one of the oldest trades in the world. i think if everyone is consenting, treated and paid well and there is no issue of any kind of abuse taking place then let it be. its only natural
Thank you for understanding what I meant. I think you're the only one who did, actually.
I reckon every man has been at least once in their lifetime.
No he didn't actually unless you equate a one night dinner and sex and a relationship. There's a difference and maybe that's why you have the reasoning you have.
Basically boils down to: "Its bad for you and you may think you are okay with it, but you really aren't. If you disagree with me it is only because you are sick."
What a condescending, paternal point of view.
Do you use any drugs? What do you think of the loads of people who apply that same logic to your choice to use drugs?
LMFAO, talk about being a prude... it's the same principle, now matter how you argue about it.
@Illyria99, there's a witch hunt going on here.
Pretty much the truth - not just my opinion. I do not talk lightly very often in matters of existential angst, SLR or spirituality.
Take it as you will, brother.
At the end of the day - if/when I befriend any more prostitutes, I will continue to do what I have always done - be a friend, not be overly pressing, but at the same time, in doing my duty as a fellow human being, to every now and then, when life is getting them down, suggest that they give up their day/night job and look for realizing their true potential.
I would never negatively judge a person I meet for what they do - I'm way past that, it is immature and gets us nowhere really fast - but as I said I will always try and make someone see that their path is not the only path, that where they are now is all part of the journey, and negative parts do not have to be forever, just fleeting.

One of my favourite quotes from the television show, Angel...
Angel: Sleeping together is not a relationship.
Spike: It is if you do it enough times.
Nope.

I know people who've had friends with benefits for months and I can assure you they're not in a romantic relationship at all.
I say that if prostituion was legal and controlled it wouldn't be much of an issue. Whereas the people would need to get disease tested on a monthly basis.
Its not going away so you may as well try and make it safer. And you keep local jails free of the burden of more nonviolent offender incarcerated.
True. Its just one of those things that WILL NOT go away. So at least trying a new approach to the issue can't hurt.
