It's cos we're a rain sodden, down trodden, overcast nation that causes us to walk around with our hoods pulled up & looking at the ground, the government know they can do what they want with us and we'll take it. If we were a fiery mediterranean nation with red wine running through our veins they'd think twice.

I think they've still to bring in the minimum alcohol pricing thing in Scotland. Fuck knows what that'll do the the price of cheap cider :(

I'm sure there's collusion between the offies and the coppers / licensing authorities around here, because cheapo trampagne is still very much available at the same prices in most shops.

Aye, but I don't think it's started yet. I also thought it was only in Scotland? The price-per-unit thing.

It was proposed at 40p a unit for England and Wales back in March (then 50p later on), but you're right; it isn't in force yet.

A lot of supermarkets and chains saw it as an excuse to voluntarily hike prices though, being the socially-responsible souls they are.

The Scots?

Have you ever met a Scottish person?

No BLers fuck ups who talk about the price of booze!

Also yes, my parents sent me to Scotland when I was 11 to study English, first time I was away from home alone, loved taking the night bus in Aberdeen on my own and getting chips thrown at me by the local kids!!

@40p a unit that makes a can of Brew less than £2.00 . It goes for £7.50 for a 4 pack in Sainsburys but if you want a single they take the piss . It's about £2.89 & gets cheaper the further you go from the city centre down to £1.70 in the Ghetto;)
So that won't make any difference .
The places that have a big market for K , Tennents , Brew all that stuff buy it in huge bulk & get it pretty cheap , they sell a good few palates of it a day .

^ lol

Probably Spade returning from special school. His parents kept trying to send him away but they didn't realise he was capable of reading a bus timetable.

I've smoked roll-ups for so long I nearly fell off my chair when someone told me the price of a pack of straights. I would urge you all to get on the baccy (the key is menthol filters if you can get over the stigma) but I won't as it'll only push the prices up.

Exactly the same deal here. Fiver for a four-pack in some places, though sometimes only if you're known.

Fuck... life without everyday drinking is going to be a hard road. Oh well.

Yeah under the counter like . In my city they tried to ban the sale of all H/S cider & lager from the city centre cos of the tourists getting intimidated . It actually happened for a while.
