you need sub to quit this you may have to call 100 docs before you find an opening, don't let being turned down by just a few of them dash your hopes. First time I saw a sub doc we had tried 20-30 before finding an opening.
 
This is going to sound like a crazy request and I'm not sure if its ok to do (if not I apologize and call me up on it).

I need to source the packaging of suboxone film. Its for a research project, and I called up R&B but I'd have to go through their legal department and that would take months (not to mention I'm quite adverse to alot of R&Bs decision making polices regarding suboxone).

So to be clear, I would need the plastic film packaging only, not the drug at all. With the least amount of damage to it. Willing to pay 10 bucks for it, via paypal. Shoot me a PM if interested.

Subutex (Buprenorpine) not working anymore!!

I have a question for people who have knowledge about Buprenorphine and methadone who wouldn't mind giving me their input.. I have been on subs for 8 years now ( suboxone for first 6 years and subutex for last 2 years) and for the first couple years I took 2mg - 4mg daily and that was plenty to make my cravings go away. The next few years I could go up and down dose wise without any problem as long as I took 8 mg a day I never had an issue and usually felt pretty good after my dose everyday. Then about 2 years ago I noticed no matter how much I took I still have cravings and feel like I need more but taking any amount more does absolutely nothing! I did switch to subutex a year ago and I'm on the Roxanne brand generic which is even worse but I have the same problem with suboxone only that makes me sick as a dog.. It feels like my body just doesn't respond to buprenorpine anymore and I've been just depressed and constantly obsessed with the whole issue. I never feel like I took opiates like I used to and it subs just don't know what else to do. I figure that I might need a full opiate such as methadone to continue on maintenance therapy but I don't really want to go to a clinic every day. Has anyone heard of a situation like this before? I'm just tired of my meds not working anymore and it's negatively effecting my life big time!! Are there any programs that prescribe methadone take home? Or are they all daily clinics? :?
