@ Urbain: I think you may have just cured Sam's unruly semi.

also, it's impossible to give any contextual feedback on your upper gains without first seeing them in context with the lower ones. a full body rear shot would solve this problem however ..

you know what to do ... =D

[definition looks amazing. really lean, well proportioned imo. no clue how you managed it in the lower back muscles.]

Nice work Urbain. Your lats in particular are looking good from what I can see. Have you been doing any exercises to work your traps? They are the only muscles I can see that look a little out of proportion. Maybe it's the angle of the pic?

@ Urbain: I think you may have just cured Sam's unruly semi.

That hasn't been cured by anything without a school uniform since about 2001. Though I must agree, that's a lot of work you've put in there, Urbain.

On the subject of semis (and actually on topic), I can personally vouch for the positive effects of some form of regular resistance training on the male libido. As impossible as it may seem to believe, this here King Of Love lost his sex drive almost completely once or twice, and doing some pressups was pretty effective; almost as effective, in fact, as getting my girlfriend to wear her 13-year-old sister's knickers. But that's another sordid story I probably shouldn't have told.

Just in case you read Bluelight on occasion, M******, I'm truly sorry. You did it though. And maybe we should finally catch up some time soon.

I'm going to make weekly posts in this thread with increasingly big lies about my progress.

I tried my best to get her to stay for the weekend a couple of times, but alas there was no joy. :D

I should really stop posting things like this.

I could tell instantly it's Sam as soon as her started dancing. What an absolute predator! Some say the greatest sex offender of his days!!

I knew about muscle fascias but I have never thought of them as sacks. I thought fascia tissue was just responsible for connecting one muscle to the next? Is the pain you're describing similar to shin splints? They really suck.

Fascia completely encases every individual muscle group from insertion to insertion, sack is not an ideal description (nor the word I'd use) but it pretty much fits the bill.

I've never had this problem, but I watched a program about selection for the Royal Marines and one of the applicants on there got diagnosed with it after repeatedly failing his distance run (despite being super fit). Essentially it's a constriction of the muscle, inhibiting blood flow and causing a massive buildup of lactic acid. So just really fatigued, burning muscles that can't keep working.

Got a new more reliable gym buddy it would appear so just going to do legs and biceps later. Also got this new programme off shredded, apparently it's Zyzz old work out, looks the ticket

3 sets of Incline Flies, 8-10 reps
3 sets of Chest Dips until failure
3 sets of Barbell Curls, 8-10 reps
3 sets of Preacher Curls, 8-10 reps, then drop the weight to half, and push out another 8

Slightly different to my current programme but think I'll give it a bash. Feeling fresh as today early night last night, up at 7.30, porridge with banana and a boiled egg on toast, walked the dog, then a fried egg on half a toasted roll, cottage cheese on the other half...Gym time soon, sunbed and a munch, quiet weekend %)

With my split I always do chest and triceps+shoulders, biceps and back, and legs+abs, on the same day as each other. I put the legs on the middle day to give my arms a break. I focus on the compound exercises, and only do a couple of isolation exercises for each muscle group. I also make sure that I do my bench press/dead lift/squats first because for me they are the best exercises, and I want to get the most out of those lifts. If I want to lift 6 days i'll just repeat the cycle with a break on Sunday. If not then I leave 2 or 3 days in the middle and start over.

Have you ever done arnie 21's RS? They are by far my favorite bicep isolation exercise. Your forearms and your biceps just feel absolutely fucked afterwards.

I was going to say that too Mr SB. I would do back with biceps because if you do pull ups with your palms facing towards you (the most common form) you will work both of them. Whereas when you do chest your triceps are also worked when getting the weight up to its full height (on bench press that is). Basically when I was really working out id do:

M: Shoulders + abs
T: Legs + abs
W: off day
T: Chest + triceps + abs
F: Back + Biceps + abs
S:off day
S: strictly cardio + abs

and yes Arnolds are a good exercise, same thing with Shrugs, simple to do and your traps are a noticeable muscle.

and thats not say its the end all of workout plans, just the one I found the most successful for me while not wearing me out after every workout.

wait are you talking about the Arnold shoulder exercise or the 21s bicep exercise (7 low, 7 high, 7 full motion)? both are good I just always called em 21s must be a UK thing

I'm talking about the 7 low, 7 high, 7 full one. I was under the impression arnie was the inventor?

I like the traps exercises too.

He may have been idk, I just know theres a shoulder exercise called Arnolds by some that is basically a sitting shoulder press with freeweights except you spin them around so your palms are facing you when you lower the weights. As you raise them back up you spin the weights so your palms face outwards at the peak.Theyre a lot harder than just palms out shoulder press

Yeah mate do them when I do barbell curls. I think arnie actually stole the exercise from the 300 work out. The spartans or whatever they're called used to do them, I've not seen the film yet but the lad in the gym told me it comes from that not arnie, fuck knows.

Been reading alot about Zyzz and Chestbrah, what absolute legends!!

That work out is not what I'm on yet. Til now I've been doing chest & biceps, back, shoulders & triceps, legs & biceps. I do abs most days aswell. But I think I'll change to that programme. I'm going to start working on that V for your abs soon with the side sit ups. Did 100 with a 5kg ball above my head today after I'd done legs & biceps, then 4 sets of 10 on the abs crunch machine and 3 sets of 10 on the pull up leg raises. Gave my biceps & legs an absolute beasting aswell literally a struggle to walk into town after the gym today.

Going to start that programme tomorrow with the saturday work out then sunday off and back on mon. Can't wait!! :D

how i am at the moment, a year + on from previous pics, bearing in mind ive hardly put any effort in for the past year, but been heavy on the healthy eating during the week. although binge eating and binge drinking heavily on the weekends. must have balanced out, although getting lower body fat, cant really see it here tho

I think thats fine, it looks like a body very fit through varied movement/stress, aka your work. There's a difference between bodies like yours and those created under artificial managed conditions aka the gym. My mate said he's never been fitter than when he was pouring concrete, there was not an inch of fat on him.

People should get their blood pressures & cholesterol levels checked though as what you look like on the outside can be very different to your internal fitness.
