Nobody sees the obvious, nobody observes the ordinary. There are more miracles in a square yard of earth than in all the fables of the Church.

Robert Anton Wilson

Like a bird with a single broken wing, no matter how much I try to fly I just keep spinning in circles -myself ~next quote~. It is better to be in touch with a few friends than surrounded by one hundred fake friends because in a world of illusions, when your bound to trip and fall, who will really lend you their hand? -myself

I really like that. It puts into words how I've felt about a forever changing perspective. Along with which I tend to bring optimism, but it's been far to long.

"When you cannot make up your mind which of two evenly balanced courses of action you should take - choose the bolder." ~Ezra Pound

I really feel like a bunch of gears are always spinning about the decisions I'm making or more so, trying to make. Circles = ball, balls roll but keep coming back to the same place - sometimes taking the indecisiveness out of the equation helps me move forward, and that's really been a big part of my drugs use if not all of it.

"Our souls belong to our bodies, not our bodies to our souls." ~Herman Melville

My life may be far from perfect and I may be unable to change some things, but deep down I know who I am and that is very apparent when I look back and see that in my worst of times I was still a good person.

"There was a faith-healer of Deal
Who said, "Although pain isn't real,
If I sit on a pin
And it punctures my skin,
I dislike what I don't think I feel."
~Anonymous

I'd be more worried about why my ass is numb.

I'm not trying to counsel any of you to do anything really special except dare to think. And to dare to go with the truth. And to dare to really love completely.
~ Richard Buckminster Fuller

Far out, I love that one. Ezra Pound is an extremely complex character. He's the only person to have four protégés win the Nobel Prize for Literature (Ernest Hemingway, William Butler Yeats and T.S. Eliot, and James Joyce), and yet he was never even considered himself (most likely because of his outspoken anti-leftist political views for which he was forcibly confined to a mental hospital in America and charged with treason).

Cannot remember who said this, and it's paraphrased: "No-one can ever make you feel lesser-than, without your permission."

It's so true. The only way one can feel insulted is to passively accept what their tormentor is saying, and then in effect they end up berating their own person.

It was Eleanor Roosevelt Amino: 'No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.' :) A truism, but a difficult one to learn.

Thanks for adding that info on Ezra Pound, I didn't know any of that.

What I wonder when reading the quote you posted above is after a while of hearing someone insult you repeatedly (or trying) do you start to accept what they're saying as true? I think I've read people wrong before and adhered what I perceived to have heard into what I think of myself (ego bruising?).

“It is easy to perform a good action, but not easy to acquire a settled habit of performing such actions.” ~Aristotle

It's all about the follow through.

“Beauty without virtue is like a rose without scent.” ~Proverb

If you can't hold onto your roots what do you got left?

“The greatest barrier to success is the fear of failure.” ~Sven Goran Eriksson

Why should we be in such desperate haste to succeed, and in such desperate enterprises? If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.

Henry David Thoreau

My drummer is nature, and she beats a slow rhythm indeed ;).

I love Thoreau's quotes, I desperately need to grab a book soon and put some time into appreciating his writing more. There definitely is no point in knowledge without the ability to have others around you be able to make use of it.

“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.” ~Henry David Thoreau

Thoreau seemed all about writing from his own backbone so that's why I'm intrigued to go grab a book. I will maybe take a look today.

“The unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. stone crumbles. wood rots. people, well, they die. but things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.” ~Chuck Palahniuk

“Simplify, simplify.” ~Henry David Thoreau

Simplicity & Synchronicity. Two of my favorite words that I feel far from at the moment...

<3 Ain't it the truth.

Happiness is only real when shared

Sometimes it takes extreme circumstances to realize it, unfortunately, and often times too late for those who try and find the edge.

“Life is short, Break the Rules.
Forgive quickly, Kiss SLOWLY.
Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably
And never regret ANYTHING
That makes you smile.”

― Mark Twain

"Dont gain the world and lose your soul, wisdom is better than silver and gold"

- Bob Marley

Walden and his essay on civil disobedience, if you haven't already checked it out, is a great place to start. I've been meaning to take another crack at that book. Soon perhaps.

Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love
~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

The worst way to miss someone is to have them sitting right next to you and know you can never have them.
~Anon

Seek ye first the good things of the mind, and the rest will either be supplied or its loss will not be felt.
~Francis Bacon

"When you are sad, go outside. If you are sad outside go back inside and look for your mom. If she isn't there, sing songs."

This totally made me cry in front of the whole class but I didn't care.<3

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone" ~ihavenoidea but it saved my life (the first time) a few years ago. It's a good one to live by and really easy to see / is practical in life...

That just shows your beauty miss herb.<3

That is wisdom, right there. Kids and animals are sacred-they remind us of who we are in the midst of being pressured to be something else. <3

One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.
~Bob Marley

...well maybe the kind of pain one can appreciate rather than the confusing shit! ;)
