Can your high permanently be blocked due to antipsychotics? Or does it just take a long time in some instances to “recover”?

it’s crazy how potent these AP injections are that the block 8gs of penis envy shrooms I’ve taken 3.5 grams of penis envy and I was tripping very hard for 4 hours and ya that’s a good sign if you can’t feel weed that much anyway you should take a t break lowering your tolerance would make you able to get high easier.
Yeah I was going to say that as well, if I took a long ass tolerance break maybe for 1-3 months, I’m sure it’ll improve significantly, but the longest I’ve been able to go is a week. Even with not feeling a damn thing this whole time, I have no excuse really. But I’ll keep that in mind and at least shoot for a week or two T break easily, thanks again.

I haven’t smoked weed in 6-7 months I have a reason why I’m not smoking it atm but I’m sure one day I will smoke again whenever I do I’m gonna get high asf my brain has probably reset my tolerance to someone who’s never smoked before, there was another time in my life where I took an 8 month t break and smoked again it felt like my first high.

I found it interesting that the only ones that worked for me was shrooms and acid the visuals were normal but the euphoria wasn’t the same. I was also surprised that DXM didn’t work recreationally or for the intend use which is very weird.
the only other drug I tried other than shrooms is whippets/nitrous oxide and it definitely did the trick. It was a very short lived and cheap feeling high but it worked in a pinch to get me “high”. But I wouldn’t recommend it for a quality enjoyable high. But I stick to weed most the time with the occasional acid or Shroom trip

@dirtydiana23, I forgot to ask. Are you taking Abilify pills or injections. Believe me, there is a huge difference in side effects between the two.

Also, do you mind sharing what dose you take?

I was taking 10mg pills for 3 months before I quit cold turkey.
That’s very weird that you can’t get high yet then, normally people recover from the pills in a few weeks especially if you only took them for 3 months the injections are way worse and I’ve recovered my ability to get high, you might just have a super high tolerance tbh at the end of my weed binge before I quit I could take 15 big rips off quality wax and barely get stoned this was before anti psychotics I used to be super stoned all day everyday and my tolerance eventually was just broken a t break should do the trick for you I doubt the anti psychotics are having an effect anymore, I’d recommend taking a long break and once you start smoking again don’t don’t multiple times a day just smoke once during the day.

Alright I’m going to do my best to discipline myself with the T break. Thanks again, yeah I’d think I’d be able to get high too I’ve found the majority of people are back to normal after 2-4 months but I’ve been going hard with the weed so my body probably has a high tolerance built for it even though I’m not feeling it. If those things correlate idk for sure

ya for sure even before anti psychotics if I way overdo it with cannabis eventually my tolerance just goes nope and I can’t even get high at all I’ve see this happen to other people too it’s kinda like when people drink a lot of cups of coffee everyday they don’t even feel the effects of it they just feel normal instead of having horrible withdrawals, although with cannabis the withdrawals aren’t bad if there even is any.

Yeah I’ve often heard about this I just thought I was lucky with never having to deal with it myself , when I was getting high everyday.

I’ll be sure to update this thread when I’m back to normal. This is my first time using blue light and I found answers to the questions that have been haunting me for almost a year. And now I just have to sit back and wait for the weed to kick in instead of worrying it’ll never return again. I’m grateful for that. I’ve found a few people that said they couldn’t get high after 2 years or more but it was only 2-3 ppl total, and there was always an underlying issue or they weren’t telling the full story. One person on quora said they haven’t got high in years due to abilify and I messaged her to see if she recovered because it was an older post. And she said she’s been on every psych med out there and she’s currently on Rexulti, which is very similar to Abilify, and made by the same company. So I’m not suprised there. The other stories are concerning Olanzapine not abilify.

Ya exactly there’s a lot of people in the invega thread who are like “you never recover from this poison” but they’re always on other meds or using hard drugs they are a few rare cases where some people don’t recover allegedly but I don’t believe them tbh I think there’s some other factor involved I took 2 high dose invega sustenna shots 234mg and 156mg and that’s a lot worse then abilify and I can get high nowadays, don’t listen to the negative stories, as long as you’re med free and doing healthy things in life like exercise healthy eating socializing etc you’ll recover 100%

alright thanks a lot, like I mentioned before it may be creeping on slightly but this is a new occurrence as of the last few days. And I started suspecting around a month ago that I could be feeling it but it’s still like smoking mid, no matter the strain or amount it can’t get you there. I really just get anxious and slightly paranoid when I smoke, once in a while that’d happen when I was a stoner but it came with getting high and the initial onset for me.

Now I just get anxious and or paranoid after I smoke or while smoking. It’s similar to the paranoia you’d get with getting too high for your comfort but without any of the high or the cool shit that comes with it. This could also be why I think I’m starting to feel it. And just to clarify again I can barely feel any of it, I don’t want it to sound like I’m pretty much almost there. But thanks for the talk it’s been very helpful.

i used to smoke weed while on resiperidone and olanzapine with no high that you describe.
i think it depends for how long you have been taking your medication and their dose.

at 10mg i didnt feel anything, at 5mg i felt it but less stronger. i still felt it and one day after a 2 month break i decided i wanted to smoke weed again so i got it and i was quite drunk beforehand and after i smoked 2 medium sized joints mixed with tobacco (coz i prefer to go sleep and never wake up again) because it was cheaper to do so.

anyway i did feel high lol sorry for tmi. currently im on 300mg serouqel on my 1st day of weed break and i dont feel high when i smoke or drunk when i use alcohol. yes! it goes out of your system. but it takes time. for me it took like 8-9 months.
it depends how long you have been taking those meds. the worse thing that happened to me was the invega shot. it helps some people but to me it did the opposite and it took maybe a year for this shit to completely come out of my body

may i ask what for you wonder if you will get high again? do you have a diagnosis?
when i stopped taking meds for the excact same reason my brain was fine like im still on the med but after 8 months i started feeling more anxious and couldnt beat my meat because i thought people can hear me (i lived on 4th floor lol)
idk how many times i stopped taking them. maybe 3 times. 3rd time was the worse because no longer than 2 months because i couldnt fall because i smoked weed and stopped. after considering trying the 5mg olanzapine i had in my fridge, the moment i took it i feel asleep within minutes. i would wake up once and sleep more than 8 hours. as i started smoking more and more and eventually everyday i stopped falling asleep without weed. now i cant sleep even if i smoke so i just had to quit this tormentous habbid that makes me feel nothing and keeps me in this loop of smoking until one day my lungs collapse or something.

would love to get high or drunk but it doesnt bother me much compared to years ago
something with this 5mg olanzapine i tried did something positive and i noticed that it actually helped keep my psychosis caged so my point of view towards psychiatrists and medication that you cannot function without changed to actually believing in the medication

Really the main reason I thought it might be forever is because I couldn’t find hardly anything to support the idea that it won’t be. And I tend to think the universe likes fucking me and with my luck, once the weed gets taken away, it’ll likely never come back. I’m a glass half empty kind of guy I suppose, but after reading dozens of stories I’m confident it’ll probably return this year. I was going off the 1 or two horrible stories about ppl who took antipsychotics for a very brief time and said they haven’t got high since, I’ve learned these stories and the people who share them can’t be trusted.
