Is THC "Female energy" while mushrooms are "Male energy"?

I think I'm gonna try and smoke some salvia right now, hopefully it works this time

When you say you took mushrooms and had mild temporary psychosis, do you mean that you experienced the effects of mushrooms (i.e. mild temporary psychosis), or that you actually had a psychotic break? If it's the latter, then please stop tripping, you will drive yourself totaly crazy.

im guessing what he had was a normal mushroom trip.
It can feel like youre going crazy when youre tripping sometimes, but everything is all back to normal when the drugs wear off..

I think everyone is being to hard on the kid.

I get a female-ish vibe from some cannabis strains, predominantly Hazes or S.E. Sativas...

Mushrooms always felt like fungus, no male/female energy at all... but i experienced 4-ho-met as a female compound, a young and promiscuous one at that too :D

Nothing else apart from that had anything like that for me, salvia was just traumatic, not female :/

also what with all the condescending idiots without fantasy on this thread?

What the fuck are male and female energy anyway? Honestly, just don't read Terence McKenna, he gives people all sorts of silly ideas and then you sound like a twat.

I would describe them as archetypical energies that are part of the human (sub)consciousness that can be encountered by going a certain path (i.e. a psychoactive molecule activating the right receptor),I have never read McKenna... it just feels like it... you know what feelings are?

also weed is the female cannabis plant, not the male, so why the fuck shouldn't it feel like it?

some people forget what its like to be young and new to these substances and all the questions they can bring up.
Im guilty of it myself at times.
But its important to remember. And important to suspend disbelief and be compassionate when necessary.

The first time I did shrooms it was a great experience, after I even felt more centered. After the second time (a year a half later) I did mushrooms there was a 2 week period in which I felt "smarter" but was actually completely paranoid and connecting dots that weren't there. This was during the presidential elections and I felt like I was actually a subject of the debates (remember Joe the Plumber?). I thought the government was after me but I completely followed every move of political tactics and ended up with a great standing for political science. I got through this temporary psychosis (two weeks or so) all by myself without any treatment even though there wasn't a single person in my life who I didn't question. This happened one week after a bad experience with salvia that brought out many anxieties in me I never had (fear of leaving my girlfriends house at night, death following me, falling asleep while driving etc.) During this time I had my girlfriend who was noticeably shaken and changed from the trip and a friend who was messing with me pretending to be a cop. A package sent to me filled with cannabis seeds set off my paranoia alarm because they were high quality seeds I never ordered, yet they were addressed to me from a very strange name in Napa Valley, CA

At the time my girlfriends mom urged me not to smoke at one point she forced me to get a mental evaluation, I did and the evaluator said I was perfectly fine and possible even in better mental shape then the average. However my father concurred and hypothesized that I had areas of my brain receiving more energy than normal.

For a month I didn't smoke any marijuana until it was completely out of my system - there hasn't been a time since this t-break where my tolerance to THC has returned the point where I'm not nervous and quiet around people after I smoke (prior to this I had a very high tolerance, the day after my first mushroom experience I out smoked everybody on 420 and could maintain composure).

I just did acid for the first time last week and although it started out great it ended up going bad, full of rapid thoughts of self doubts and ego-killing thoughts (this being brought on by an argument with my girlfriend, peep my first thread for more info). After the trip I stopped smoking for 48 hours until the LSD mostly cleared my system but now when I smoke I have more control, it doesn't hit me instantly and my highs remind me more of when I was first originally building my tolerance.

A lot of people seem to carry negative feelings towards their experiences with salvia.

Also as far as how my actual trip went (the one that induced the 'psychosis'), it was a normal trip. I wouldn't consider it a bad trip either - I actually remembered a somewhat traumatic yet mostly overlooked memory about being touched when I was younger. My girlfriends mom was out of town for a week (in Napa Valley) and I was happy to be spending the night with my girlfriend but I had major problems sleeping at one point I remember hearing breathing (which at the time was like a de ja vu alluding towards feelings I had sleeping when I was much younger)

Mushrooms and McKenna both put weird ideas in your head sometimes.

