The Human Caterpillar!!! HAHAHA! If that was deliberate then it was a great shout =D

Edit - Just realised I was a bit slow there. Still though. The Human Caterpillar! I'm gonna start referring to it as that, see if anyone notices.

The next 3 days

coming out on DVD on monday

really good film i enjoyed which is unusual for me as of late tbh

la femme nikita and leon: the professional are some of my favorite movies. Luc Besson does some great camera work and develops really strong characters--those both are well worth a little bit of patience to get into

I have just rewatched John Huston's swansong "The Dead", his adaptation of the James Joyce short story may yet be his greatest movie. A restrained and austere work it may initiallly require patience, but its serenely careful unravelling of life's apparent certainties will repay it in spades. Beautifully acted, beautiful to look it stars Angelica Huston and one of the best Irish casts ever assembled.

If you like it and are unfamiliar with Joyce read "Dubliners" his very accessible short story collection.

Existenz

Allegra Geller, the leading game designer in the world, is testing her new virtual reality game, eXistenZ with a focus group. As they begin, she is attacked by a fanatic assassin employing a bizarre organic gun. She flees with a young marketing trainee, Ted Pikul, who is suddenly assigned as her bodyguard. Unfortunately, her pod, an organic gaming device that contains the only copy of the eXistenZ game program, is damaged. To inspect it, she talks Ted into accepting a gameport in his own body so he can play the game with her. The events leading up to this, and the resulting game lead the pair on a strange adventure where reality and their actions are impossible to determine from either their own or the game's perspective.
