What are the most disturbing movies you have seen? And why?
I'm very curious as I have a (probably unhealthy) obsession with extreme cinema.
I feel I am truly unfazeable but would love to be proved wrong.

What do you mean by disturbing exactly? Do you want to be disturbed in a creepy way or are you just looking for torture porn and gross stuff?

For me, Event Horizon always has and always will take the cake. The only reason I didn't come out insane after watching it was because I blacked out on etizolam halfway through.

But I don't watch that many horror films, only really sci-fi ones (i.e. Alien) so I haven't any other recommendations.

Any kind. For example, Requiem for a Dream is pretty disturbing to most but no violence or gore. Then again others would say something like A Serbian Film or Cannibal Holocaust. Just anything that really disturbed you for any reason.

For me it was 'The Grudge'. No gore, just sheer, get under your skin, psychological horror. It's still the only film I've seen that can have me cowering under the covers if it pops into my head when I wake up in the middle of the night...

Happiness does a good job of turning stomachs. little johnny throwing up at the breakfast table.

Requiem for a Dream was one of my favorite movies. Made me want to get high.

Hmm...I'll start. These are probably the movies I have seen that would most disturb people:

Grotesque (2009)
A Serbian Film
Salo, or The 120 Days of Sodom
Requiem for a Dream
Red Room
Red Room 2
I Spit On Your Grave 2 (2013)
Cannibal Holocaust
Inside (2007)
Anti-Christ
Philosophy of a Knife
The Men Behind the Sun
The Angel's Melancholia
Irreversible
The "Guinea Pig" series
August Underground
Schramm
Santa Sangre
Martyrs
The Girl Next Door
Twilight
Nekromantik
Earthlings
Taxidermia
Threads
Eraserhead
Cutting Moments
Sheitan
Freaks (1932)
Man Bites Dog
The Elephant Man
The House That Jack Built
Carne

There's probably a bunch more I can't think of right now.

Serbian film didn't faze you?

Side note my mate is in spit on your grave 2 ?

I watched a load of them. Real good way to desensitise yourself lol
Some cruel people out there.
The cartels/Mexicans are leading the way in fucked up torture.
Watch the one where they peel the guys face off while he is alive.
The dog eating the guys dick and balls makes me cringe.

That ones pretty bad yeah.
Don't think I've seen the face peel one, some of the Mexican cartel beheadings are pretty raw though yeah, seen the one where its 2 guys (I think they were informers) and one gets chainsawed and the other gets done slowly with the knife? The wheezing noises coming out of his neck after were quite disturbing, stayed with me for a bit haha

Just google cartel face peel and it will come up. U gotta see it
They got guns and roses playing in the background lol
I think the human brain does something that just makes you accept your fate because some of these gettin there throats cut are much too calm.

Get on best gore and watch some of the real torture vids.

If not then try martyrs. It’s s french film but worth a look.

Yeah, Martyrs was good. Just don't make the mistake of watching the U.S. version. It's basically a for-pussies version.

I've watched real gore stuff before, too. I saw a movie where a woman was for real murdered but it wasn't snuff, though. She was stabbed in the neck outside her home and it was caught on a security camera (for it to be snuff the person has to be specifically killed in order to film the death).

Tbh I would totally watch a real snuff film. Only for free (I'd never pay for it because then the person would be getting my money as a reward for murder).
Red Rooms still just allegedly exist on the dark web.
