Film Most Disturbing Movie(s)?

That sounds like porn.

'Midnight Meat Train' is a good horror movie with Bradley Cooper. I always laughed at the title because they have to know it sounds like a porno.

It was written by Clive Barker and was definitely meant to sound like a gay porn title.

Begotten (89) is a bit different. Not the most disturbing, a little arty.

I guess I find real-life more disturbing than films. I don't care for horror, I guess I have trouble suspending disbelief sometimes. The documentary Jesus camp was definitely more disturbing than many horror films. Same with Titicut follies, though I was in Massachusetts at the time.

there's one with harvey keitel 'bad lieutenant'. i watched it first time when i was 16 and really did not expect something so gritty i guess.

Back when IMDb still had message boards, "Singapore Sling" (1990) was pretty legendary on the Horror board. It's a unique mix of horror, art film, and porno, LOL...with weird dramatic, psychosexual themes thrown in...honestly it's a one of a kind film, IMO. I always recommend it in threads about "off the beaten path" films, it made a big impression on me. You'll never look at kiwis the same way again!

Synapse films put out a decent DVD release of it a while back

I remember watching that movie randomly on Netflix and having to turn down the sound when that scene came on with Harvey Keitel pulling over the two young women in the car and jerking off, saying "yeah bitch, suck it, suck it you bitch", and it just goes on and on like that lol. I was self-conscious that the people in the next apartment would think that I was watching some kind of weird porno or something :ROFLMAO:

It's a good movie

"Frontier(s)' is a *very* fucked up movie.

"The Fourth Kind" messed with me a bit, but I think that having experienced sleep paralysis made me a bit more susceptible to that particular genre of horror.

"High Tension" is a very twisted, intense, disturbing movie, but not quite as challenging as Frontier(s).

I LOVED the IMDb message boards. Had some great conversations and made some great friends over there. Fuck IMDb for getting rid of it (and Amazon for the same reason...amazon even got rid of those "listmania" lists).

I watched Frontier(s) years ago and time to time it pops up to play some fucked up scenes in my head, but I couldn't remember the name of the movie, so Thank You! Tells a lot about movie when it sticks in your brain in such a manner.

I watched "Invitation" (2015) just a minutes ago. Very disturbing thriller. It was quite uneasy to watch, knowing that shit would eventually hit the fan and the last scene before the credits got cold shivers running down my spine. Also if you have ever lost someone close to you, this might bring up unwanted memories. Think that adds to the "disturbness factor".

"Resolution" and its (kind of) sequel "Endless" really got under my skin and might been most disturbing movies I've ever watched. Oh wait, someone mentioned "Enter the Void"? Please, do watch "Climax" if you havent already from same director.

Yeah, I definitely agree. There were some people on some of those boards, like the Horror board, who had such a deep and rich knowledge of film. I got some great film recommendations from there, including some of my all-time favorite movies that I would never have known about if not for that place (like Singapore Sling, Bad Boy Bubby, Svidd Neger etc)

Liked both of them; Resolution reminded me allot of what mxe psychosis is like.

Wasn't very graphic or gorey but jesus that last scene.

Actually thought of a couple (I was kid for both, to be fair, though).

I've always found any sort of facial deformity REALLY freaks me out, for some reason.

Problem Child - saw this when I was about 10 and the scene where he changes her hospital chart so she ends up getting surgery for a huge nose kinda disturbed me

The Elephant Man - (possibly had to do with my depression at the time) I didn't even finish this. I just found it too upsetting. Not the way he looked, but they way people treated him.

The scene from Rosemary's Baby really freaked me out when I first saw it, now I find it quite enjoyable. You know, the one with "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM??? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIS EYES?????"
"He's got his father's eyes."

o shit stop the presses has any one seen thread Russian films one of my fav director
Nails,
Visions of suffering, and
Phlopsy of a knife,
the first 2 are trippy as hell I've watch them when tripping either tripping on come down or and have them on in back round on mute with music playing... so fun...

Yes, 110% agree. Frightening and very relevant to what's going on today. Roman Polanski is a Luciferian/witch, best believe he was putting the truth in his films.

He still got away with sodomizing a 13 year old girl because he fled the US before being sentenced. Piece of shit.
