Television Intervention

I like the one where the smart kid is addicted to dextromethorphan, it's interesting because i've had a friend or two addicted to this stuff and it's the closest thing to a psychedellic that they've documented on that show.

I like watching the meth episodes too!

dxm kid was on bluelight hah

i find it fascinating to see the similarities in thought architecture displayed by addicts regardless of their drug(s) of choice, it clearly illustrates the ''disease'' model of addiction for me. .

one of the more crazy ones is Laney - a pretty wild alcoholic (with a shitty drink, 2L malibu & diet rockstar/day UGH) -- she is a rape victim and never sought treatment for it, and unlike a lot of the other addicts who have had sexual abuse issues in their past, this chick is still freaking out every night about it, checking her doors are locked obsessively. shes also a millionaire. she takes an entire bottle of trazadone and nearly dies while the crew is there, the police come and escort the crew off her property because she calls the cops on them. honestly i have never seen a more pathetic person i felt not an ounce of sympathy or empathy for. (watch the episode if that sounds harsh as)

Okay my friend swears there is an episode where the girl smokes mad DMT 24/7. I can't seem to find ANYTHING on this, except maybe the ben/josh episode?

Any of you have a clue what my friend was talking about?

It was probably meth or something. I'm sure I would remember someone smoking DMT on intervention.

Ben use to post on here... don't know what happened to him.

^"It's like I'm walking on sunshine." :) very sad, but I cant help but laughing at that statement.

I couldn't agree more! Unfortunately, I have been that desperate. Yes,at 32 I resorted to huffing computer duster for about 3 weeks out of sheer desperation and lack of connections.

Nothing about it is how I would imagine walking on sunshine feels. But-i have a damn good laugh at myself in that situation so I don't feel too bad that I laugh my ass off at Allison.

Did anyone see the South Park parody where Towlie gets strung out on duster???
CLASSIC!

full episodes (South Park) available on the site as well.

^lol I initially had thought that the Alison episode on You tube, was a Parody done by some Sarah Silverman looking Actress.
I think the girl was looking for attention to her Mental/Emotional issues at the end of the day.

I actually live with someone like Allison ATM, she is a manipulative, childish, egocentric, narcisistic, control freak. Luckily she doesnt indulge in any substances so she hasnt gone postal. Spend my days avoiding her..ugh!

Can anyone recommend some of their favorite episodes?

yeah, the "walking on sunshine" episode is great. but you can really tell she is playing for the camera. she's more an idiot and an attention whore than a drug addict.

the girl who is hooked on meth and vodka is pretty entertaining. she likes to get naked and fight with her family. and i think she is doing it out of honest psychosis, not to put on a show for the camera.

Those are bottles of computer duster. And yea Christy (the often naked meth addict) is fucking insane. That is what I imagine true psychosis to be. Her diary was truly fucked up scribble and ranting.

I love intervention. In fact I can't get enough of it. I think I might be addicted lol.

I haven't seen the Ben / DXM episode though. I'm really dying to watch it now reading everyone say how it was their favorite episode and stuff. Alas, searched the Internet high-and-low and could not find it anywhere. I hope it turns up... I gotta see it....

Crissy was probably my favorite episode just because how nuts she was. Most of other ppl's faves are mine too, but one unmentioned one that blew my mind was the older guy (60s?) who was on pain meds and I think crystal meth, and was stupid enough to give Nigerian scammers like over 200,000 or something nuts. That one was just unbelievable. The guy was so out of it.

I like the alcho's episodes the best, and can't stand the eating disorder ones... entertaining show for sure.

Great the entertainment value of it alone! Lets rate it 1-10, Circus Maximus, with the vegetables; throwing vegtables ,at the vegtables!! 8)

As others have said the girl with the computer duster.

Also, there was this crazy girl (think her name was linda) who was on fentanyl. Her reason for taking so much was she had a condition where her bones would suddenly dislocate due to electricity or something. In the rehab they diagnosed her with a delusional disorder tho..

It's as if only addicts with strong, loving families are worthy of help. If you're alone, isolated, or god forbid don't have siblings or living family, then you simply aren't represented on the show. It seems like the show focuses on spoiled, privileged, bratty but otherwise unremarkable people.
