in trying to keep this thread alive for those of us not really wanting to do contest type things (not that there's anything wrong with that), here's a linkie to a new trakky...

. . . this track is tight. My kind of house definitely . . . I love the transitions . . . . like the percussion work a lot . . . the intro up to one minute is tight . . . the bassline that kicks in is really nice . . . really nice . . . This is so funky, love it . . . don't really see why you put this in deep house, just seems funky as hell to me . . . It is tracky, but would fit so nicely into a good house set that who cares . . . really nicely done.

My first attempt at D n B in a long time . . . not really a D n B track, as far as I'm concerned, more like a downtempo track with double time percussion for most of the track . . .

. . . I like this . . . the intro is a little sparce for my taste, but its still good . . . I like the percussion work . . . the synth work is alright, just seems a little simplistic . . . I tend to like my breaks to be a little more involved, but that is just my preference . . . Seems like it would fit really well into a Florida breaks type set . . .

Follow thru: bass drum and the snare at the start of the track sound a little flat. How about some off beat open hi hats now and again to throw into the mix? I wouldnt worry abouyt the start being sparse because its gonna be mixed.
Id fiddle around with some reverb and delay on the synths to keep them from sounding too simplistic.
Nice synths in the background. The creeping kinda dark one.
Great bass sound to compliment the main synth.
I think some off beat conga stabs or hi pitch snares would work great with a lot of reverb to really set them in the background and give them that free and floating sound.
Acid Punch: Nice dance floor stormer. Very simplistic but that's cool, it works here. Its one of those what you see is what you get relentless tracks.
I'd add a little reverb to the main bass line as it sounds a little flat and maybe quieten it down a touch.
Like the samples.
Good percussion work. Fast drums are actually hard to make flow (you'll know if you've ever tried to make DnB tracks!). You've done good here mate.

I would add a decent breakdown for variation.
Hollywood Spinz - For some reason when I played this it kept skipping. Listen to that and check if it does that for you. The timing just goes out.
Nice percussion here, and nice sounds albiet very familiar funk sounds.
Overall both are very professionally set out and you obviously have a feel for music and have a good knowledge of how to set down layers of each instrument for funk.

thanks for all you feedback especially since i know this is not ur style of music. its always good to hear from that perspective. when i'm in a club and i drop a funky breakbeat i know almost for sure that everyone thats in2 funk is gonna dig it. its the others in the club that r in2 hip hop or house and fl breaks that i always wonder about. if it reaches out to them as well. all your critisms are good ones. i wish you could have heard hollywood spins. that is the stronger of the two songs in my opinion. i put up eww yeah cause it had lyrics and i know how sum ppl just need lyrics to appreciate a song. anyway hollywood spins took my player two times for it to sound right. i had to play it once and then once it was completely downloaded i played it again and it sounded better. still the organ in the beggining had a diferent sound then it does normally. i don't know if it didn't upload right or what.

the whaaaz r a sample. the rest of the guitars were done in fruity loops. i just took a finger guitar and put sum effects on it to make it sound like an electric guitar and then i wrote away. i tried to make it sound as authentic as possible. and the organs are b4z.

I listened to room 1. nice track. i could definately dance to that. everytime i felt there needed to b a switch the switch came up. the beat got much better as the song progressed as well. the only thing i would suggest from the perspective of a dancer a would b, twards the end of the song when you add that dry snare/clap into the beat, take that last hit and accent it. so youd have a tat tat tat tat TAT. dancers look for that hard snare hit to hit their move on. other than that..props

Hey bro thanks for reviewing Room1. tbh I dont like that track lol. I made it when I was fucked on opiates and I thought it was good at the time. Its one of my older ones.

just listened to plan b. very moody song. what is the classification of that tune? in the biggining i was taken back to my old industrial days. it really had that feel for me. i was trying to figure out where u were gonna go w/ the tune. i was thinking OK plan b is when plan a doesn't work. the biggining of the song had that feel to it where the mood was kinda down (like plan a was failing). i was anticipating the song to speed up towards the middle (when plan b went into effect) and it never really did. so my guess was wrong. the production is very smooth and i can c y ur proud of the song. for me i would have liked to have had a harder sound brought in to build on the effect the song had. it was just a lil light for my taste. or i would have speed up the beat on the song to make it more celebratory at the end. but thats me.
also i seriously liked room 1. i'm not a house fan and i have a tolerance of about 30 min b4 the same house beat drives me out of the club. but that song had enough switches in the beat to keep me interested. and like i said ...had that last snare/clap been louder/acented that song would be very danceable.
