help, i did something dumb and need advice (IV pills and abscess)

I'm glad you are getting prompt medical treatment. I'm confident they'll have you back to full health soon.

Anyway back on the advice wagon... I'm not sure how it works in your neck of the woods but where I live you get a free box of swabs (like 100 or something) whenever you visit a needle exchange (and exchange something presumably). I would recommend using these to wipe off the coating of the pill. Not only are they sterile but the alcohol evapourates really quickly so you don't have to worry about the pills gelling as much when you are crushing them.

appreciative

But as I stated in an earlier post, I primarily iv drugs such as coke or meth. I've been clean from those for over a year though. This was my first experience with iv'ng pills, simply bc temptation got the best of me

Swabs are useful for cleaning the skin too, although you have to rub the area for 30 seconds, let the alcohol fully dry and not touch it again before you inject to make it effective..

I'm going to move this to OD now as I mentioned :)

BDD > OD

Dude, you have been, and still are, in hospital due to giving yourself an infection and an abcess - And now you say that you're not done IV'ing pills/coke etc? Wtf man? Is this not a lesson to you? And as you had already given up all these things a year or so ago, you know just how hard it would be to stop again once you get used to doing it. Why would you want to do that to yourself again? As I said is this not a valuable lesson to you? On top of it, you are getting a decent whack of IV Morphine, Norco's, and Xanax, which when you are discharged and are no longer receiving, will make you want to use something to get 'high' again. Why would you want to do this to yourself?? :(

Well you're gonna do what you're gonna do, so whatever. Be careful though man.. If you end up back in hospital again for something similar, I doubt they are going to be as nice to you again as they were on this occasion.

When you stick yourself draw back plunger and if dark red blood your good to go real simple IV dillies cotton filter and no problems even though only did 5 times

I know this sounds odd effie but the industry standard practice is to actually wipe once with the alcohol wipe in a short stroke in the direction of the vein away from the heart and then dry it by wiping with a clean (note not sterile) cotton ball twice in the same manner. You are also allowed, and meant, to touch the vein again after the wipe to confirm the site you are putting the needle into (although not usually necesary). Of course you wash your hands before starting the procedure and are not allowed to touch anything except the equipment and the site. Taking blood/giving injections is a clean but not sterile process (although it is crucial that the syringe and needle be sterile and discarded if compromised). Gloves are not necessary and in many cases not used as they hamper touch. Reducing the amount of bacteria by a few magnitudes is the aim of the alcohol wipe (note it is nowhere near effective enough to kill all bacteria and leave the site sterile), the body can effectively kill off a few the cotton may deposit and what's left over after the wipe, after all it kill bacteria every day. It's when the bacteria is in overwhelming numbers that the immune system becomes compromised.

Dillies are the best pill IMO to IV. Not to many fillers and all are insoluble and safe. Even then if you don't micron filter you will get a pulmonary embolism or worse, one in the brain. It's just a matter of time.

Btw ripsleep even though I mostly use pharms I micron filter everything, this includes coke and meth.

Yea bro I shot just dillies but my friend always shit PC's just cotton how dangerous just shooting 22mgs in five shots? Ill probably do more b4 getting micron but I intend to people shoot w/o all time been 3 days since last shot I figure I'm safe?

He was always shooting ocs that is pre op ofcourse but Yea ain't cotton relatively good?

Wow, I have learned a lot from this thread! I hope OP that you are home now and resting, or at least don't need surgery!

@MrNaptown OCs are a lot worse to shoot than dillies, and you are right cotton is the best non-dedicated filter (I usually use q-tips in those cases or for pre-filtering before using a wheel). If you read a lot of the posts here -> micron filter you will probably get more information than I can give you quickly here. Pills have 100x more fillers in them than street drugs. A cotton filter will only filter down to 50 microns at max (which is very small but a capillary (blood vessels) can go down to 12 microns wide (red blood cells are 8 microns wide), so they can be blocked and particles and those particles can even build up to block the bigger passages. Wheel filters filter particles down to 0.22 microns, as you can see much smaller. Anything that gets through these can generally travel around you body harmlessly until the immune cells phagocytose (eat) it. Oh and another great thing about wheel filters is that they are a fine enough to filter out bacteria! No more cotton fever!

The first time you wheel filter you will look at the end solution and be like "omg, what have I been putting into my body". You think your solution is relatively clear at the moment but wait until you wheel filter and then you'll see a massive difference.

