So you don't want underage girls/guys around so that you can get high and go crazy without having to think about potential consequences? Sounds rather selfish to me.
Meh, 16+ is good enough. I went to my first rave at 16, felt right, wasn't a dumbass. Let girls dress how they want... the skanky ones are usually either running around with their boyfriends or at least with a group that is supposed to keep em safe. I think there are some really cool under 18 kids that would probably enhance the rave rather than cause trouble... I've been to many raves and it usually isn't the u18 kids that are causing it. I'm older than 18.. and I still don't mind seeing 16 and 17 year olds at raves... let em have fun. Like it was said before, there are idiots, young or old.

I agree with the fact that a lot of kids come to raves and what not just to get fucked up on drugs, with no appreciation for the people/music etc. But seriously, its there choice, so why hate unless they are doing something completely and utterly stupid?
If you start to think that ever kid does stuff like this, it kinda sucks for the ones such as myself, who know their shit/act mature. I went to bassnectar last night, met about ten kids who thought my friends and I were in college, talked to a random bluelighter about pre/post loading that I met, and when I went up to a group of girls and tried to introduce myself, I got hated on because I was wearing some cuffs and singles that I was giving to my friends. That was kinda a buzz kill and completely unnecessary, but hey, I can't be expecting too much if my generation acts like a bunch of dumb asses while on a little bit of molly.

personally, i hate going to a party and seeing 14yo girls dressed in their underwear lying on the floor to rolled out to even move. im all for 18+
and to the person that said raves are dead, they so arent. here there are great outdoor parties all summer long. you may have to drive 4+ hours out into the desert/mountains, but thats kinda the point. keeps the randos away, only true party people show up.

What I find amusing in these kind of discussions is that I could replace the originally mentioned age with approximately any number and it would still be true. Yes, there are 14 and 16 and 19 and 25 and 37 year olds that can't handle their shit. Is it more likely to be to a 16 year old? Yes, because they don't have the experience to handle it. If you somehow managed to stop anybody under 18 from going to raves and doing drugs in a few years it would be mostly 19 and 20 year olds that couldn't.

^^i have no problem with kids doing drugs, i just dont want them doing their drugs around me. And as far as you saying that 19 and 20yo would suddenly not be able to handle their shit, well yeah, there would be an increase, but when you are 15-16 you are just underdeveloped mentally. how many kids do dumbass things (not just at raves) and then grow out of it by the time they are 20? I know i did stuff that makes me cringe looking back on it.

I think you have it backwards. Nowadays, age is really difficult to tell after you hit a certain point, especially for females who sometimes generally quit growing at 16. I think it's selfish of them to get messed up and go grind on people of older age and put those people in danger of being sited for conduct with a minor. Half of them probably won't admit to being 16 either. Now that is selfish.
I'm a female, so I obviously won't have this problem as much, but I have male friends who really have to watch themselves at raves, and it can be kind of a buzzkill for them having to be paranoid when they should just be focusing on being happy and having fun.
Ime it's rare for a girl to randomly start grinding on a guy. It's much more common for a guy to randomly start grinding with a girl. I dunno, I just haven't experienced any problems with the age thing myself aside from seeing a bit too much skin on the prostitots.

I'm sorry, but this and raceism are not exactly connected in any way. I don't find it descriminatory of me to say that I don't think kids should be destroying their brains, and putting themselves in dangerous positions this early on in life. And again, the danger they put others in in the process. That's not me hating on them for their age.

I think you semi-misunderstood him. To be honest, I pretty much said the same thing in my own way. I don't want to roll around a bunch of half-naked high-schoolers for all the reasons I've previously stated.
It's really only as offensive and "generalizing-esque" as you make it. We're not being elitist, we're being practical.
For example, it's like saying I'd feel safer being attacked by terrorists if I were surrounded by machine guns and muscle men... rather than water-balloons and skinny dudes. I'm not hating on or discriminating against water balloons and skinny dudes... I just wouldn't want to be in that position with them.
I don't want to be around minors in a rave atmosphere for very understandable reasons. Not that they're bad people... but I just think there's a time and place... and age... for everything.

how come no one else sees what is wrong with this? how can a 12 year old comprehend the physical and psycological effects to come from taking a drug that is presumably some sort of stimulant with properties similar to ectasy? i mean eaven if you test with a full set of reagents and you check pill reports you can never realy be over 95% sure it is what it's being sold as. now 19 out of 20 is still pretty good chances but i mean even the "experts" still dont fully comprehend the complex biochemestry of neurotransmitters. kids who have taken but a week long state mandated drug and alcohol education awareness class and read all the trip reports on erowid think that they are educated enough to fully comprehend the effects of this, i do not believe this is possible untill you can accurately judge the risks involved. without relevant information on the quality or quantity of the substance in your local drugs it is impossible to properly asses the risk.
now dont get me wrong i was doing drugs and having sex at age 12 my self and i did a pretty good job handeling my self making sure i got all of my school work done first in AP classes and did every thing but honnestly the issue is not handeling your shit. if your under 18 your a huge liability for the scene...
if your 18 and you get arested intoxicated or with drugs they haul you off and you have to deal with it. if your under 18, they call your parents, you get in trouble but mostly it is the people or organization that was suposed to be in charge there that gets in trouble. so your underage shananagins could shut down a production crew, a venue or even get your friend who's driving you around in trouble. it's one thing to fuck around when your liable for your actions it's another to fuck around when other people's buisnesses are at stake.
