It’s been a month today,
It feels like a lifetime.
The love is not lost,
Yet put away for another day.
The smell of your hair,
The feeling of your body against mine.
I told you I didn’t want to leave that night,
I wish I never had.
The time we spent together
Feels like so long ago.
To break up for that reason,
It kills me to know there was nothing wrong.
I can’t see you.
Knowing the feelings that will jump right back into my heart.
It took me long enough to get you out of my every thought the first time,
I don’t want to go through it again.
Yet the love is still there,
For no one else but you.
When you want to reclaim it,
You know where I am.
