mine gets worse as winter progresses. i have a hot water bottle on my back as I've snapped the ligaments again

the lowest two she did say numbers but i forget which. i just stretched wrong it happens very easily now i can't sit up for at least 3 weeks thank god for my anti pressure mattress.

Just thought I'd check in...

As we all know, Opioids often cause constipation symptoms and this week, after 7 years of experience with opioids both socially and eventually for medical purposes I never have had a problem with opiates screwing up my digestive track. This week I spent 3 hours in the emergency room because I developed a bowl obstruction in my intestine and I must say the level of pain was tremendous. I take supplements and laxatives and all that every day yet somehow this still happened....

Any of you had this extreme a problem with your digestive track and if you did what you did to amend the situation.

I take daily: Magnesium supplements, Fiber supplements and Senokot S. Is this really not enough to combat my methadone and oxy IR prescriptions. My pain Doctor is convinced that this happening after 8 months with him all of a sudden can't just be chalked up to the narcotics.

Advice, comments?

Bigg...
Unlike you, I suffer from constipation on a regular basis and it's really bad. I also am HORRIBLE about remembering to take meds to help the situation.
I wonder if it's something as simple as something you ate ( even if it was quite a while ago). Maybe the meds you're utilizing have kept you regular, but I imagine eating the wrong thing could slowly cause a blockage. Do you remember any change in diet, or eating anything weird? I feel like if something hardened you up, even if just for a day or two, that the blockage took accumulation of some type, if this makes sense?
Just an idea.

Hey y'all<3
Doing much better, finally got some meds,Norco 7.5/325 (2 every 4 hours), and has made a huge difference in the knee pain and muscle pain. Although now, I might....might, be looking at knee replacement surgery, I'll know more on Oct.30. So for now, a big sigh of relife.
Brighton, thank you for asking, I was down in the black deep that day, horrible 'no hope' feeling. Its not so bad today, but our luck has been up a little and I've eaten pretty well for the last two days, so my sugar isn't all over the place. I just got done with some cantalope with prosciutto, pure heaven.
Doomie, *gentle hugz<3* sending postive thoughts your way. You can make it!
Mr.Bigg, I agree with Macd, maybe something you ate triggered the blockage. Either way, its very dangerous and painful. I have a suggestion, how about a bottle of magnisium sulfate once a week? A bottle of that would clean out an oil well, and has saved my life on more than one occasion, being bound up tighter than Dicks hatband. ugh!
JK, when you take your Vicodin, don't you take a Benadryl too? It stops that itchin' mess. I'd tear my nose off if I didn't.
Off tto make some Christmas ornaments, lots of beadwork, helps keep my mind off the fact I can't walk around without blasted crutches, I look like a flamingo on stilts.
Everybody have a pain free(or as close as you can get) day!

I'm extremely surprised that you've never had any issues with constipation, especially with the doses and medications you're on. My pain meds definitely have a pretty moderate to severe impact on my GI.

hi just seeing if anyone has anything to report today? How is everyone?

Hey buddy...long time no speak hope you're doing well.

I was not trying to imply I don't suffer from constipation-- just that my daily intake of 4 Sennakot S along with magnesium and fiber supplements have kept me in relatively good shape. My GI system locked up out of the blue last week and for the life of me I can't figure out why it happened. My PM Doc doesn't think a patient on opiate pain meds for 8 straight months all of a sudden cause an obstruction requiring a trip to the ER.

Been cutting back on solid food intake....50% smoothies and protein shakes daily and I'm feeling better.....SLOWLY.

Tri, hit me up sometime on AIM and check in...

hi just seeing if anyone has anything to report today? How is everyone?

I got my Kanna tincture in the mail today. After months/years of depression I feel amazing. As in motivated, happy and much less anxious. All I have to do now is figure out a dosing regimine that wont spin me into mania =D Had a really good pain week too, no opiates, havent had to even use my TENS. Yay.

How are you macd?

I got a new medication Nucynta 75mg 2x aday.

I just took my first dose Nucynta.

The others I haven't. I'm worry about new meds and interactions

I also have lyric 100mg and Roboxin 750mg. I have taken Roboxin
before. It really does no good.

But the others I haven't. I'm worry about new meds and interactions.

Has anybody taken this before and what should I expect?

My pm dr said he has never seen anybody so younge with all of medical conditions.

I think it's kicking in I feel dizzy and it took me 3 cigs to write this post.

Hi! things have gone nuts here in the last few days. I had to go to the er Mon night due to horrible pain in my bladder. got ct scan and dr told me everything there looked fine, but I have a small (2cm) cyst on my ovary.
I'm sure md is correct about cyst, but that DEFINITELY wasn't what was bothering me....and I CERTAINLY wont be getting it surgically removed like he told me to!!! I've been having a rough time urinating for a couple of months, and this pain was made worse when trying to pee.
Already had an appt w urologist on the 18'th for ct scan so called him to let him know I got one already and er will send him a copy. He already told me if nothing showed up on scan he would want to do a cystoscopy (sp?) where they go in w a camera through the urethra in order to see inside the bladder. He told me that inflammation or cancer of bladder lining would not show up on a ct.
Meantime, my child has been home sick since Monday and has an appt today.
WOW, lots of shit, huh?

Brighton, hope you're doing well on the self control front lol!
Michael, glad you had such a great day.
Coraline, PLEASE let us know how the Nucynta works out. I've been wondering about that bc my md has brought it up as a possibility if my oxycodone loses its effectiveness again. I'm on that (60-75mg every 4 hours as needed for breakthrough pain) and 100mcg Fentanyl patch....how does Nucynta compare to either of those drugs, if you have experience with them? I'd really appreciate anything you could tell me.

Hope everyone has another good day, and for those who aren't feeling so hot...hope it gets better, my thoughts are with our little community here :)

^ damn just read up on Nucynta/Tapentadol, im jealous! How has is been the rest of the day? Sounds like your a bit giddy =D

I was in ZERO PAIN!!

I felt so happy, good, relaxed, and all the positive effects from the medication.

I did feel nauseated a little and had a weird feeling headache. I slep with a bag for the just in case moment.

I did read up on it. It has an effect on noreperniphrine I think it has to do with keeping more of it in the synaptic gap.

I don't like anti depressants. I don't like new drugs. Some make me feel like death or I'm dying.

I like hearing about first person accounts of the Nucynta effects.

Drug companies make all meds sound like they are the best thing since the wheel was made.

I took my morning dosage. My pain is less. I'm getting a slight headache again.

How are you doing Brighton?

How is everybody doing today?

I know the seasons are changing and people may feel better or worst.

What helps your pain when the weather changes? And tricks or tips?

Coraline, How does Nucynta compare with oxycodone immediate release if you've tried it?
thanks!!!

I am good, thanks... I find that I get headaches from larger doses of opiates. This is quickly resolved by taking 1 or 2 (325mg) aspirin as soon as I feel it coming on. If your tummy doesn't like aspirin, then take some aloe vera with it or some peppermint oil extract gel caps. This really helps me... :!
