^ I prefer Dutch Goudas, but also like my Italian cheeses, to go with the stuff below.

Got to love Italian sausage hanging in a bar.

I get one sweet and one hot dried sausage, and one each of the dried sopressata as well. Delish

How can an Englishman debate culinary cuisine? The best meal I ever had in London was at an Indian restaurant.

Don't get me started about having to drink gravy at the football rather than an ice cold beer :(

The best thing about British cuisine is the various Indian/Chinese/Thai restaurants and takeaways on offer.

I'd consider a kebab equally as British as cottage pie, and much more tasty too.

Britain IS multicultural. Our culture is comprised up of a hundred other cultures. Apart from the gang warfare and racism betwen ethnic minorities, it's become quite a nice thing. Ignore the white caucasian skin headed chavs who spout venom and hatred because they want to.

Half the 'chavs' I've known and worked with are racist because they enjoy it. They love to go down the chippie late at night and 'sort out the packis' behind the counter, before pegging it when they bring the machetes out from under the counter...This actually happened 8(

Luckily most folk who think like this seemed to be stuck in a dead end job that they both hated but couldn't afford to leave.

We've got plenty of Indian, Chinese, Thai, Caribbean, Greek, Meixcan, Polish, and of course Italian and Irish places to get good food.

I think English and American cuisine (I mean dished native to them, not foreign takeout places) is actually quite similar, except Americans barbeque more, and you seem to cook it all in the oven. The only thing I cook in the oven in Roast Beef, Turkey, and some pork.

The sausage is a foul delivery method of meat and its just out dated. I grill a rare steak on my weber if I want meat, but I guess food cost is a lot less here.

BBQ>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Oven -Fact

There is some good sausage to be had. One of my favorites is the wheel with cheese and parsley.

You American diners seem much more into tex mex, fajitas, tacos, and the rest. There's none of that here in England. Either there's no market for it or people just think it doesn't taste good enough...

The closest we have to text mex is 'old el paso' fajita kits, which are gorgeous but a bit of an expensive treat. I don't think Brits want what you're eating over there though. There's a long standing believe that Americans eat like shit and get fat like shit, and I feel Taco Bell is living proof of that mentality.

If you ever come to England, be sure to notice the lack of morbidly obese people hobbling around town centres. Our diet my need some improvement, but the American diet has the potential to kill its citizens young and unpleasantly.

It's not the American diet that has Americans obese. It's the Italian diet here that consists of a lot of pasta, making Italian-Americans more obese than most other Americans. African-Americans are obese due to their diet of fried foods and heavy side dishes. Irish-Americans that are obese are so because of their beer drinking. The rest of the obese Americans are obese because they are lazy, and either eat too much or drink too much, or are busy and just have a horrible diet of fast-food 2x a day. Having said that, I don't see as many obese people as I used to, and Taco Bell sure isn't the reason why we had a bunch of them in the first place. Taco Bell goes right through you, so theres not much of a chance for your body to absorb the grease.

I have yet to experience they joy of taco bell. I hear interesting things about it though. Reckon its worth a try? Perhaps I can get some delivered.

I haven't gone there in years. It's mostly contruction workers, high school students, or bachelors that ever eat there. Of course us stoners go there as well, but only late night. It's not that bad, but it's basic stuff that they just throw together. You can't go wrong with a regular crunchy taco though. Just beef, cheese, & lettuce on a shell.

High tea is England's only noteworthy contribution to cuisine, and only because it works better when you have hired help to serve it. Even better when the help is not paid. Slavery ftw

Haggis.

That is all :p

Haggis is the greatest British dish of all time... hands down! Making myself a mental note to pick one up next time I go to the supermarket. Black pudding is also sublime, but buying it from anywhere other than Bury market would be a crime against humanity! Those packaged black puddings you get from supermarkets are bloody awful.

For all you Americans, how common are manual drive cars? I can't understand why anybody other than Heather Mills would choose to drive an automatic, but I'm led to believe it's the norm?

Also the big debate, whats with the lack of a roach in your spliffs? Don't you get a mouth full of bud? Any saving your 'roach clips' or whatever you call them? Just stick a roach in it and smoke it to the end! I'm not gonna mention baccy in a spliff just yet ;-)

I wouldn't discount the deep fried Mars bar Kate.

4wd automatics are far superior as you don't lose traction as soon as you engage the clutch.

Fair point, never had any need to drive off road, so never driven a 4wd. I'd hazard a guess the same goes for most American's....

What's all this about no decent Mexican food in the UK? My city has at least five Mexican restaurants, ranging from Chiquito style mass market fajitas/burritos to high end Latin American fare. I love it all and visit one of the five on a weekly basis. Chipotle FTW!
