Morning snolls :) Good luck! All about the writin' whiskey, channel your inner HST :D

Determined to be more productive today. Let the battle with the bedroom-mould commence. Also decided now is the time to get back in touch with a load of people I've lost contact with over the past few months and attempt to catch up with my PMs. This could take a while.. ;)

I need a new debit card too, mine has an alarmingly enlarging crack in it. Probably from crushing shit up, I don't usually use it for that but desperate times.. :(

edit: morning SHM :)

Haha, spot on :D It's good enough for him, is good enough for me ;) And all those other drunken druggie types, excellent writers, am in good company ha.

Good luck with the productivity, love that feeling when you finally get the drive to do something. And sympathies on the mould, is why I moved out of my first student house, so much mould I was hacking my lungs up every night. Turned out the bedframe was hammered together out of scrap wood and mouldy as fuck. Ace. Not nice stuff at all.

Just watching 'The Wright Stuff' on Ch.5 and they had a phone phone about a study that says fizzy drinks can cause depression.
Anyway a woman rang the show and she drinks 25 cans of diet coke every day. That's all she has, no water, tea or alcohol just diet coke.
I can't personally stand fizzy drinks. I haven't had a can of coke for years. Red Bulll just makes me feel ill. Had a can years ago when it first came out. It gave me a headache, stomachache and I felt all trembly like I'd had speed.Never touched it since but my mate loves the stuff.
According to the study, fruit squash is even worse for you than the fizzy drinks.
I do hate seeing young kids drinking coke cos of all the sugar in it.
Anyway hope everyone has a good day whatever you are up to.

Ahh Snolly glad I'm not the only one, got 1,500 words to write by tomorrow, plus got to edit down 800 off a report that I got a little carried away on.. The plan is to get started in 20 mins, not go on BL for at least a few hours..! if I still have lots to do by the evening then will just HAVE to pop a dex and power on til morning :)

anyway hope everyone has a good day, tis surprisingly bright outside in Leeds

ahhh ... safety. and feeling safe. ... it's a chestnut and a half. feeling safe doesn't equate to being safer. It's the exact misnomer that all our political structures are based around tho.

Ridiculously petty and pedantic interlude - you mean misconception, not misnomer.

Armchair etymologists / annoying twats such as myself will point to the fact it's an Anglo-French word in origin, so the 'nom' part of it applies to nomenclature alone (names and designations). Ironically, it's become one of the most commonly misused words in the English language in the past few years.

So it ain't just you, don't worry. I just find the fact that of all words, that one has fallen into heavy use outside of the correct context pretty amusing.

Not that anybody's bothered but me, so carry on. :)

Ahh good luck, nice to have someone to suffer with :D Editing is always a bugger though, I'm doing this as I go. Got a 500 word commentary to write on it after but that'll be piss. I hope. BL is a fucker for productivity though. Banged on a film to get me through the afternoon, Panic Button. Anyone seen it? Pretty decent so far.

edit: I am going to have some severe editing trouble with this, I've got 700 words left roughly and I'm barely at the middle of the story. I can go to 3300 but any more than that is an automatic fail under new uni regs. Likewise, I can go to 2700 at a min. Oh boy

Aftermornin', all :)

Mmm... Alex Jones and gun control debate? With such Goodies you are truly spoiling us today EADD <3

I quite <3 Alex Jones. He's great. I have a lotta time for Oor Alex. Which is not the same thing as saying I necessarily subscribe to his views on everything. Or even much of anything. He does have journalistic integrity (a rare thing amongst most journalists it seems these days :\) and puts in some serious research on his topics which is to be admired in an age when skimming a wiki page or two counts as research for half the stories we read. I don't tend to agree with how he interprets all that information he turns up but appreciate the fact that such information gets turned up at all really. Just a shame he has a tendency to go (far) right off at the deep-end to ridiculous levels on certain issues - gun control being one of 'em. He's not very fond of Britain either. Don't think he's forgiven us for those lil tax hikes on the colonies yet :D

People who study the origins of dsylexia in insects?

I thought that haha. Can you imagine if he was being interviewed by an Indian bloke & decided to fire on a stupid accent? Why is it seemingly alright for him to do it to an English guy? Also, why am I defending both Piers Morgan & the English in general? 8( They'll revoke my Tennent's Super license if I keep this up.

M'Afternoon peeps <3

Just had a good ol' day at the knobcentre. They've "been trying to get in touch with me" apparently so I had to go sort out phone numbers, which turned into using their phones to get in touch with someone else.
Even though I sent them a note from my GP, they didn't get it. So I'm going to have to do so again before I send off my other letter of some importance.
Which is impossible as she's booked and I've only .... some far few days to send this off and I can't bring "evidence" late to the tribunal.
Every single turn I'm cut off or kicked back 5 steps...