Oh btw as for how long it will take to get an embolism shooting OCs or Dillies...Really depends on a lot of factors including how much you're shooting and how well you're filtering. A reasonable guess is that if you're friend does anywhere from 40-100 shots of OCs with just cotton filtering he's probably looking at serious trouble. Of course it is something that creeps up on you a lot of the time and them boom one day you can't breath and you kark it. Need serious surgery to fix as well. That is a super rough guess though and I'd have to read the litrature to get a proper figure (which unfortunately I don't have time to do right now). They usually estimate a life expectancy of under 2 years from the start of someone injecting pills to their death without a wheel filter (I can't cite this right now but if someone is interested PM me).

If anyone wants to talk about anything in more detail, spin any more questions at me or just wants to chat about anything else feel free to drop me a PM.

Not sure if you didn't read carefully enough, I am done IV'ng coke and meth. I've been clean off those for a year, 2 months, and 5 days. I'm not going back to them. But if I were to go back, IV would still be the ROA I would choose.

This was my first experience with IV'ng pills, which I will definitely never do again.

Thought I should give a little update. I am still in the hospital. I was quite sick yesterday, started the day out with a temp of 100.4 which quickly rose to 102.8, was throwing up and other grossness, every part of my body ached. We're fairly certain this was caused by the flu shot I was given the day before.

I also discovered that I was a bit confused about my diagnosis, but that's because the doctors were too. I had strep, some other bacteria and staph growing in the blood cultures they took. They treated the staph but in future blood cultures strep and the other bacteria were still showing up.

After receiving 3 different IV catheter things (bc my surface veins suck) they finally decided to put in a PICC line, which is like an iv except it goes all the way through the vein almost to my heart.

Anyway, they treated the staph and that's gone. Since it was in my bloodstream, I'm going to guess I've had staph for over a year because a few of the ppl I used with got staph and I had one spot that I thought might've been infected but I was too scared to go to the hospital.

So, this abscess thing I have, is actually infected with strep and some other bacteria that grows in your mouth. I was already sick prior to my attempt to inject this pill. So, had I not sucked the coating off the pill or used my mouth to clean off the needle after an unsuccessful attempt to find a vein, I would probably not have developed this abscess.

I will probably be in the hospital for another day or two for them to figure out which antibiotic is going to work best for these infections.

Although I am not happy in any way that I've had to spend so much time in the hospital, in a way it's a good thing this happened because I would've never gone to have myself checked for staph, and being that it was in my bloodstream, it probably would've eventually killed me.

For anyone wondering why I had needles around to even tempt me to try to iv this pill... I was about to start a special diet that involves subcutaneous injections of the HCG hormone.

When I went in for an abscess in my jaw, I was near death and it was literally the size of my fist. I had been draining it myself by applying pressure and having the discharge come out from my gums (nasty, I know. Imagine how I felt while doing this lol). I finally went in and they drained it with a syringe, put me on IV antibiotics and sent me on my merry way home with another dose of IV antibiotics I was to administer myself at a later date (As they had put in a cannula) as well as oral ones.

Pretty sure no cultures were done to determine the type of infection and no pain medication was administered.

I am in Canada though, so I wasn't paying out of pocket for my treatment so that may have something to do with it.

Because you're in Canada is probably why no cultures were performed, why you were sent home with your own IV meds, and no pain meds were dispensed.

Glad to hear that you're all good Rig, and that they're treating this nasty infection for you. Sorry, didn't mean to sound as though I was lecturing you, I just hate seeing things like this, and unfortunately, the majority of people do not learn. I'm glad to hear that you are not going to be injecting these pills anymore. Stay safe dude.

LOL what the fuck do we care if you were successcul 5 times?

Update: I ended up being in the hospital for a week, it sucked. I've been out for 5 days now but have been having to go back everyday for IV antibiotics. They took out the PICC line before I left the hospital, because I have a history of IV drug use, even though I assured them that I'd learned my lesson after being stuck in there for a week and still have a gaping wound from where they had to cut me to drain the abscess. Every nurse had so much trouble trying to find a place to put an IV over the first few days that they finally called the Dr and had my treatment changed, but only after being stuck 8 times on one day, trying in my feet and exploding two of my veins bc they thought they were in but weren't. I can honestly say that I will never shoot up again after this horrid experience.