But relax, deep breathes, IT AIN'T FUCKING TRUE

The word is "archetypal", and I don't really think that you can apply it to energy tbh. When we start talking about energy being something that constitutes consciousness, we've strayed from the technical definition of the term, and it's important to establish what we're actually referring to, otherwise you just end up equivocating and talking at cross purposes. Hence my question, "what the fuck are male and female energy anyway? (sic)". Let's work out what the OP is thinking of when he says male energy, then we know what question he's asking and begin to work at answering it.
you know what feelings are?
No, I don't, I'm an android from the future, please teach me to love.

Well, first of all, modern sinsemilla is all female, but that's a relatively modern development. For most of its history, cannabis as a drug has been a combination of both male and female plants (and hermaphrodites, given that monecious varieties have presumably been used as drugs). The effects are the results of the cannabinoids, not the sex of the plant. If I smoked male cannabis plants, would I feel completely different effects, experience "male energy" instead of the usual "female energy"? Does hermy weed have "hermaphrodite energy"? No, it's all the same few cannabinoids having the same kinds of effects.

My other issue with this point is that the sense in which "male" and "female" are being used are hugely anthropocentric. When we associate females with nurturing, emotional intelligence, fragility or whatever, and males with destruction, power, or suchlike, we're thinking about the typical properties of human males and females. Male seahorses carry the young, not mothers; are the "energies" inverted in this species? Cannabis has no psyche, and thus none of the sexual dimorphism of it that humans exhibit. Again, the problem is equivocation, cannabis can be male or female in a narrow, biological sense, but it can't be male or female in a "Martian/Venutian" way.

Well the effects of the male cannabis leaf compared to the female cannabis leaf has been much different from my experience, I know both of them carry the same cannabinoids but I believe them to have different levels of cannabinoids. Also despite the plants not having psyche I do believe (and I might be wrong on this) that the male cannabis plant carries higher levels of testosterone. Nutrients like potassium in high quantities can influence the plant to lean towards the male gender.

I think the fact that the OP has "thizz" in his name explains quite a lot/

I'd be interested to know what you relate the word "Thizz" to? It's a term popularized by a rapper that holds a great deal of influence over me because he seems to think in a similar fashion as I do

uhh....male cannabis plants dont make THC or anything.
and plant hormones aren't going to affect your high or anything..

Can we replace "male" and "female" with yang and yin energies? (there should be some overlap)

I totally see psychedelics as conducive to bringing out the celestial yang energies within us. As for cannabis being on the yin side...hmm...I dunno, I'll think about it the next few times I smoke up.

Is this directed to Yerg? He is a moderator of Cannabis Discussion you knoww;)

penis envy was developed by the famous entheogenic mycologist/enthobotanist and psilonaut terence mckenna. Besides his wonderful teachings he left behind to fuel our thoughts and imagination, he also left one of the most unique and powerful cubensis mushrooms we have every experienced. Its nick named penis envy because they resemble.....well......you guessed it.. A penis. Terence was big on mushrooms and marijuana and he talks a lot of psilocybin mushrooms being a "male" energy and mj being a "female" energy. No wonder he developed a mushroom that looks like a penis.

So... it's manly to eat penis-shaped things?

I guess it makes sense if you don't think about it.

idk bout this thread but i always joke with my gf about how intense shrooms are for girls. shit eminem even has a song about it called mushrooms.

look at it like this -

lucy
mary jane
molly

but what about mushrooms? boomers? gooms? see what i mean

EDIT: also, to op, after checking out your post at this top of your page sounds like you need to live the single life. my ex really fucked with my head when it came to pot (though you know she loved her alcohol 8)) much less psychedelics. Not sure about your particular situation but IME girlfriends can be a real mindfuck, and not in a good way