.............

All I do these days on BL (and EADD solely really) is whinge and whine! And nobody could give a shit, so I wonder why I'm actually bothering to type as I am now. But I may as well - Get it off the chest n that...

Hope everyone's having a happy... Wednesday <3

Not too bad. Having mild Job Centre woes myself. They claim that they'll reinstate ESA while dealing with an appeal, apparently this will be reinstated as soon as they start processing the appeal, of course they don't give anything resembling a timescale on this so I have no idea whether it takes them 6 weeks or 6 years to start processing the appeal. I also don't believe for a second that they'll automatically reinstate my ESA payments without me having to harass them about it.

Cunts, eh?

Hey MrM (so many MrM's), I care, just too busy for anything but a quick post. Don't give in. Kick shit out of the tribunal. Good luck for whenever it is.

Bwahahahahahaha! =D

It's a fair point on the accent thing though. Not that I expect any English folk would actually be offended by it but you're absolutely right that if it were a more "ethnic" accent people would be up in arms about it. Even as a bit of an Alex Jones fan his rabid anti-Brit stuff does grate a bit sometimes. Yes, we get it - the Empire (and especially the way the colonies were treated) wasn't exactly our finest hour. But it was 250 years ago and even amongst our own ultra-conservative types you'd be hard pressed to find many people who would still support the kinda shit we got up to back then. I do wish he'd just get over it.

I don't have much time for patriotism in general but I get that he believes wholeheartedly in the US Constitution (fair enough - it's not a bad set of principle at all for the most part) but he doesn't have to be quite so bloody parochial in his views. The rest of the world really isn't as backwards and feudal as he wants it to be. Aside from being just a tad overenthusiastic at times, the fact that he's so focussed on either tiny (but important and real) detail or massive (and potentially important but also somewhat speculative) broad brushstrokes means he loses all sense of scale and just comes over as frankly unbalanced. That "interview" was hilariously bad - he was acting like a roomful of kids on too much day-glo orange squash and sweeties.

The one good dig he did get in at Piers almost went unnoticed amongst the barrage of wtf - I do wish he'd paused for breath after asking Piers why he isn't returning to the UK to face charges over that phone hacking bizniz. Do we fuck want him deported back here unless he's going straight to jail without passing Go or collecting $200 :D

Oh, and on the other topic of discussion - am also having knobcentre/ESA woes. Again. Been sent another questionnaire about my reasons for being unfit to work are. Again. They seem to be under the impression that I'm still on Income Support and need transferring to ESA despite the fact we've been through this several times already. Fukkin ATOS are the most useless bunch of cunts I've ever had the "pleasure" of dealing with. Unbe-fuckin-lievable levels of incompetence :!

I don't have much time for patriotism in general but I get that he believes wholeheartedly in the US Constitution

I think that's one of the major problems with a lot of Americans though. The mad patriotic ones anyway. Basically, if it's in the constitution then it must absolutely be the best thing ever & nothing can ever change it no matter what, doesn't matter how the world or society changes because it's in the constitution & that's that nanananannanana-I-can't-hear-you.

The world was a lot different a few hundred years ago when that constitution was written. All things change eventually. People need to accept that things can't just be set in stone forever more.

Indeed, PTCH. There are definitely some excellent principles in their Constitution that absolutely should be defended. The right to bear arms bit is just plain outdated though. As you say, it's from a very different time and it just doesn't make much sense now. I agree with the basic principle of it - the right to defend yourself and the things that you hold dear - but it's totally impractical a coupla centuries down the line. Can't remember if it was you or somebody else that made the point a coupla pages back but it's bang on: all the guns in the world are as good as useless if Big Bad Government/NWO/Illuminati/UN/conspiracist fantasy of your choice really did take over and turn up on your doorstep with all the shit they have at their disposal. It's a pretty meaningless right in the sense it was originally intended - no pisspot redneck militia group are gonna hold off an actual government army if such a thing ever did happen.

Glad yer irie aside knobcentre woes.
That's exactly what I've had to do - I sent them my GP's note but thet didn't get it apparently. So I've to send another one.
But it will be too late. I just hope I can sort it over the phone with her.

And if they say 6 months, it will be exactly that or just a week plus or minus.

Cunts indeed :|

Stellar post. Good to wake up to. <3

If I'm going to bear arms against my own government I don't need a cookie 200 year old constitution enshrining it as a right. I'll just do it. That way we also get to cut out the nutty individual americans shooting up schools. On the whole.
