Don't start watching The Thick Of It from the episodes that are on the now. Make sure you watch it from the beginning. You'll think it's shite from the first couple of episodes of this series, not because they're shite but just that you won't get the context & the suspense that it's building up to something - Namely Malcom going off on a fucking rager in the most hilarious way.

His evil plan coming together in this weeks episode was outstanding. I nearly applauded when it all fell into place =D

lol, if you say so

They did. That's why he got binned after 2 series, everyone thought he was a cunt. He made people walk off the show because he kept going too far.

Anyone watching the CH4 expose on cruise ships/wage exploitation 8pm-9pm?

Fuck me ... I knew it was bad, but not that bad. Chinese guys got a contract for 10 months out of a year. with NO day off.

The english reporter who's got a job as an assistant waiter got lied to by an agency and told he was getting £640 per month, turns out it's £480 and the agency lied, but he didnt get his contract until the ship had sailed and couldn't check in advance. £640 was piss poor, since he's working 80+ hours a week (and having to do unpaid training in his time off too) ... on £480 per month it works out at something like £1.53per hr ... the rest he's got to get in tips.

and the hours/shifts are fucking brutal ... something like 4hrs on 4hrs off.

the people employed from places like Indonesia and China aren't covered by UK law either and get even less, as the shipping firm are based in Liberia, so they can bypass all EU laws.

He just extended Mark Lamarr's style IMO, I think he did a brilliant job.....the one time I did think he went too far was with poor Bill Oddie, who was being a bellend for sure, but you could see he was really quite upset and floundering and didn't know how to handle the pisstaking.

I just sent my (female) friend this picture of Mark Lamarr during a conversation about how there's loads of guys that look like her (even though she's actually pretty good looking), it's just a running joke to annoy her.

I said it was her outside her work having an angry snout break. She hasn't got back to me since. I think I've went too far hahaha.

Before the Lamarr comment she'd said this "So now we've got cunt fae one direction, cunt fae the view, cunt far glasvegas, gok wan, buddy fucking holly. Might as well accept defeat here and grow a dick." Then I hit her with Mark Lamarr, now I think she's genuinely raging. Yas! =D

There was a programme on a few weeks ago, an undercover boss type thing, where the owner went on to one of the cruise ships as a worker and talked to the employees to see how it was, conclusion was that it wasn't great. They worked long hours, and the pay was pretty low by Western standards but if you were from the Philippines you were doing alright for yourself even if you did have to knock your cunt in. The boss ended up sending a few of them on paid holidays with their families to Disney Land. No mention of putting the wages up though. :\

Mark Lamarr had a way of slagging folk off where you could tell, even though he was being a total cunt, that it was all in jest. Simon Amsetell didn't seem to be able to pull that off. That wasn't what I disliked about him, it was all the 'randomness' like him doing an episode in a pink bunny outfit for no apparent reason and other pointless things. The show went downhill, viewing figures dropped, Amstell was sacked....

I just watched the Bill Oddie episode, thought it was funny, and I didn't see anything unpleasant about the Amstell/Oddie dynamic. Oddie was funnier than I expected, and he took the jibes in good humour. There was one moment where he seemed uncomfortable, but I think he was just thinking of something to say.

Phil Jupitus grates on me a bit though.

It takes a bit of abstract thought to like the Boosh. You don't have to be stoned. I don't get stoned either. Ever.

Julian Barratt is a bit of a comic genious, with kick arse taste in music, and Noel Fielding is equally abstract and surreal and rather godlike. Together they're rather perfect. I like Rich Fulcher too, despite him doing CBB commentary. Snuff Box was rather pleasant.

Julian Barratt is brilliant, prefer his dry, downtrodden character (dunno if that's his actual persona but he seems typecast to it) to Fielding's happy-go-lucky man-about-town. He's excellent in Nathan Barley too. And I agree about the music. Best bit of Boosh is the music. Fuller is top too.

I get stoned once or twice a year but I've never watched Boosh stoned, nor do I think being stoned helps me enjoy TV, ever.

Ok if you don't need to be stoned for it then it's just shite from what I've seen.
