your favourite smell in this world..

My boyfriend
roses, lavender, jasmine
cloves
sandlewood
and a mix of certain spices, like curry spices, it reminds me of my best friends house, shes from india so it reminds me of her house when we were younger
and the smell right after it rains, which I notice has been mentioned a lot, thats a good smell

Freshly baked anything (bread, cookies, brownies, cake for example)
Vanilla
Cinnamon
Coffee brewing
Rain (or before it starts to rain at least)
Freshly washed and dried linen just off the line

Top 3:

1. Women on their period, from a distance.
2. Just the right amount of vap-o-rub. (No, not like kandy kids)
3. "Clean" air

*bump* <3

I love the smell of yummy suntan oil, virgin coconut oil mixed with my favorite lotion, lemongrass, Versace Bright Crystal perfume (got this for my birthday..its surprisingly light and super refreshing!)...and fresh baby smell!!!

I like the smell of lightning, if you know what I'm talking about.

Also, of rain when it first starts falling (best with the above).

Another big one is magazines (or perhaps fresh newsprint as a whole), as well as the new-book-smell.

Honourable mentions include: The smell of wood burning in fireplaces, Petrol, Ethanol (especially as spirits, which incidentally taste like shit), musk (in small quantities), a man's fresh sweat, Amber, my mother, pipe/shisha tobacco...etc

My nose is my most sensitive sensory organ, so naturally I have hundreds of favourite smells...

freshly cut grass
the smell right before it rains
bonfires
charcoal grill
the first second you light a cigarette

You mean the super humid, smokey, frying potato smell? =D

Indeed. I believe the smell our dear zubi talks about is what I call 'Tropical Street Market', and it's one of my favorites smells too, now that I think about it. It's a complicated and robust bouquet of smells, not all of them pleasant, but many very much so. It stirs a complicated mix of memories, associations, and primal yearnings in me.

^Man I love that smell you just described . I love the smell of Hongkong the most, I cant really explain why......sometimes I catch whiff of it when Im walking through my city and I am instantly transported ....

my mother's house
my cat's neck (funny, only one cat smells so good, the other I can take or leave)
my son
an ex of mine has the best -smelling body odor in the world, he could bottle it and sell it as purfume . I overlooked a lot of bullshit to enjoy that scent.
the way my car smells after I smoke a cigarette and spray vanilla car freshener

Saving the best for last, the ocean.

Yeah!
New York City's Chinatown on a hot summer evening, when I was just a kid with my dad, is instantly where I get transported if I'm in HK, Taipei, or KL in a night market. If me and the Mrs ever find ourselves in Manila, we might need your help picking out some good fried street food.

my husband eating strawberries and raw coconut while walking in the woods in autumn with the dog (his paws smell like corn chips)
