Hey Acidtek you can join me on the wagon I started my taper down from 120mgs a day this week, I'm doing this one myself for various reasons I can't really seek support and don't think I really need it anyhow, I know what I've got to do and I feel in a good place to get it done. I'm due to be clean mid May so I'm taking it fairly easy although this week has been a bit difficult, I think 120 was good place to start but for the past couple of weeks I'd not even been keeping track and had gone way into smartie mode, seem to be settling down now though.

I'd be interested in sharing the taper plans although understand if you wouldn't want to, I'll PM you my addy but don't feel obliged in any way.

I went in asking for something I could have on the very odd occasion, less than once a week as I didn't wanna be taking something every day and relying on it like with the propopanols. Counter intuitive or what? Now tempted to get them illegally which I personally know is likely to be risky in that ill want to take em more often as Ill have loads. 8)

"Anything that actually works" I think were my words. I made it clear I'd only have em rarely as a backup/occasional use when I knew I'd be anxious, less than weekly. I don't like the idea of taking something every day and permanently changing my conciousness.

Unlike propopanol which just deals (slightly) with the physical side, and has rebound effects on cessation. Not worth it since they don't do much for me.

To be fair to your doctor, and I'm not one I can't see many other options for something that you could just take on occasion that would deal with anxiety other than Benzos which they are really not keen on prescribing at all.

Do you mean Propranolol I'm not so sure you can't just take this as and when rather than everyday, I though performers often used it for stage fright.

I'll leave it for someone more knowledgeable to give and opinion

Indeed I do mean that, the name is syllable-istically confusing tho XD

You can take them as and when but I don't find them much help. When I had them prescribed I was told to take 3 a day.

Yeah it deals with the shakes/sweats ok but I can deal with that myself, it's the mental side of it that gets me - inability to be able to converse/talk in certain social situations, over thinking everything and excessive self conciousness, purely mental.

She did say that valium and "that class" are the only thing that would properly work, and she wouldn't prescribe them because they work.

I know they work AMAZINGLY for these problems from taking them recreationally, almost to the point I think wait a sec im acting cocky as fuck! Didn't tell her that tho, don't want "drug seeker" on my notes!
 
Doctors here are indeed incredibly reluctant to prescribe benzos - for Dave's funeral I was hard pressed to get a few 2mg diazepams :|

I completely understand them not wanting to get anyone addicted, benzo addiction is hell by all accounts.. it is harder to justify refusing to prescribing a limited number per month for occasional use but then relying on benzos is only tackling the symptoms not the issue I guess, and once you are used to popping a pill it would be tempting to acquire more from places other than your GP. Plus tolerance can still build with occasional use..

Have you tried CBT hx_? It's a long term thing and it does take some work but I have seen it pretty much completely cure people of very bad anxiety, definitely worth a whirl..

Propranolol is fine to take every day if needed as long (as it doesn't give you side effects) but as you say it only works on the physical symptoms - it essentially dampens down the fight or flight mechanism that causes the racing heart, shakes, sickness etc.. however mind and body aren't separate entities and for some people controlling the physical side of things allows them to get on top of the mental side too. Not everyone though :(

Yeah to be fair you're right about the treating symptoms etc. I am looking into that cbt, seeing someone next week.

Benzos are bloody tempting tho! Too much of an easy way out but tbh, also they don't really work in the situations where it really effects me anyway, they just make me act like a dick and feel like I'm cool, then I realise this and its back to square one.
 
ginna be facing WD's soon.. very soon off a 30mg+ a day etiz habit for months, esp the ast few weeks, not like it helps with sleep or owt but shit, didnt think id cain through it so quick. Ugh few days in bed away from the world is what i need.. or a holiday

Might take some phenobarb or some other anti seizure just incase even though my threshhold is pretty high (cannae afford to keep buyin benzos chep as they are), just the blind panic im worried about.. bah il see anyways what doesnt kill you etc. Hopefully have some subs tomorrow so thats one less addiction to worry about for the present. mm il see anyways
 
Thats a bit from CK, do you really have to go CT ? having said that tapering is proving rally difficult for me I'd probably CT if it was practical, I've used Valerian root in the past its not gonna do that much but it helps a bit, most supermarket on shelf sleep aids are just Valerian root tabs so they are cheap.

I just can't drink and you don't want to swap one thing for another but it certainly helps if you think you can keep a lid on it.

/atm, your experiences with cipla zepose right? i find them abit weak, i did quite a few, like a strip and barely got mongy, i mean they worked wonders for my anxiety but couldnt get aa nap from the, still feelin abit groggy now though! lol
 
The ones I had were OK pretty standard IMO and probably not far off the 10mg dose, but you may into a different batch you know how trixy that area of the world can be fro copies and quality control, are they white with a double splitter on one side ?

I haven't had any for a bit and have a fair tolerance so its difficult to compare one against another especially when you don't have them available at the same time.

Diaz always seems to make me sleep as long as I have enough, when you say a strip you mean you did 100mgs in one go and that didn't get you to sleep ? if that the case there not as good as the ones I had 60-80 would have been enough to get me to that nice place where you can just lie back and drift a bit, your eyes even drift out of focus and you see 2 TVs if you don't make an effort:D

yeah thats them,come in tiny blisters with double scored breakline, maybe i just have a huge tolerance athough mrs brcf said she wasnt awoken by a songle cough so guess they did their job :)

nah it was taking 2 every few hours along with a few lines of oxy every now and again :)
 
Saw a different doctor and been given 10 2mg tablets, available again when I run out apparently, nice to know but I'm glad I don't pay for prescriptions, £7 for 20mg, wtf lol!

I buy a "season ticket" costs about £90 but saves me a fortune, just show them the card and no charges
 
I must get one of those 'season tickets' cos at the minute its costing me £7.40 every 2 weeks for my methadone script.
One of those tickets would save me a good bit of money over the space of a year.
 
They keep going but ots still cheaper for me a year but what with my ADs 3 different things I have to get monthly for my skin + anything else it works out cheaper, if I'd have been paying for prescriptions when they were trying to find an AD they didn't make me really sick I think I would have got a bit pissed off, I mean I only took one Prozac tab and was throwing violently within a couple of hours, if it had cost me £7.40 for the pleasure I'd have bee double pissed off.

They quote :-

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC. The charge for a single prescription item is £7.40, whereas a three month PPC will cost you £29.10 and a 12 month PPC £104.00.
 
Well I fell off the wagon big time over the weekend. Word to the wise... Special Brew and hand fulls of HKs don't mix well whilst riding a bike. You know your mates when they're having a laugh at you trying to cycle like that. Fuckin don't know how I didn't do myself or someone else some harm. Wankers could have taken the bike of me ffs. Cunts.
 
What I don't understand with benzos is.
I buy 10mg Actavis diazepam from a mate who is scripted them.
Now sometimes I can take 3 in an evening and the next morning I wake up drowsy and struggle to keep my eyes open and basically feel like that for hours.
Yet on other days I can take the same amount of pills but the next day I will wake up early and feel wide awake and refreshed straight away.
Anybody have any idea why I feel so different after taking the same dose?
