Taking drugs into your old age

Taking drugs into your old age...

Funny. I was the one where people left their "reserves" because they knew I would never touch them. As I grew older, I started to appreciate the new experiences drugs can provide, and I hope I will be able to expand those experiences one day.

Hey, if Lemmy could do lines of meth, in his late 60s, I see no reason why I shouldn't (and I don't drink or smoke - cannabis via a vapourizer. Almost the clean & healthy lifestyle I ascribe to my continued existence!)

oh wow you are old! I mean that well. youre nearly a boomer arntya? my stepdad vaped some a-PVP at 65 with me a time. and he got into my rc collection and randomly dosed 25C and 2CP and DOC. tripped hard for 3 days. looks like theres life in the mid60s to be had lol

I have always wanted to meet the people I like on Bluelight. Im glad youre alive fab. So many longstays here have straight DIED. I couldnt believe how many Bluelighters I know who have died.

was there ever a Bluelight meetup?
Oi, less of the age shaming (I get enough grief from family about having long hair at my age. Thing is, it's just turning greyand hasn't receeded an inch).

Yep, years ago, there was a BL meetup in Newcastle. By it were a fun night!

Handsome devil :)
When I was a teen I always imagined my future man to have a full head of gray hair. And a beard to go with it (but both clean and groomed). Nothing changed since then.
And agree on the "age shaming" thing.

I actually don't look that different to how I looked 20 years ago, but get close enough and all you hear is me whinging like Victor Meldrew on meth, about how EVERYTHING hurts these days!

I will never stop smoking weed.

Most other drugs can fuck right off because they just don't do it for me anymore - except for MDMA, but having recently been diagnosed with a dodgy ticker, it looks like I may have to stop that as well.

But I will die with a spliff in my gob...

Ah no! What's up with the ticker mate?

I've got a dodgy ticker but still take stims lol.

Apparently I've got a severe narrowing in one of my arteries. I'm currently waiting for an invasive angiogram and have to take statins, beta blockers and aspirin for life.

I'm supposed to be stopping smoking as well, but fuck that!

Define "drugs". Lottsa oldsters smoke reefer. Tim Leary did acid on his deathbed. But, I don't think that speed for a week would be in order when you're in your 60's.

I read in High Times magazine years ago that the opium growing tribes in the Golden Triangle looked down seriously on people getting addicted to the opium but that old folks were welcome to take to the pipe. Sound like a great pension plan to me. Be fucking productive in your strongest years but then relax a little when you get, ummm, "tired".

oh bugger, that's a downer mate :( yeah the angio will get you/them a clearer picture of whatsup.

do you like chocolate? if so, it's a great excuse to get a good 30g of cocoa a day, to help loosen up the arteries and reduce plaque formation on the vessels.

Yep. Opies for the oldies. Sounds good to me :!

stop smoking baccy mate, it's a bitch at first but, well, if you can quit smack...

and start vaping or eating your weed, and lower yer fkin cholesterol it's not that difficult

(I've done all the above, except the smack part...and if I can fkin anyone can, trust)

EDIT I've often thouht that if I was passing near you I'd perhaps drop by and share some awesome quality stims with ya as you oft bemoan lack of such (I don't do em anymoire but have a very high quality contact), but you've fukkin blown that one now matey, Imma not killing F.U.B.A.R, hell no

Many people have said to me that stopping smoking is harder than quitting heroin. My response has always been 'I wouldn't know, I've never tried to stop smoking". It's a cliché, but fuckin true...

Fuck beta blockers. Physically dependant on a drug with no compensating actions, that also stops you even getting a semi, never mind a full operational state. Only thing it's good for is getting a prescription for Cialis (got them prescribed after my 'cardiac event)'. Never taken one. I would say go with the statin and aspirin though (and the 12 months of anticoagulent, if you get a stent fitted)

Eh? I'm 60 in a few months, but still have speed (or similar stimulant) binges. What's the point of living to 100, if the last 40 years of your life are tedious beyond discription.

Live fast, die old and leave a rancid looking corpse... 🤣

You could try nebivolol. It's pretty decent for maintaining erections as it's a vasodilator (NO enhancement) via Beta 3 agonism, also helps burn off fat/lower triglycerides somewhat.

Can't say I've noticed any problems in the trouser department tbh. The only issue there is that the wife's on the menopause, so it's Mrs palm and her five lovely daughters for me these days... :ROFLMAO:

Still, beta blockers, in combination with catecholamine agonists (eg speed) can cause rebound alpha agonism, which can put blood pressure up into aneurism territory
