There's been a recent flood of Mexican-style restaurants/bars open up over here lately. Not sure how it compares to traditional food but they are fucking tasty!

For all you Americans, how common are manual drive cars? I can't understand why anybody other than Heather Mills would choose to drive an automatic, but I'm led to believe it's the norm?

Already covered that here, but they are pretty common in the country, and get less common towards the city. I'm the only one in my family that has owner a car that is manual, and one of the only ones out of my friends that can drive one. I went to school in the country and everyone there could drive a manual.

I'm glad these annoying American posts are being highlighted. The Ecstasy discussion forum is a joke, where every other post is along the lines "I dropped last month, can I drop again this weekend" or some variant. To supplement these posts there also an endless supply of stupid stuff. For instance on the first page right now we have "How do I tell my Mom" and "Shall I drop at the prom".

I think its down to the mods to clamp down on those ridiculous posts and make the Ecstasy forum a place worth visiting for serious posters.

It seems to me that in order for BL to promote it's harm reduction message as widely as possible, it needs to attract and retain as wide as possible a demographic. This includes less clued-up users. In fact it is essential to appeal to the less clued-up because they are the ones that most need to hear the HR message!

So no, I don't think the mods should "clamp down".

You American diners seem much more into tex mex, fajitas, tacos, and the rest. There's none of that here in England. Either there's no market for it or people just think it doesn't taste good enough...

The closest we have to text mex is 'old el paso' fajita kits, which are gorgeous but a bit of an expensive treat. I don't think Brits want what you're eating over there though. There's a long standing believe that Americans eat like shit and get fat like shit, and I feel Taco Bell is living proof of that mentality.

If you ever come to England, be sure to notice the lack of morbidly obese people hobbling around town centres. Our diet my need some improvement, but the American diet has the potential to kill its citizens young and unpleasantly.

The obesity thing is definitely regional here - you see a lot less porkers in London than in smaller towns. Reckon it must be because people get about by foot more (and there is a paucity of Greggs outlets). I guess it'd be the same in somewhere like NY.

Well I am an American, I have ADHD, I graduated COLLEGE when I was 24, I also played 8 years of American Football and suffer from the pain of three knee surguries, two ligaments blown in my ankle, and partially torn ligaments in my shoulder. Obesity is a much bigger problem up here in the north. It seems like there are half a dozen takeaways per person where you can get a full pizza for like £2. In a lot of the South you are prohibited by getting as mega fat as some of the Northerners by the sheer price of junk food.

Obesity is directly linked to Poverty among other factors but that is the biggest by far.
Their are poor people all over the country.
Also theirs no end of shite Junk Food all over McDonalds n all the big boys have the same prices Nationwide except in Airports n such.

Anyway theirs no doubt millions of obese that we don't ever see cos they don't or can't leave the house.

What's all this about no decent Mexican food in the UK? My city has at least five Mexican restaurants, ranging from Chiquito style mass market fajitas/burritos to high end Latin American fare. I love it all and visit one of the five on a weekly basis. Chipotle FTW!

Observations so far amount to the above more or less (fuckin' whiny ill-educated morons trying to get high on fuckin' reeeee-dick scripts) alongside some genuinely hilarious and well-informed other US folks who abound (mostly in PD, tbh). OD is pure US-junky Central and bears little or no relevance to UK/EU interests beyond comedy at best. BDD much the same only more so. CD & ED... bwahahahahahahahahahaha

EADD - great (cos it's home) but also pretty inward-looking and can be harsh to "outsiders". Definitely way friendlier and easier to get a decent response out of than "US" based forums though. Win

"Mixed" fora are just US fora with UK/EU nobs on (if they're lucky).
