Nah just kidding though, my parents are alright if only a bit tweaked. Father is a total loner, peculiar guy and mother is on the verge of neurotic and overprotective but warm-hearted. I guess I have nothing to complain about really. Except the fact that their extremely polar personalities are also inside of me and they clash. And its fucking weird.
Man, I can so totally relate, except my dad is getting a bit more mellow in his older age. My mom has exactly those traits, to the T. It can be a bit much sometimes. Being around her is edgy, but if I don't talk to her in too long of a time I get anxious phone calls or e-mails asking if I'm okay, want to hear your voice again, etc. I'm very independent and she's very overprotective. I think there's a Pink Floyd song about it.
Nice tatts BTW. I'm scared by the size of your arms though. I thought you were a skinny twerp like most of us, I wasn't expecting that. Online perceptions and stuff.
Check out this article, it's pretty far out. Russians resurrect 30000 year old frozen flower/
Damn weird Russians. I'm still befuddled as to why they insist on keeping around a 90 year old disgusting corpse. Talk about communist materialism. At least religions have their stuff in books. Communism feels this need to keep corpses around to keep their 'religion' alive. I'm interested in what happens after the election. IMO Putin's done a nice job of making Russia look democratic but he's a dictator of an autocracy. It's the same old system.
I once gave up obedience for lent. Relocating to North East Europe within 2 months, oh joy![]()
I'm going to continue to try to give up pre-marital abstinence for lent.
No vow of celibacy needed when it gets pushed upon you.
I just busted out my Nintendo 64 for the first time in forever. Been rocking Goldeneye and Cruisin' USA pretty hard. I just got rid of my 360 because I never played it, making the N64 my newest console. I play the Super Nintendo all the time though. I have never really stopped playing it since 1991-1992.
I got mine out at home too, I seem to have lost half the games and the second controller. I remedied it though; there's a torrent kicking around (Project64); it's an emulator with 302 games. It works amazing and I control it with an xbox360 controller for computer. It's not quite as authentic but the 302 games.. :D
I've been playing some Goldeneye, Diddy Kong Racing, and 1080. I've also got an NES emulator (JNES) that I've been playing Super Mario Bros. 3 on. Playing those awesome games is so much better than super expensive graphics of the new era.
Today I had a lovely reminder of why I always hated Catholic liturgy as a youngster. Jeez, you'd think these people would be familiar with Matthew 6:7 "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." The passive sitting there and listening is lame too, but not surprising given these people take myths with spiritual lessons as literal truth (well they're not literalists on the level of some Prostestant groups, but believing any particular religion's narrative as THE truth strikes me as silly. I'm all Gnostic about things though, what do I know, I shouldn't criticize people who choose the path of Faith rather than mystic communion with That Which Is). I did get some nice soup and stuff though, so it was a productive outing.
Haha, ya, whenever I go to church anymore it just reminds me of why I stopped going. I feel you on the Protestant thing. Most Catholics aren't so hardcore. A friend of mine in college in the same program (biotech no less), was an ardent CRC'er (Christian Reform Church, sort of Presbyterian) and was dead set on creationism. When we were talking about it and she let it out I was flabbergasted that she took it as solid fact, I just said "Oh come on *name*" and she just gave me a 'look' and then we changed the subject.
Organized religion is weird, it's all cults IMO. I'm not an atheist, but I just live by my moral code, believe in a higher power and there's my religion. All that chanting and reciting scripture just creeps me out and is superficial as can be.
I just got back from reading week. Got two days of snowboarding in, my new board is a rocket. It's long, basically the expert length for my weight/height. It handles so well. Icy double black diamonds were no problem. Two days of flying down steep icy runs and not a single moment of losing control of falling. I was very impressed. I spent 250 bones on the second hand, mint condition board/binding/boots, easily 600 new. The guy only had it out 6 times, I won't be selling it until it's worn out, broken, or they invent jet-boards
After that I went home and did a bunch of nothing for the rest of the week. I had an amazing MDAI experience. All the empathy and euphoria of MDMA without the tweak and it has a comparatively mild comedown. There's some serotonin depletion but considering the experience I had, it's a wonderful drug. I have no idea why it's not that popular. I very much prefer it to MDMA itself, so calm, mellow, euphoric. Perfect drug. I will be revisiting soon.

Last week I had a friendly inside/gym soccer match (not sure what its called) straining myself, then doing martial arts training at home since there was almost no training recently, pulled both my adductors or something i.e. top part of insides of legs / groin. No idea if it's the muscle or tendons or whatever....
