Alprazolam (xanax)-very experienced- Gettin zand
Benzos are a rather boring (and dependence forming) substance when compared to the psychedelics, but yesterday was interesting. This "trip report" is to not only document my 1 experience, but generally describe the effects of benzos.
Yesterday i popped 3mg of xanax after i finally got them. (this would be a large dose for someone with no tolerance)
I had been waiting a long time for this. I am somewhat dependent on benzos- i have GAD. benzos has been the only reliable method for me to conquer anxiety that i believe originated from chemical imbalances caused by a few very hard LSD experiences.
In about 45minutes, i felt the inhibitions lowering and anxiety decreasing. I started chatting on icq with ppl i have ignored (and have ignored me) for a long time. Some of these conversations went well. I felt relaxed, but clear headed. I was comfortable with my body; usually i feel things wrong with it, like weird pains or tension. I felt social- i wanted to do something with people. Unfortunately, this was my day off and my friends were working.
2 hours after ingestion is usually the peak for common benzos. Alprazolam is the same. I felt loose, my illogical inhibitions disappeared. I called a friend i havent talked to in weeks. i just said whats up... do u want to go camping tonite. benzos increase sociability like alcohol, but do not cause "drunk talk" (at least i never experienced it)- talking about whatever pops to mind without thought, slurred speech...etc.
Since I was pretty much alone without any activities to do, i did get some depression. This can happen while on benzos. I then decided to go for a walk and smoke some cannabis. I took 3 hits. The relaxing/stimulating effect of the weed went nicely with the xanax.
4 hours after ingestion i was sort of in a trance- not really thinking, just feeling tired. Abnormal inhibitions (anxiety) still low, but sociability somewhat reduced.
Effects lasted about 6 hours- after that i was left with a slightly depressed feeling (partially due to boredom) and no craving for any GABA agonist (alcohol, gbl).
Some random info on getting "zand" or "benzo'd":
memory loss occurs somewhat
time can go very fast
negative bodily effects (pain, nausea, itching) reduce in intensity
anxiety will be nonexistant or remanifest itself into depressive symptoms
no real hangover, but possible increase in anxiety the next day (usually only with consistent use)
impairment of coordination
munchies (even more than pot sometimes)
I have found all benzos to be almost identical in effects, only varying in length and some are more sedating than others. Also, some produce tolerance easier. Valium tolerance is the most rapid to build...xanax the least to form tolerance.
If u have anxiety and use benzos... u are likely to want more eventually and become dependent on them to feel normal.
