our culture has turned newer generations of males into effeminate eunuchs

I fail to see streets full of 'effeminate eunuchs'.

If anything, aggression is both implicitly and explicity encouraged by contemporary culture, especially that marketed toward males.

If anything this country has gone backward at least a decade in terms of gender cohesion, and essentialism is a massive part of the male experience.

Wherever these 'effeminate eunuchs' are (and I suspect they're your personal bogeyman for whatever reason), they certainly aren't the guys I encounter out on the piss in the city centre of a Saturday night. With the possible exception of a hipster or two.

Anyway, who's to say what's inherently 'masculine' or 'effeminate'? It's all outdated bollocks. It's the twenty-first century. Things are a lot more fluid.

as far as I'm concerned, a human being is the mind / brain - the jar it sits in and other bits that are attached to it that make up the rest of the person mean fuck all when it comes to determining wether that human is an oxygen thief or not.

Exactly, all this gender crap is overblown
Look at India
Bilion people, mass gender based abortions and had a female as its leader and in all probability may elect another one next time around, and look at emerging markets like Argentina with female leaders as well like Kirchner
End of the day I truly think women get MORE of an advantage than guys do, I have seen it in Finance , yes most board members of Investment banks will not be female but sure as hell many many people who get promoted from analyst to traders and managing directors will more often than not be female than guys when you factor in percentage of employees
Theres a reason they call Morgan Stanley MARY Stanley now, its cos they are so good at promoting women

I dont want to use that dreaded PC word again, but its actually the way it is

PS Shambles, lol this is actually a great clip :)

I'd love to go into the detail of that post but I haven't got a spare week.

I will say I live on a completely different planet to you though TLM.

cool, I agree with that, but your sweeping generalisations about women don't really fit in with that statement very well really

My thoughts exactly. In fact, it's pretty contradictory to my mind.

Someone post that Tracey SamhainGrim pic please, I can't find it ;)

Shush you. That's ten years old.

Jancrow will testify I've become a beast of a man since then.

erm, way to flippantly skirt over the facts. From what I remember there's just one female CEO from the FTSE top 100 ... but apparently women benefit from positive discrimination up until that level? What a convenient theory you've got there

Bollocks.

[/B]

You say this as if men haven't had a choice in their own development .. bizarre, when in fact they're in a much better position to choose for themselves how to be than women ever were while they had to fit in the bracket that society (and men) dictated

Well, to be quite honest I don't give a toss about other men or younger generations, only myself.

I went to a state school, I had exactly the same opportunity as anyone else male or female to choose 'how to be', and what I saw was, on the whole, people (male and female) squander that opportunity, fall into stereotyped roles and lead boring as fuck lives.

Morgan stanley stats
http://www.efinancialnews.com/story/2012-01-27/morgan-stanley-mds-2012

17.6% MD's now
10 years ago that would have been around 3%
Factor in that only around 7 or 8% of Morgan Stanley intakes are female, and you can see that females actually get a much better chance of making MD at Morgan Stanley than your typical white male Harvard MBA will

I kind of don't disagree with you on that either, but I'm more interested in the reasons that occurs than anything else.

But besides that, again, you've been the one singling out and demonising women complaining they've forced men to change, there's been no hint of anything about 'all people' being the same in those points you've chosen to make about women ... completely the opposite really

Contender for the inaugural Mister Soils Bags Charm Award?

Well what I mean is I don't think of myself as being part of this collective thing known as 'men', I don't have that sense of gender fraternity that seems to make up part of the popular female identity.

Feel free to do so mate, its a forum after all and any opinion and exchange of views is the whole point of being here :)

Really, I'm being told I have to go to bed and perform sexual acts for the benefit of the woman who controls me. But...no, theres too much...Kirchner? Shes only there as a puppet for her criminal ex-president husband.

She's bent as fuck. Gorgeous with it. PC Who? I met her and the Chilean President WHO WAS ALSO A WOMAN!! four years ago in Patagonia. We bumped into them, literally, on a street in Punta Arenas. My g/f thought she looked like a trollop.

Been some interesting research done on how stereortypes (particularly in advertising) affect the sexes. In short, it fucks over girls' grades in traditionally "male" subjects (maths, science) but not boys' grades. Girls presented with more positive (or just neutral) images of women before taking exams do significantly better than expected based on previous test scores. Am not a girl so wouldn't rightly know but there's pretty good evidence that the existence of gender stereotypes tends to create gender stereotypes.

No argument there, I think she is great ( whew better be careful what im saying here, dont want to be labelled as a sexist)
As far as puppet, well thats the norm, its politics, south american politics is about as dirty as you can get

The only reason she got elected was cos she appeals to the lower class in Argentina and in 2015 she can push her " social inclusion" manifesto

Just watched drugstore cowboy with the missus for her 1st time (i'm on about 7/8 sadly)

Just feel so low atm, after reading stuff like Basketball diaries or watching dugstore cowboy I get this black mood of total gloom come over me. Just walked out the bedroom from sex because I was so fed up. I look back & see 23 years of my life gone up in MArijuana smoke & just under a 1/3rd of my life smoking or shooting smack, it looks a total fucking waste of my time.
Just feel like saying fuck it, It aint worth the effort to stay clean from the gear & go back to the smack in some weird way I can't fully get my head round, or just shoot .5g of gear & say goodbye to this shit.

FUcking had enough of everybody & everything atm :\

Why is it so surprising that the figure has change over the last ten years? In the past, women have been discriminated against as par for the course, as laws change to actively prevent that discrimination and cultures change from previously being a male dominated sector, to one were those attitudes are no longer allowed when it comes to selecting candidates. That doesn't mean women are getting preferential treatment or benefiting from positive discrimination, it just means that they no longer face as much institutionalized discrimination that's been culturally the norm for a long time. I'd expect that figure to keep climbing for a long while yet

yet you assume women do, since you refer to them as a negative collective. again, bizarre

If you don't think of yourself as part of 'this collective thing known as men', then why express distaste at the manner in which you think society has shaped them? Why be concerned at all?

I don't think this 'popular female identity' exists. Maybe certain aspects of the media like to pretend it does, but in reality it doesn't. There's not even much agreement among feminist commentators, let alone the genral populace.

And women can't experience 'fraternity' by virtuee of being female; it'd be 'sorority' if anything, but that's a cheap point that I don't intend to run with.

The only thing that really unifies women is that despite all the gains, both real and illusory, they're still ultimately second-class citizens.

( whew better be careful what im saying here, dont want to be labelled as a sexist)

As I've said before, appreciating somebody's looks isn't sexist. I talked about tits for about two pages, for fuck's sake.

Stop making this out to be what it isn't.

Ok you wont get any argument from me there
fact remains that women who enter Morgan Stanley have TWICE the chance of making MD within 6 years as per entrant when you extrapolate it to each employee regardless of gender
There is something wrong with this stat

Women are twice as smart? or guys are half as dumb?
Or as anyone suspects, does it mean women have double the chance of getting promoted at the bank ?

I know which one I think it is
