I do think, however, that attempts to marginalise these groups makes them political martyrs. Better to give them their chance to show themselves for what they are - thugs led by skilled orators in suits, just like the BNP have shown themselves to be utterly laughable when handed the smallest crumb of power from the table.
I totally agree. But this debate wasn't about 'no platform for fascists'. It was about whether fascism itself was inherently anti-democratic and therefore shouldn't be 'worked with' (in alliance).
I could maybe bring up parallels with arguments against censorship in EADD, but I'm not that snide. Today.
Again, this debate was not about censoring fascism. My anti-censorship view stands. I never mentioned censoring them. I talked about not working with something that was inherently anti-democratic in a democracy. So bring up any parallels you wish.
So basically, yeah, it does boil down to the fact you don't like that ideology.
Basically it boils down to me not caring a fig for what you have to say. You're arguments are trite and based in first year undergraduate prejudice. You're an irrelevance to me.
