I wish we could use bigger avatars (100 by 100px) because I have so many funky ones from Livejournal that turn shitty when I try to resize them.

Dadaism is a most mis-understood movement, and one I absolutely adore for its complexity. So many people dismiss it so quickly.

I agree wholeheartedly with you assertions about art in general - - - and Mr. Warhol. :D.
But I wasn't going to mention it, cos' Kemical_Burn just isn't interested in art, and I would be arguing until I was well and truly blue in the face.

in defense of my avatar which i must confess, i am childishly delighted has caused this conflict :)

Off-topic :( [sorry mods...it's my avatar...it's like when someone insults your baby!! ;)]

kemicalburn - please - for once take off your hat of arrogance and agree [and surely you do?] that an artist is CERTAINLY not always judged by the finesse of their technical work - the detail in their strokes, the colours they shade - but for the ideas they present which challenge audiences and expose them to a different perspective that without these pieces, may not have been revealed.

Artists such as Warhol who pioneered a culture which for many epitomised the shallow, hedonistic lives they were occupying deserve all the credit they get - whether you want to argue his technical prowess - SURE there are many more skilled technical artists, afterall, much of warhol's work was in celluloid or silk screens, hardly the most "difficult" mediums - but his creativity, his skewed point of view and perspective and his avante garde methods.....surely, surely, surely make him worthy of the credit he enjoys? :)

please do not show your own stupidity by implying that his achievements amassed nothing more than traced soup cans...:\ it only serves to reflect badly on you. :(

i've only ever had two avatar's. this one of audrey and the one that i had previously of einstein.

i miss albert. i picked him because there is possibly nothing more in this world that i love then crazy, lovable, geniuses.

still inevitably one night i felt like a change so i went google image searching where i found this cute pic of audrey. before choosing i did find myself in a bit of dilemma though cos i also had found another kooky picture, but this time it was an image of one of my favourite artists Salvador Dali. the reason that i didn't choose Dali was because he kinda looked a little like hitler due to the moustache (although his is sculpted differently). nonetheless i decided that i didn't want to accidentally confuse anyone, as i didn't think that many people would know what Salvador Dali looks like. and i definitely didn't want anybody to think that i idolise hitler. so yes, that is the story of how miss hepburn won out in the end. plus, i just love her. she is possibly the sweetest, most beautiful, stylish women to have ever lived and i heart her a lot because of it.

it has that cool imminent death feel of a guy in a trenchcoat with a hook for a hand about to get you in the dark.

I do not normally comment on avatars but I think this one is simply farken siiiiiiic.
