i previously thought them to be simply a race of giant warriors who got pwnd by the xenomorphs, thus eliciting a greater sense of doom and futility from the puney humans.

I always thought the Xenomorphs were designed by the Space Jockeys as bio weapons or something.

^^^ that's been sort of my impression since following what Prometheus is supposed to be about. Except I feel the Xenomorphs might be some sort of byproduct/mistake that resulted from their... 'projects' or whatever it is they're up too... not long til we find out I guess.

yeah that gun thing he jockeys can certainly shoot projectiles the size of facesucker eggs, but then how did they get done by their own weapons. didn't the original space jockey have a burst chest cavity?

Yes it did. Perhaps the Prometheus crew had something to do with it?

I know the movie won't show any xenomorphs but maybe they will show at least an egg or somehow explain it. God damn it all this waiting is killing me. I'm gonna go watch MIB III to get my mind off it.

i really like how they marketed this film. they kept much under wraps at first. then they were like "there are no aliens in this movie" and they are still promoting it as a completely different story, yet the presence of the space jockey alive, along with a big money shot of the jockey's ship collapsing seem to indicate it is more of a prequel than the makers are suggesting... all this conflicting info is creating uncertain expectation. ... which in turn improves the film going experience. ..

i dunno if it is deliberate or if i am imagining it in the alcohol i've had tonight ... still a thought worth at least two cents.
