s'pissing down and a nearby river's probably gonna burst its banks in the next hour after being barren for the last month. ridiculous amounts of rain. great fer taddies though.

The apostrophe would be substituting for the I in is, or for It is, where you have placed it is just where there should be a space left.

Also, how can you shorten a word by lengthening it???????? :sus:
 
Hmm I have to side with mugz here. Compare with 'tis, short for it is.

'spissing is how Shakespeare would have wrote it.
 
it is, shortened to it's ... shortened to s'p ... the 'it' just got made redundant ... and then s got joined with pissing, hence s'pissing.

no clue what was lengthened in the above.

and lol @ shakespeare ... unlike me, I doubt he'd be making such an abortion of 3 words in the first place

No, you are wrong, t'internet is fine because the apostrophe is where the h and the e in the word the would be but because the missing letters are before the s in s'pissing the apostrophe should be before. Basic grammar.

I disagree - Scrooloose just wanted to know if that was the case (if posts had been removed). You've finally answered the question though! Answer being: no.
 
Mugz -I'd rather not.

Knock - I answered the question some time ago as it happens: try post #264. Though if you were preoccupied with responding to Mugz' explanation of the standard procedures for pursuing complaints of the kind put forward by scrooloose then I suppose you may have glossed over it.
