ghostwheel - 7 arrows

cool. i like the squelchy synth sounds, and the reversed sort of 'wap wap' sound. the scratch breaks are great; really organic & they give it a really interesting rhythmic feel. the melodic progression of the vocal pad sounds is good, some unusual changes help to keep the listener interested.

the rhythmic scratching sounds like it could possibly be a bit less bass heavy, maybe just a slight cut EQwise, to bring it in line with the low-end punch of the drum patterns, because sometimes it takes your focus away from the other sounds... but then again, that's also an interesting technique, so maybe it should be left alone ;) ah, the joys of production.

i like the last break - just before the end - a lot... it's got a great winding-down sensation... in some ways it reminds me even of nine inch nails, to be honest... which is very good!

great stuff - really cool ideas, organic sounds, and so cool to see scratching so incorporated into the actual structure of the track!

:)

headknocka - charmer

beats good, fast and furious :) synth pads are retro-nice... initially this has a classic jungle feel about it. melodically it's interesting, good to hear something different, the sustained 'twiddly' synth noise is almost middle-eastern at times. perhaps it could do with some more variations? not sure tho.

the rhythm patterns that drop in and out are really cool. EQing wise i can't really hear sub-bass in my headphones, cuz it's too early for speakers :\ but it sounds ok :) would love to hear where the track goes from there on though!!!

good stuff, the rhythmic patterns especially are excellent :)

quality psytrance here, dr seuss, I really liked the synths you conjure - nice stuff, I absolutely dig that bubbling sample in the beginning. Super drivey, this wa-wa-wa-wa thing in the rythm beat works like that here, sounds great. I did not like the synths that took over in dead middle of the track, they either need to be compressed/reverbed or something, sounds just too plain.. I downloaded a few of your other tracks, I really liked transkei alot, i need to figure out this gating sound.. what software do you use? I think you have a cool line up of tracks, overall I think you should beef up the bass-side on synths more often.. you do it, but as a come and go thing, I thought itd be cool to hear some really evel low synths in "The Defective GIR Unit" definitely made me think of ghost in the shell btw dont know why.. I'll be pming you for some brain-picking =D

i think the foundations you've layed are good but then you've gone and introduced other elements that don't gel all that well with the groundwork. sounds promising though. what gear are you using ?

SilviaSaint: Just curious if you could get into more detail on what you mean by my groundwork is ok but other elements I add dont gel? What are the other elements, give us an example if you dont mind, appreciate it, thanks so much for taking the time to have a little listen.

As for gear, at the moment I am using Cubase SX in conjunction with Fruityloops alongside Soundforge 6.0 at the moment. All software based at the moment, though I am getting my hands on a midi keyboard within the next few months and a sampler so we'll see how that goes.

Was the sound quality at a good standard?

Speak soon SilviaSaint!

i was referring to the rhythm section specifically when i said groundwork. "Warrior" i think has the potential to be really good. in "Breakin" the twangy guitar type sound that leads into the synth stabs seems kind of out of place to me, as do the stabs themselves (the other elements or voices i was referring to).

My mates have just set up a record label, This is probably one of the best tracks they've got so far which they'll be releasing on thier first record this christmas by my mates bro, see if you like. :)

Rexy - King of the Bongo Remix

The label's download site is here

i mean... it is a cool remix of manu chao's bongo bong, but it seems kinda odd that they're gonna kick a new label off with a remix of a not-so-old pop tune... in addition there are so many remixes on this one.. the tune is cool tho, I like the smudged bass, sounds neat..

just my $.02

Ebola! : Hey, I do not know what it is, but the second half of tsunami sounds downright awesome to me! You have to finish this stuff and let me hear it:) that suspense region is fcuking great!!! I think it needs some NASTY synths to it, like fading layers of razorsharp synths... The samples sound a bit unfinished and bleak.. may be more samples or something i dunno, but the feel is awesome! What software do you use? I seriously want to hear this finished!

Yea fair enuff, I mean he made that track a few years ago now, it's just the one of the songs they've got available for download. They've got some better stuff in the pipeline but I very much doubt they'll be making any money from their release outside of the local area, still jus trying to promote my mates shit :P Check out the Mix by dan perry aswell thats alrite..
