Heroin How hard is to shoot yourself up the first time?

Please take a breath and realize that everyone here is simply trying to help you Emily. There's no need to be so defensive.
Now, regarding your situation, it seems to me that this person is indeed trying to take advantage of you in some way. I can't entirely say what way that is, people have thier different motives after all, but the fact that more than one person here came to this(rather obvious) conclusion should say something to you.
You would do well to cut ties with this person and anyone else involved with this kind of scene.

I'm being defensive because everyone is ganging up on me. I came on here to get an answer to a question. I've read through alot of different posts on this site and people generally get answers to their questions without being persecuted. I understand that people are trying to be helpful but all I wanted was some answers to a simple question.

"This person" is not taking advantage of me. He doesn't force me to take the drugs. Other than the first time he never even offers them to me. I ask him for them. The first couple of times he told me that I might want to stop taking it but I decided I wanted to keep doing it. He's done nothing wrong. I wish people would stop bad mouthing him since they don't know what they're talking about.

ignoring all the replies, i'm going to answer topic's question

yes, it is hard, and to be honest - i was trying to i.v. maybe a dozen of times before i could actually get it "right". I was always all shaky and getting out of the vein, no matter what I was trying to shoot up (not heroin though, not thinking about it). And the first time i actually succedeed in 100% was the time i took .5mg clonazepam before shot so I could get calmer and steadier.

If it isn't working for you and you're getting shaky etc. it IS a sign you propably shouldn't be doing it. I'm telling you because even after those tries to i.v. i wasn't convinced that much to i.v., but the first time I did it right with help of clonazepam, I no longer fear i.v. and I feel like I could do it anytime anyday even without help of benzo. It changes your attitude.

Thank you for answering my question. I watched it being shot into me yesterday for the first time; I always looked away because I was nervous I would get sick watching a needle go in my arm. I actually didn't feel sick or anything watching. I just worry if I could do it myself because I'm a bit of a spazz.

The drugs themselves will force you to take more of the drugs. He will simply be the guy who happens to have those drugs, which puts him in a position of power. I'm not saying he will abuse that position, but we just hope you see that it is possible.

I have not attempted it on my own yet. I have checked out the I.V. threads on here. My question was more of a "did you find it be easy" than a how do you do it step by step.

I'm sorry to be so blunt, but if you didn't want anyone to give you the kind of advice you've been given, then you shouldn't have painted the picture you did with your posts. You admitted several times that you know what you're doing is not the right way to fix/alleviate your problems. Did you expect anyone here to disagree? You should listed to yourself and others here and stop now.

Yes, I agree that some of the posters here are jerks and were too harsh in their replies, but you run that risk in any public forum. There have also been several posters that have offered truly good advice.

Although you're currently not able to PM any non-staff members, I very much recommend that you speak with some of the OD or possibly TDS staff members. I believe these are some of the people(on this site) who can help you best and who may know what you're going through. I certainly don't want to speak for them, but I can definitely say the TDS and OD staff are amazing people and will do what they can to help.

I doubt that he doesn't use. How would he know how to shoot you up, and how much to use? Heroin isn't something that someone that doesnt use can just eyeball a beginner dose out for, especially IV.

I don't see any needle marks anywhere on his body. We have sex so I'm pretty sure I'd notice. I don't know how he knows all this stuff other than it's his business to know this stuff. He does sell it although he mostly sells coke which he told me he'll never let me try because it's a killer. Not that I really care, I'm happy with the heroin.

If you didn't want people to give you the harsh reality, then you shouldn't have given your oh so sad back story. You set yourself up in such a manor that it doesn't seem right for anyone to give you advice and let you continue down this path that you so abruptly stumbled on.

People that know gow to IV properly and use a new syringe each time don't really get track marks.

I've known a couple IV users that don't have track marks... at least that I could see. Just because you can't see any doesn't mean the guy isn't using. Unless this guy is a trained medical professional he probably has some experience with IVing heroin.

I'm not gonna preach to you as you have obviously made the choice to use regardless of the consequences.

I'm just gonna say that it is extremely risky and that you sound inexperienced (I mean going from weed to IVing dope IS a pretty big leap just saying) so when and if you do decide to do it yourself, make sure you don't use that much. A good way (not perfect but better than nothing) of judging purity is by smoking/snorting a little bit of it. That can also help you judge your own tolerance. Also it might be a good idea to go to the local needle exchange and get yourself some Naloxone (in Seattle the needle exchanges you can buy a bottle for under a dollar I dunno if you can wherever you are). If you overdose that can save your life. Also please for the love of God the first few times you try it yourself have someone there with you just in case you do overdose. No one here wants you to die because you thought you could handle more than you can.

It wasn't my intention to come across "maid-in-distressed-esqued". However, going back and re-reading my initial post I can see how one might draw that conclusion. Sometimes I say too much when I don't really need to. It's a bad habit of mine.

Hitting an artery is bad because it hurts like hell and it fucks up your artery. You could lose your arm if you inject into an artery.

For one veins don't hurt lol Also you can't feel a pulse on veins on arteries you can.

Hey Em, if it burns at all then you have to stop. It usually means that you are not in the vein properly, but if it stings like a mofo then it might be an artery you are in, and you would know right away.

I don't like it when people shoot up but I'd rather you do it safely and not get hurt. So in order for you to have nice veins drink lots of water to keep a healthy blood pressure and right before you shoot up get a small towel and soak it in hot water and put it over your intended vein and it should pop up and will be more visible.

Thank you both. I will keep that in mind. And I have been thinking about trying to snort or smoke it. I was talking to a girl I know this morning who said she might be able to hook me up sometime so I can try it that way. So, if I like it that way maybe I'll switch.

If its tar heroin then you can smoke it, and if it's powder heroin you can sniff it. SC might get both, so I'm not really sure. Almost every state on the east coast has powder, but the Carolina's may be different.
