The Big & Bearded Post Rock thread v. Relate & Recommend bands

Has anyone mentioned the first Verve album A storm in heaven?

It's fucking great, along with their first EP (verve E.P) and first single (All in the mind)

I'm gonna check these out. I trust you on the basis of your avatar. ;)

I like M83's approach to shoegaze / dream pop.

Also, Slowdive are pretty cool. Especially the track Rutti. Which always reminds me of Tongue by Underworld, which is also an awesome track.

ebola

Instrumental drone metal (a close cousin of post-rock) - Earth
As far as post-rock - I can't believe none of you bastards have mentioned Vini Reilly!

I truly believe that this:

... Is the best piece of music produced by westerners.

Recently, thanks to a certain Ebola, I've been getting into Russian Circles.

Also, thanks to a certain Vegan, I've been (slowly) getting into Silver Mount Zion and (to a lesser extent) Explosions in the Sky.

Post-rock:

Enjoy Eternal Bliss by Yndi Halda
Give Me Beauty... Or Give Me Death by Ef
